Artistic but is it great? – Gallery is a high-ceilinged, artistic space in the Gershwin Hotel. Cool artwork and funky lighting set an artsy vibe. Music is decent with hiphop and some other stuff spinning. Service at the bar was decent but waitress service at our table was slow at best. I was there for a birthday and there was an eclectic mix of people there. I couldn't decide how I felt about the place because of the immensely different mix of people there. The jury is still out for me.

Music is great if you can get in – I have only lived in New York for six months and I went to Gallery on the advice of a friend. We got on line at around 1230 and after a half hour outside, when I had a 'so-called' VIP invite, I finally got to the VIP room through a sea of girls and mostly euroboys, a lot of girls.

Anyway, the DJ in the room was spinning amazing dance music. I don't know what he was doing there but I'm thankful.

Gallery has a good thing going if you can get in, the staff in the place is very nice but the door people leave so much to be desired.

Martini00us – Plenty to see, hear, and taste. Either go there to chill, or see what famous people will be walking around. Definitely worth paying a visit to.

Loved it – I went last Friday, July 16, based largely on the suggestion of the email review before mine. I really liked it. Nice looking crowd, multiple rooms, good music. My girlfriends and I had a blast!

Great Ambiance – I went to Gallery at the Gershwin last Friday for the first time and had a great time. The ultrachic atmosphere sets the tone for a stylish crowd. The long bar in the front, leads way into the back room where everyone appears to be partying. The staff was friendly and the music was fun, I would definitely recommend checking this place out, if you haven't already!

Horrid Service ! – Worst Service of any restaurant I have ever been to in Manhattan. We were seated at a table with dirty dishes and were told to wait there until they cleaned it up. After 20 minutes, the waiter came to ask us for our drink order before cleaning up the table from the people before us. After telling the waiter to wipe down the table (not just remove the dishes), we ordered...and we were then asked to move by the hostess to another table so they could accomodate another table. We moved and sat under a vent all night freezing cold. We walked in at 9:15 and started eating at 10:45. The sushi was good, but not good enough to make it worth going there !

Not a very good scene either...they are not sure if they are a bar or a restaurant and it is apparent !

HORRIBLE....

A yummy Flatiron lounge with sophisticated musical taste. – The Scene
Rosy lighting fills the wide-open lounge at the Gershwin, a hotel long known for its youthful clientele of European backpackers and artists. The inviting space has an ideal set-up for groups: rows of low-to-the-ground orange vinyl couches and banquet tables, and flocked red velvet seating wrapped along the walls. On slow weeknights, fashionable, low-key guests tend to gather at the separate bar, which is decorated with luminous fragments of marbled glass.

The Draw
DJs spin Latin music on Wednesday nights and a catch-all mix from Thursdays to Saturdays. Other evenings the house selections--such as Le Tigre remixes and Electric Six tracks--are edgy and seductive enough to keep the party rolling. For extra enticement, try the bartender's delicious French martini, which is fragrant with pineapple, yet has a subtle, not-too-sweet finish.
