This is Dave at DMSM in response to – Hello Citysearch Members,
Unfortunately we get some disgruntled customers from time to time. As you can see from the negative reviews here in each instance it concerns a customer that failed to pay as agreed and subsequently had their vehicle repossessed. We understand having a vehicle repossessed can be a traumatic and emotional experience but for us it is an unavoidable action that must be taken when an account has gotten past due and the customer fails to take the steps necessary to remedy the situation. This is no way reflects how customers feel about making their purchases as you can see from the numerous positive reviews regarding that.
Due to privacy laws we can't comment on specific accounts, it would be unjust to do so on a public forum even if it was permissible. In fact our specialty is giving people a chance not keeping them down. I will say this Colorado has very specific and strict repossession laws. In addition to being notified my mail as required by state law we make every effort to offer chances for past due customers to make arrangements to bring their accounts current. Even if it takes a considerable amount of time longer than CO statutes allow. We log a promise in our management system to keep a record of not only the chances we've offered but to monitor whether or not the customer has fulfilled their promise. It takes multiple missed payments and broken promises before we conclude repossession it the only way to proceed. If one of our accounts has been repossessed it's only because we have exhausted relief efforts and they have chosen to become unresponsive to our assistance.
We never deny a reasonabIe request, if someone needs help and makes a legitimate effort to bring their account current we are willing to help. However in some instances customers simply couldn't bring the account current due to unforeseen personal situations. As much as we strive to be as sympathetic as possible we cannot help to the point where it becomes detrimental to the health of our business. We are certain this is an acceptable way to manage accounts and are sure you will agree.
So please take it to heart when you make your choice to visit Dave's. We assure you our hands on approach and goodwill will be immediately evident. Most people leave saying this is the easiest place to purchase a vehicle they've ever been to. Even those leaving negative reviews mention purchasing multiple vehicles at different times. Some left previous good reviews prior to their negative reviews. Would you continue to do business with someone that wasn't fair and honest? If we've been accurately accused of anything it's honesty. We'll even welcome you back after you've been repossessed and offer you another chance as long as you've been fair and considerate with us.
We purchased our third vehicle from dave within the 3rd day it was towed with tranny problems. When we bought the truck we asked if mechanic looked at it he claimed they didnt have a mechanic. Within a month we had to rig the spark plug for 400 just to be able to drive it. We were told the vehicle needed a new head and had 2 bolts broken off or missing in the manifold. The mechanic said the truck was dangerous because the front bearings were so bad they were roaring. At 1500 the truck shook so bad you could hardly handle it. Dave said we would have to wait for about a month for his mechanic(remember he claimed he didnt have a mechanic) to look at it because the mechanic tried to rip us off. Lol i have an associates degree in mechanics so that was not true. I limped the truck to him over a month later on a saturday he said they would look at it thursday. I called thursday he was nasty and told me i wasnt his priority because it took me so long to get it to him after he told me i had to wait. Now he claimed that it would be 2 weeks to look at it. Which consequently was when the right to cure kicked in. So i went and got the truck. He came and got it a couple days ago. We also had a sequoia from him for over a year. So 2 days later he came and took it from my job. When i called after 4 hours he finally had the balls to answer the phone and said he conveniently never received the payment. Which has never been a problem before. I made the payment like i told him i would. When i confronted him that he did it because of the truck that needed over 3000 in repairs that i refused to pay for he claimed that he took the sequoia and was demanding the loan in full to get it back because i was a "bad" customer. Funny a couple of.months ago i was a great customer and he financed me for the second vehicle. How convenient. So this lesson has cost me over 7000. Whatever you do dont go to him he is a tempermental crook. We have had other people contact us that they had him do the same thing to them. Just looked on his website he is selling the crap truck we bought from him. Do not buy the gray 2002 f150 that he claims has 133xxx miles on it unless you have it completely inspected he had it rigged to sell to us. Also the miles are about 3000 off. And he will sell it exempt, BEWARE!!!!!
We found Dave's about 2 years ago on Craigslist and so glad we did. We have never been treated so well and had such a great buying experience. Our first vehicle was great and now we just got another one from him and are very happy. As long as you stay in touch with him on any issues being late he he never gives you any grief. The bad reviews on here are ridiculous, consider the source and why they are upset. If you do what you should with your payments and insurance you will never have a problem!! We would recommend him to anyone that wants a quality vehicle and fair treatment
I financed a car from Daves Main Street Motors. I was consistently 1 to 14 days late on my payments. Literally EVERY time. I would say the same about my phone bill which is quite a lot more than my car payment. Also, Ive financed from a local competitor and was treated 100% differently by the 2 in the same situation (being past due). It's obvious that if you become past due with Main Street Motors, they lose respect for you. The circumstances of being past due DO NOT MATTER. I have been treated completely unprofessional by Dave. He is a stereotypical used car salesman. I'm sure he will respond to this with "his side" or some other complete non sense but thats how he is. Unaccountable and he feels completely justified in treating me with HATE due to being past due. Good times (not really). God Bless!
I had to buy a car quick after my car was totaled in an accident. I didn't need any financing so I can't say anything about that process but I was happy with the service I received. It was perfect for the kind of car I was looking for.
I bought two vehicles from Daves. Having less than perfect credit, I needed a reliable vehicle. I found that buying a vehicle from Daves was quick and I was treated fairly and the people are honest in their dealings. There were a couple of times I knew I would be late with a payment, so I called them and they worked with me. I would definitely recommend Daves in Brighton. I'm a 'no frills' kind of guy, I hate wasting hours at a car dealership, but I like being treated fairly and dealt with honestly, this is definitely the place to go.
A friend of mine recommended Dave's Main Street Motors after they bought a truck there. They were extremely pleased and now so am I. I too was looking for a nice used truck and found exactly what I was looking for.
I got no hassle service and felt no pressure what so ever. I was able to take my time and make my own decision and drove away with a great truck.
the guy who owns this place (dave) is a total jerk and bully! at one point when i called about a late payment(I'm a single parent!), he absolutely SCREAMED at me, I've never been treated so bad!! the car was bought by myself and my ex, other than the one time, our payments were on time, (i didnt want to be yelled at again!). whats worse, my ex didint have insurance on the car for about a month, the car was repo'd, and they refused to make an appointment for him to retrieve his personal property!!!!!!!!! Including his wallet and I needed formula for my baby! Thanks Dave!! such a gentleman....
So Far So Good – Nothing to complain about. The application process was easy and I was approved despite having bad credit. My car had a check engine light on a few days after I bought it and they fixed it. Turned out to be a bad gas cap. I mention it only because I expected them to be tell me I bought the car as is. But they offered to scan it without a hassle. Laid back and easy to deal with. I never felt like the pressure was on.
good customer service – Thanks for staying late Friday night so I could buy a car!
