Very Disapointed – I have to say that Carrabbas use to be my all time favorite resterant. I am from the Florence area of South Carolina and I use to drive 2 hours to Myrtle Beach just to eat at Carrabbas. That is how much I loved it. Im not an Olive Garden fan.
Since I have moved to Greenville about 5 years ago my Husband and I have eaten at Carrabbas at least 1 to 2 time per month. If not more. We always eath there for Birthdays and special events. That is how much we love the food. However we have eaten there 5 times since Thanksgiving and have been very unhappy. I usually order the Chicken Marsala bc no other resturant can compare but not recently. The last 2 times that I ordered it it came back dry. Against my judgement I did send it back and the manager came over which was a young girl and basically treated me like I was strange. I could understand I it was a new dish for me but come on Thats all I eat when I go there. On top of that ther service lately has stunk. My husband and I at there the night before Valentines. We purposly waited until 9:30 for dinner bc we knew they would be busy. They were at prob 1/3 occupancy and we waited forever to give our order. Suposidly we were suppose to have a specific waited but we never saw him. 3 waitresses came by to see if he had been by before one of them botherd to wait on us. Not the romantic experiance I wanted for Valentines. Drinks kept staying empty and our food was cold. NOT happy at all. I think we need to find another Italian resturant in Greenville. Any ideas?
Consisitently the best food and excellent staff!! – My husband and I have been dining here for about a year now. Only one time during this duration did we ever have a slow learning staff member. The other 12 plus times, the food is very, very consistently good. The staff is very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I highly recommend this restaurant!
An open kitchen churns out wood-fired pizzas and fresh-made pastas at this casual Sicilian-American chain. – In Short
Decorated with family photos of founders Damian Mandola and Johnny Carrabba, the open dining rooms pack groups of friends and extended families into four- and six-person tables and booths; smaller parties or couples can grab stools at the open kitchen's adjoining bar to watch chefs make dinner. The traditional southern Italian menu offers grill specialties like steak Marsala and fire-roasted chicken breast with sun-dried tomatoes; pasta dishes include fettuccine Alfredo and garlic-sauteed shrimp with linguine.
Reservations don't work. Expect to wait one hour to be seated, either way. – We have tried making reservations and showing up 10 minutes early vs. showing up without one. Either way we waited ONE HOUR.
Meanwhile, we watched parties show up and get seated IMMEDIATELY!!! People "in the clique" are greeted enthusiastically and get taken immediately to a table. AHEAD of those already there WITH reservations.
Once seated, one gets entertained by a slow, dysfunctional wait staff. Orders do not get taken correctly. Food appears at the table SLOWLY, and often it is not what was ordered.
Someone on heavy medication might enjoy this dining experience. So, if this sounds like your kind of place, -ENJOY!!!
