Two accused cyber-thieves used credit cards stolen from customers at two Indian restaurants in Brooklyn to fund E-ZPass transactions sold at a discount on the Internet, federal prosectors said in court Friday.
The disclosure came at a bail hearing in Manhattan Federal Court for Rana Khandakar and his girlfriend, Usawan Saelim, who are charged with scamming E-ZPass as part of a larger $6 million online credit card fraud involving hundreds of stolen credit cards.
Prosecutor James Pastore said the stolen credit cards belonged to customers of two restaurants owned by Khandakar’s father, India Place in Prospect Heights and Bombay Grill in Park Slope.
Great Indian food in Park Slope – Had the lamb vindaloo which was very flavorful, yum. The rice pudding was delicious, and I thought the prices were very reasonable as well.
We keep coming back for more. – Our favorite Indian in South Park Slope. We usually order for delivery. It's also OK for eating out, but it's not the coziest of all places. Has a large photo of Mahatma Ghandi. Yes, I have great admiration for him, his role in the nationbuilding of India, and the development of the concept non-violent resistance. But he does seem to have an eating disorder - there must be a better photo to put in a restaurant ...
But back to the food: It's just great. We love the vegetarian appetizers. The Ka'chori is addictive - like seriously addictive. Samosas are great, too. And for the entrees, two of our favorites are the lamb spinach and the Bharta (eggplant).
Extremely Disappointed – I live in the neighborhood and was eager to try this Indian establishment because I love that type of food. Unfortunately, I found the price is expensive and the quality way below average. The most common dishes were mediocre at best. The chicken masala tasted like it had a pound of sugar added; same with saag panir. I do not plan to return even though it is conveniently located. I wanted this to be an enjoyable experience but last left with a bad taste. Roomates sampled some of the meal and confirmed.
Most underrated restaurant in BK! – Excellent service, great food, lovely people....I always have a great experience when i eat here. Every time ahs been better than the next. Very kind and eager to please, though not necessary, since food speaks for itself and is very reasonably priced.
Everyone should try this place!
Try this place!!!! – Every dish we've ordered was delicious. We've yet to be disappointed. There is no reason for us to try another Indian restaurant.
The mouth waters – Just mention "Bombay Grill" to me and watch my mouth water. It's like a physiological reflex. I've been to this restaurant twice for lunch in two weeks and each time have received excellent service (attentive! polite!) and food so good it made me exclaim aloud. Lunch specials are not skimpy -- they are full-size! I recommend the "shag ponir" and "mushroom shag". And try the spine-tingling "ka-chori" appetizer, described on the menu as "too difficult to put into words, but recommend"!
