Was hesitant to visit his store after reading the reviews. Needed to find a special hubcap for class c RV, he was most helpful, searched through several boxes to find the appropriate hub cap, spent time with me to make sure I knew how to install it, maybe not schooled in Mary Poppins charm school, hell want I wanted was someone who new his stuff and and what I needed and he did. 82 old men working in hubcap warehouse who has been around as long as he has earned his grumpiness, some may see it as senior charm, cut him some slack and you may find him charming.
Unless you wish to confront the rudest old man I have ever met, don't bother. I realize it's pretty much the only store in the San Diego area like it but wow this man is a piece of work. Yelled at me and asked if I was an American (he was watching FoxNews). I couldn't imagine if I appeared to be a foreigner. Yelled at me for not knowing the exact size of hub cap I needed (there for a friend's car). He then walked out of store and starting banging a hub cap on my car window as I left. All I said to him was that he was rude. Either the man was drunk at 1130am or he was having the worst morning one could have. BBB was contacted. On a side note: If you seek an interesting experience at this crazy old man's expense then by all means, but that wouldn't be very nice I suspect.
Thank you Charlie! – Well, what do you want... sure he has a little bit of an "attitude"... but, at 80 years old, he's EARNED IT! He does know his hubcaps, though. I called every recycling yard around. One of them even said, sure we've got it! Went there to find out that the circular metal ring was missing, and half of the plastic clips were broken. I called Charlie and he had what I needed... That's what counts. Oh, and if you don't like the after market hub caps that Charlie sells for $40.00... I'm sure the dealer has them for $110 :)
Great service – Went to Charlie's to replace a lost wheel cover for my 2003 Camry. Charlie was friendly, service was quick and my wheel cover looks great! And only $25.
DON'T GO HERE! Charlie rudest man in El Cajon – Don't go here, I was looking for a replacement 08 Corolla wheel cover, this guy seemed ok when I walked in but when I declined to by his cheap after market wheel covers for $40, he became very rude and started yelling, I walked out. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
