A neon-lit trip back to the Eisenhower era comes with burgers, shakes and fries. – In Short
Vintage Coca-Cola ads and posters of Life magazine covers succinctly summon up the 1950s, as do this diner's mini-jukeboxes, red vinyl counter stools and sock-hopping staff. Besides fast food staples like hot dogs, cheeseburgers, tuna melts and onion rings, options like the Streamliner (a grilled veggie patty) acknowledge more modern dietary concerns. Even better for kids, sandwiches come wrapped in paper jackets and nearly everything is served on paper plates. No spills. No breaks. No tears.
my kids loved it – Boy oh boy did my kids love this place when they were little. Always so busy and free balloons, and special kids menus. I liked it too, because they had the juiciest hamburgers I could find. Now-adays, they have dropped the kids menus, and are a lot less busy. Something is missing. Once upon a time staff gave out balloons, coins for jukebox, and were very attentive. Fries are still outstanding, but staff are no longer on a roll, and are noticeably less attentive. Food is good, but but the aura of enthusiastic staff is missing. Hamburger costs about six dollars without fries or drink.
