Unpleasant & Unappealing – We were very disappointed in the quality of food, the service and the overall aesthetics of the restaurant. We ordered from the menu (not the buffet) and these were our determinations: (1) Prime Rib - didn't taste particularly bad, but over half of the meat received was a very large amount of grissle and fat, (2) the boneless chicken breast (Richard's style with mushrooms & cheese) the cheese tasted a bit off and I removed it to discover mushrooms that had been cooked along with other foods and had odd taste, removed those and the chicken breast itself was passable, but dry, (3) the chicken fingers (both adult order & child's order) were extremely thin and overcooked to the point of brittleness when cut open. Otherwise, the baked potatoes were dry and wrinkled (had been sitting quite a while), the salad was okay, but not actually good. The tables were sticky and still dirty, the menus had dried food on them, the child's menu was dirty & sticky with dried food covering some words.
The waitress first forgot that we ordered our salads without onions. A second waitress delivered them and insisted we didn't order them that way until the first one did come by and corrected her. Very ungracious about it when bringing the new salads. Then, the waitress forgot part of our order and when we got our food, we asked if the rest would be brought out shortly. She didn't respond, just picked up the plates and walked off. Then plunked it down on the table when returned without a word. Very unfriendly and unhelpful.
The bathrooms had ceiling tiles missing with dirty ventilation with torn metal showing through and needed mopped and general cleaning. We drove 38 miles to try this and about all I can say is that we enjoyed the drive. We should have gone to Rally's or White Castle instead or waited to find a McDonald's. Absolutely ANYTHIING would have been better.
Catering Event – I arrived early as to see the operation and wonder what i would get for a $6.50 lunch buffet what a supprise. The fried chicken was excellent as was the whole buffet. After talking with the owners I booked a wedding reception that I had nothing but oohs and aahs about.
I stood out like a champ. I would highly reccomend talking with owners as they showed me how much pride they took in the whole event. It also supprised me that the owners them selfs showed up to do the catering. Did not send help from the restaurant what a +++
I was referred by a friend who had been to one thier catering events.
