Tips for Sheridan's Frozen Custard

THIS LOCATION IS CLOSED DON'T BOTHER!. I consider myself fortunate living as close as I do to Sheridan's. As far as I know, there are only 3 in the DFW area.

I was introduced to Sheridan's by my Daughter's. We've made going to Sheridan's a tradition on the weekends I have them. There have been times I've gone to Sheridan's without my Daughters, when I do, I'll take a pic of the only treat I ever get, the Strawberry Cheesecake Concrete and send it to them. Cruel? If you've had the aforementioned treat, then you would know the answer is YES.

The menu at Sheridan's is a formidable foe. I must prepare myself for battle prior to each visit. Menu is very cunning, seeming almost friendly at times, but therein lies the treachery. Menu's evil plot has never wavered, persuade me into trying something new, diabolical! To date I stand undefeated against menu. Those days are numbered, I fear.

Nobody's perfect and that, in my opinion, includes Sheridan's.

I wish Sheridan's large size cup would someday grow up and become a large cup. Make a larger large, please....

I'm done.

Better than Blue Bell. I love ice cream, I mean, it's my favorite food in the world! Or at least it was. But this isn't ice cream, it's better! I must admit, I was skeptical for a while before my friends convinced me to try it. My apprehension was based on most people's apprehension for anything new or different: the unknown. I thought it was a version of frozen yogurt, of which I'm not a fan.

I found a Sheridan's in Lubbock where I lived for a while and was overjoyed to learn there was one near my new home in Fort Worth. Even though Sheridan's is a 30 minute drive to Watauga, it is well worth it.

The bad thing about ice cream is that it's so darn cold! But frozen custard is different because it is served about 25 degrees warmer than ice cream. Don't get me wrong, it's still cold, but it won't give you the headache freeze. This is good since I have a hard time not putting the whole cup of custard goodness in my mouth at once. Custard is much creamier and smoother than ice cream which has more of an icy-frozen texture to it. They come in either vanilla or chocolate flavors to which you can add almost any topping: fruit, candy bars, cookies, candy, etc. The custard itself is not overwhelmingly flavorful, but has just the right abount of flavor. Most of the flavor will come from your toppings and mixings. My personal favorite is the carmel pretzel crunch concrete. Or I like just the plain old vanilla custard by itself. Sometimes I'll have the chocolate custard with chocolate sauce. Go during the summer in the evenings for a cool treat. They even have heaters over the patio for the extreme custard eaters who can't stay way during the colder times of the year. I think they only accept cash, so be prepared. It's a terrific ending to a date, but beware of the kids that will be running about. Enjoy!

Good Custard. While the Custard is great, I find it hard to go there because there is no inside seating and it has a Western Exposure. The employees are inside in Air Conditioning looking at you melt in 100 degree weather. Go in the fall.

Simply the best.. Without a doubt the best premium custard and icecream available in the city. For anyone out there that hasn't yet tried Sheridan's Frozen Custard, this is a treat!

They have a drive through...I can eat in the air conditioned car! That rocks!. I brought my girlfriens there the other night and their custard really is better than ANYTHING I have ever had. We also got to stay in our car in the AC and drive through...which was extremely fast. Keep up the good work guys!

Editorial Review. Kid-friendly shop dishes specialty frozen custards, plus other treats like sundaes, pies and hot dogs.
