The perfect, intimate yoga spot! – After recently moving to San Diego (from the far off land of Orange County), I knew I needed some rejuvenation. I've been an active participant of the art of yoga for over three years now and I've found that the right studio can make all the difference in the world.

A friend from college suggested I try going to Akasha with her and taking a Vinyasa Flow class with her. Being on a budget (like most), I searched online and found Mind Body partnerships that offered 5 Akasha yoga classes at a discounted rate...that made the decision to check it out easy.

Sara and I headed to her regular Monday evening class with Maya and had a wonderful and relaxing time. I've since then taken all five classes and continue to check out other instructors (if I can't make it on Mondays). I love the flexibility (no pun intended) of being able to purchase a group of classes and come whenever is convenient to me...knowing I'll have an enjoyable experience every time.

Wonderful Yoga Studio – I found Akasha Yoga while wandering around UTC when I first moved to San Diego. (It was a little hard to find but it's down the hill from the Whole Foods). I stopped in and the people there were really friendly and down to earth. It didn't have a false, new-agey vibe and it certainly didn't feel like a large athletic gym. The prices were shockingly reasonable (new student special was 5 classes for $30) and the atmosphere was beautiful and intimate. Two of the studio walls are windows and since it's on the second floor you get a nice view of the tree tops. My favorite part of the studio is the teachers... they do a really good job of incorporating the philosophy of yoga into the postures and they encourage you to be open to whatever it is you're feeling. And they take the time to make sure you don't hurt yourself. (I was happy about that because I'm never quite sure if I'm doing things correctly). I'm very grateful to have found this place.
