I was unavoibable late for my appointment. By 15 minutes. They refused to see me and told me I'd have to come back another day! Uh...I won't be going back there. I'm sure there are dentists out there who don't employ people with this "I don't give a blank attitude."
Add me to the discontents! I had 2 xrays on front teeth (first time ever on front teeth). After the xrays I was told ins. would not cover. I objected since I had never had front teeth xrayed. I was then told the $40 charge would not be made, and my chart would be so noted for future visits. When I checked out the charge showed up. Again I protested and was told the charge would be deleted. I did pay $40 on VISA for another procedure the ins. didn't cover. Then, the first statement I received included the xray charge. I went to the office and was told the $40 credit for the xrays would be credited to my acct. in 4-6 weeks. It has been almost 2 mo. w/o a credit. I disputed with VISA and they called Nanston and was told the charge was never applied. My statement says differently. Back to Nanston office tomorrow to dispute again. If no satisfaction, I'll probably tell them I will go ahead and pay the $30 bal. on my statement (not clear how that is the balance due), and tell them they can throw my chart away since I'll not be returning.
I would rather get run over by a car. – Ok, so I went for a check up and the doc tells me I need a root cannel. So I make my appointment to come back the next Monday.
I show up Monday when they open for my appointment. I wait 30 minutes even though I'm the first appointment of the day. Doc drills out my tooth, makes the impression and puts in the temporary. As the numbness wears off I'm increasingly in more pain. I also notice my mouth is bleading. Come to find out he cut inside my mouth and didn't bother to tell me.
So I go back to see a different guy who does the root cannel. They lost my appointment. Didn't set it up right in the system so surprise they need to squeeze me in. They take me back, give me a shot to numb me up. I sit for an HOUR with nobody in the room. Finally a nurse comes in and asks how I am. How the heck do you think I am, I've been in the chair an hour all numb.
Doc comes takes care of the tooth. I pay my bill after the tell me what my insurance didn't cover... over $1000. fine.
A month and a half goes by and I get a call. Tells me I have an outstanding bill of $300 that my insurance didn't cover. Keep in mind that was my only trip to the dentist so it wasn't like they didn't know I used all my money, because I hadn't. They just didn't calculate correctly or failed to file the paperwork. I'm looking forward to getting a return call tomorrow to discuss this, but in the meantime I plan to post on every website to let the world know what a POS operation this is and the pure lack of respect they have for their customers.
If you're looking to be overcharged, made to wait and generally treated horribly Nanston is the dentist for you. IF not go ANYWHERE else. Heck tie a string to your tooth and use a door. You'll probably come out better in the end.
Absolutely horrible service, insane billing, terrible dentists – Whether you have any problems in your mouth or not, they will swear you need a root canal. EVERY SINGLE PERSON I've met who went there said the same thing - first thing they want to do is at LEAST one root canal. I went in and had a toothache that had been driving me nuts for about a year so when they said I needed one, I was ok with that and went ahead.
Oh wait, the best part. The dentist didnt tell me I needed a root canal. The hygeinist didnt tell me I needed a root canal. I found out I needed a root canal when I was shuttled into the 'coordinator's' office. Who presented me with a bill for work not yet done for over $600. And that was WITH my excellent insurance.
The actual root canal wasnt that bad - Dr. Wood in Atlanta was very good. Dr. Ghanni (Gunny?) was horrible when I went back for the crown. Ever had your teeth filed down to a nub without the benefit of anasthesia? It was one of the most horrific experiences of my life. What part of 'I am NOT numb' is that hard to understand? The next morning, the temp crown fell out. While I was drinking milk.
I wrote an entire long blog about this, but suffice it to say, keystone cops of dentistry. I will go to a back alley drunk before I go back to Nanston Dental group. Find someone else. DO NOT GO THERE.
Not competenet, horrible billing service. They also cheat in their bills ! – "It's hard to believe that this company is still in business. I'm totally dissatisfied with the service I got.
I went there for a pain in one of the lower back tooth and they took films etc to find the problem. They said I need a filling on some other teeth as well. After several visits, guess what the original tooth that was aching was still untouched. I had to remind them that it was the one to be taken care of not the others. They were totally clueless.
Not to mention they had several incorrect charges in my bill. My insurance company has refused to pay the incorrect charges. I tried to refute the charges but they insisted that they did those procedures while my insurance company said it was a procedural error (They charged several items wice per visit, which were only supposed to be charged 1 per visit).
This company has a bad service and steals your money!. Stay away.!"
dental work from Nanston – About 2 mo ago, I had a crown recemented by them and the darn tooth is loose again.
They wanted banking information and ssn's which I will not give them. My savings account is none of thier business.
the work done was shoddy, especially when the female dentist said it would hold forever.
Money Hungry & Misleading – I'm giving Nanston 1 Star because although the dental services are good, when they are performed, their customer service is horrible. Like other reviewers mentioned, they are misleading when they give estimates for certain procedures, and after you agree to go ahead with the procedures and pay the difference, you get slammed with another unexpected bill 3 months later. The doctors are also very impersonal. If you want a dentist who really cares about you and not your money, please pick another dental group. I've also heard similar things from other patients in my neighborhood. BAD CHOICE!
Try to Avoid – I had excellence insurance and went in to get my teeth cleaned and was not able to get that accomplished.
Money Money Money - Avoid them when you have choices. – Nanston Dental - is a corporate. Hard to get to consult with the expereinced dentists. You will end up meeting money minded professionals who dont care about patient, rather care about how many different treatments this patient can be enrolled for. Most of the treatment wont be covered by insurance becos, they are not mandatory. I did not know until my insurance declined paying. I suggesst - people - please avoid this group. There are better dentists in Atlanta.
Terrible wait time & they want your money. They don't back up their work. – We are a family of four. We have put up with Nanston for over 2 years now but not any more. My wife had her old fillings from 20 years ago replace at Nanston. Well one of those fillings fell out over the weekend. They would not discuss over the phone what the cost would be. They said the visit would be $30 - $60 plus xrays and it would be up the dentist wether there would be a refilling charge or not. Sure enough the visit was $60 and full price on replacing the filling that they did in the first place. No break on anything. I was not expecting it to be totally free but come on. A family of four every year and you can't back up the work you already did. It is worth the drive to find some one that you can trust. They where convenient because of the location. Tired of waiting everytime we go as well. Avoid them. You will be much happier.
Family of four.
