Editorial Review for Neumo's – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
Cutting-edge indie-rock acts like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Iron and Wine and the Electric Six pack in a young, stylish, hard-drinking crowd. Crimson walls, flirtatious mermaid murals and balcony seating characterize the main room, while signature clown paintings in the showroom give a nod to past reincarnations of the space. There's not a bad sight line in the house; although occasionally over-sold shows can make things uncomfortably snug.

Just like the post two down I was at Tim and Erics awesome show great job and was not let back on the floor after going upstairs to get a drink because as the staff stated, "the floor is at capacity". Good luck seeing the stage from the upper level. I am 6ft tall and couldn't see anything. As more people came upstairs, they wouldn't let anyone back down to the floor to take their place. Felt trapped in the bar like we were animals. The scary thing is people just kept buying drinks because the show at that point was a lost cause. This is Illegal! I threatened to call the police and they eventually gave me my money back but I really had to work for it.
Pros: good bands
Cons: illegal crowd control

I just got home from Neumos. I went to see the Kills. I had bought my ticket two months ago. I turned in my ticket at the front door, but then at the door to the room where the band was playing there was a line of people waiting to get in. They and I could not see the band because Neumos and TicketWest sold more tickets than the capacity of the room. The employees there thought it sucked, but they only work there and don't make the rules. So, don't go to Neumos unless you ready to get there early enough to get in, and don't drink too much, because if you have to go to the bathroom, you may not get in to see the band--even though you paid for a tciket to see the band. I'm surprised operating a business like this is legal. I think it's a rip-off.
Pros: Nice crowd
Cons: Cannot see band because they oversell
