With fossils over 400 million years old, it's like a giant open-air museum. – Overview
While the site looks more like the Badlands of the west than a Midwestern scene, modern-day Kentucky flora and fauna grace this 220-acre park. It's the perfect getaway for hiking, biking, birding or boating along the Ohio River.

Features

One of the area's most unusual museums, the Falls of the Ohio Interpretive Center's main exhibit is a limestone shelf along the Ohio River. Littered with 400-million-year-old fish bones and coral rocks, the formation is the largest exposed fossil bed in the world. The interpretive center follows the history of the Ohio River from the Silurian and Devonian periods up to the modern era. Although entrance to the park is free (the only free state park in the area), there is a modest fee for the Interpretive Center.

Awesome View! – It is a great place to go with someone you love to watch the sun set. You can sit out on the rocks and watch and listen to the water hit and sometimes you can see otters swimming around. I feel in love with the place as well as the man I was with.

A Wonderful Adventure – My family loves the Falls, this is a beautiful place that showcases the history of Louisville and Southern Indiana. The Interpretive Center has displays featuring many of the creatures found in the area, as well as aquariums and hands-on areas for the kids. This is also a wonderful place for photography, and neighboring Ashland Park is the best place to take a photo of the Louisville skyline.
