Editorial Review – Just off the N Judah Muni line, this salon specializes in cut-and-color and has a loyal following of happy clients.
Beautiful hair! – I've been going here for the last couple of years and I love it! The place is small, but really cute and trendy. JImmy and Jonathan are both amazing at cutting hair. I always feel really great afterwards and my hair always looks good even after it has grown out.
CHERYL is best stylist!!!!! – I have passed by the salon many times and always seen the cute petite girl by the window doing someone's hair with the newest style. I finally made an appointment with CHERYL and when I met her in person she was fabulous. She was unpretentious and made me feel so comfortable and helped me to figure out what I wanted to do with my hair. She gave me the best highlights and haircut that I have ever received and even fixed the crappy haircut that I had gotten from another salon. Cheryl was up to date on all the newest trends and always knows what to do with my hair. My husband loves the haircuts that he gets from her too. Cheryl is the best hairstylist there and so great with color!!!! I would recommend Cheryl to anyone! and everyone !!!!
I LOVE THIS SALON!!! DOWNTOWN SERVICE AND QUALITY WITH A LOWER PRICE, RIGHT IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD!!! – I love this salon!!! They are wonderful with color. The deciding factor for me always is that the stylists listen!! Which can be hard to find. I always go in wanting something a little different, maybe a little edgier. I just explain what it is I have in mind and my stylist makes suggestions and gives me a straight answer on whether or not she thinks it could work for me.
Visit EightThirtySeven if you want a quality, trendy hairstyle. – I've been to many stylists over the years but I have to say, i've had the best experience at EightThirtySeven. Aurora stlyed my hair and at first i didnt know how i wanted it done. She suggested a few things to match my face and frame but still keep me trendy. I can not say enough positive things about my new hairstyle and the environment of the place. It kept with the San Francisco spirit and now i have a an awesome hairstyle that i continue to get compliments on.
Best Kept Secret In SF!! – Been to Eight Thirty Seven many times...They are great. There's always parking and they are great about fitting you in. I saw Aurora last time (she's the new stylist there) and she made me look awesome. My hair still feels healthy, and the color is amaizing! Thanks!
The atmosphere is relaxed and fun!! Jimmy (the owner/stylist) just had new T.V.s installed and they blast the newest videos. If you are waiting they have an X-box to keep you busy!! I definitely reccomend!!
Jimmy Knows Hair!! – Jimmy is the first person I've had more than 3 consecutive cuts with in 5 years! Honestly, I've tried them all--Aveda, Axelrose, Vidal Sasoon, and usually by the third cut seems to be the unlucky number...when I say what on earth did this person do to my hair? Were they drunk or having a bad day when they put the scissors or razor to my hair?? And that's when I was paying $75+ a cut. Jimmy is great at $50 a cut. He consistently gives me great style, even when I tell him I want a stylish cut that I don't have to do anything with. He's done my color once--great highlights and base color!! but completely understands that I can only afford to get the full monty once a year! I highly recommend Eight Thirty Seven.
Relaxed, trendy, Up to date, EXCELLENT customer service, In Sunset dist.!! – OMG!!! I just got my hair done at EightThirtySeven and I am so happy with the results. I can't believe I missed this salon for so long! I had a cut, and some carmel highlights added to my hair. I feel like a new woman. Everyone there is friendly, and totally confident. If you are looking for a place where you are welcomed and don't want to have to wear your most expensive outfit to go have your hair done...you should go to EightThirtySeven.
Excellent Salon with easy-going atmosphere – This place is great and I'll go back again! I've gotten my hair cut and colored at 837 2x already and Cheryl did an excellent job. Natural looking, easy to manage, and totally up to date- exactly what I wanted. Both Jimmy and Cheryl are "in the know" about todays styles- funky, fun colors and do's. But the clients here are from all ages and places. No snobbiness here! You can come in sweats, jeans or Gucci- you'll be treated the same- with respect, honesty, and a great do! No sales pressure to purchase salon items. The prices are reasonable for the city- $145 for cut and color.
Overpriced for average neighborhood salo – I paid $45++ for a haircut here. The good thing is that it's easy to get booked because they're quite empty. Amida cut my hair and gave me highlights ($95++). She is extremely friendly and pleasant. However the highlights looked too stark and I was going for a more natural, understated look. I ended up looking a bit trashy. I think this is just a very lowkey neighborhood place and you should only go if you are getting "maintenance" simple haircuts but not if you are looking for something transformative or hip. And they charge too much for the kind of neighborhood place they are!
