Want nail fungus and a lousy manicure to boot? I was one of this salon's best customers coming in every two weeks for the past 3 yrs and referring several people. However, in the past 6 mos., they've gone downhill and the best nail techs they had are no longer working there (Jennie/Linda). Turns out they were too honest for their own good and Jennie got fed up w/people returning to have their manicures redone as they had started using cheap product they brought back from Vietnam. Their manicures in the past couple of mos have lasted all of 3 days max w/chipping/peeling beginning by the second day. I'm very careful w/my nails and wear gloves when doing dishes, however, chipping by the 3rd day is inexcusable. Their pedicures last for 2-3 weeks and I was always pleased until I got nail fungus on 4 of my little toes. Since this is the only salon I've frequented for the past 3 yrs., there is no other way I would have gotten this fungus. Watched them 'clean' the pedicure tubs one day, and their 'cleaning' consisted of letting the water run out and filling w/a blue solution which contains who knows what chemicals. What I've heard since is that the drains also need to be cleaned as they are a breeding ground for bacteria and fungus. If you've never had nail fungus, you are fortunate as it's a pain to deal w/ and is difficult to get rid of. Basically your nails are brittle and peel and almost fall off when you trim them. They look horrible and are bumpy and uneven. I've always had nice-looking, healthy toes, but they are a sight now and even polish doesn't cover the imperfection. To add insult to injury, when I mentioned this to Lisa, one of the proprietors, along w/my last 3 manicures lasting just a few days, she gave me a hard time. Always thought the customer should be treated w/respect, but this woman doesn't get how much business I brought her over the years. Caveat emptor!
