Service good the rest not so – The server was pleasant and helpful since this was my first time to an IHOP.
However both the flatware and restaurant were in need of a cleaning.
The coffee while at least warm, was bitter even though it had no real coffee taste or smell.
I ordered the pancake combo, with both sausage and bacon.
The pancakes (original buttermilk) were cold (butter could not melt) and still had uncooked batter on the inside.
The bacon was pretty close to being pork rinds. Just about no meat. and just as crumbly as pork rinds as well as flavorless.
The sausage links must have been either old or just poor quality since they arrived with wrinkled skin. That to me is defintely a sign of poor preparation at the very least.
I have to say that the eggs that I ordered over medium were perfect. No crunchy areas yet fully cooked with just enough yolk.
I mentioned all this to the cashier (bridget not sure of spelling) and she was quick to offer me the meal free of charge. I did not accept her offer since that would have meant I really would not have the right to complain. Although I did have to leave hungry with a sour stomach from the bad coffee.
The amount of people in the restaurant was in no way too much for the amount of people working to keep up with cleanliness and food prep.
Breakfast served all day and pancakes served a variety of ways are the hallmarks of this diner-style restaurant. – In Short
The first International House of Pancakes opened in a suburb of Los Angeles in 1958 serving a menu of hearty breakfast favorites. Today the restaurant still serves its signature dishes like the original buttermilk pancakes and pigs in blankets: sausage links wrapped in hotcakes. Other breakfast items include waffles, omelets, French toast and crepes. Non-breakfast offerings include sandwiches, burgers, entree-sized salads, and dinners like T-bone steak, pot roast and herb-roasted chicken.
