Dr. Haque is truly a rare and exceptional physician. In fact, I believe the word "exceptional" to be an understatement. For literally 20 years, I suffered tremendously from gastrointestinal problems without ever receiving a satisfactory diagnosis from any of the half-dozen or so gastrointestinal specialists I've seen, nor any other specialist I have seen, and I have seen many to say the least. I did, however, get put through the ringer by all of those doctors, who never failed to recommend numerous expensive and inconvenient tests, including more than 10 colonoscopies over the course of the past 12 years, with 4 separate doctors. On a recommendation from my mother, who has also seen her share of medical professionals (my family is particularly prone to health problems unfortunately), I visited Dr. Haque, because hey, it couldn't hurt, right? About 10 minutes into a very amiable conversation about my symptoms, during which Dr. Haque very clearly paid attention to and scrutinized every detail I offered, he announced that he was quite confident that I suffered from a digestive enzyme deficiency, and also likely had accompanying and related problems with my gallbladder and pancreas. Please let me reiterate: *ten minutes.* After 20 years of no answers, this man took 10 minutes to listen carefully, and apply his considerable expertise. After following his recommendations and using the prescriptions he gave me, it took hardly a week for my symptoms to subside approximately 90%, and I have not felt more energized and positive in my entire life. If my admittedly lengthy post here seems a tad dramatic, it is only because of how strongly I feel regarding Dr. Haque's qualifications, and also to offer hope to others in similar circumstances. My life up to this point was day after day of chronic diarrhea, cramps, nausea, fatigue and poor nutrient absorption despite a very healthy diet. My Junior year of college I lost all of my academic scholarships and grants due to a medical withdrawal I was forced to take because of my symptoms. Now, because of this doctor, I have a legitimate cause to hope that I might regain my academic standing (majoring in mechanical engineering and physics, previous GPA of 3.6), finish school, and move on to a great career and a normal life.
Dr. Nasir Haque is an excellent physician the best in TN from my viewpoint! I am in the healthcare business and I have seen the lives he saves. Wonderful human being and cares about everyone even if they are not able to pay there bill at the time! Sorry Mary you had a bad experience but I do NOT agree that he is greedy! I apologize if the staff was unprofessional but he is always professional! He is the best and I would trust him with my life and the lives of my family! Love Dr. Nasir Haque…he is the best doctor in Memphis TN!
Exceptional Doctor! He takes his time and extremely thorough. You may have to wait but he gives all patients the time they need. Additionally I saw a review that called him greedy, I totally disagree, he is thorough and want to know certain things about you and will make sure it is done. This is so that he can provide the best care. For example, he wanted to check my vitamin D levels since learning that deficiency have been linked to cancers. He checked that and it was extremely low and solved; this was the first doctor to do that in my life. After reading up, he was right! After all of my tests, it is routine service and he keeps you at your maximum health. Amazing and caring.
An Angel In a Lab Coat – I feel so blessed to be Dr. Haque's patient. He is an excellent doctor and he saved my life. I went to the ER two months ago after a series of mini-strokes. The ER staff felt nothing was wrong with me and were going to send me home. Dr. Haque happened to be walking through the ER that afternoon and took the time to ask me what was wrong. We had never met. He asked me very targeted questions and after talking with me for about ten minutes he had me admitted to the hospital. I ended up having a coagulation disorder and a hole in my heart. I was in the hospital for eight days. Had it not been for Dr. Haque I would have been released from the ER that day. I was told my next stroke could have been a major one and might have killed me. I would have been dead at 43 with three young children. Dr. haque saved my life that day. He was the only doctor who took the time to listen to what I had to say and review all my symptoms. I'd rather wait two hours in his waiting room to see him than get seen right away by a doctor who doesn't listen to what I have to say.
Great Doctor – I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Haque. First and foremost he is a brilliant and highly respected Doctor. He works hard and does not give up if there are options for a cure. He has helped many people who I have referred regardless of their ability to pay. We are lucky to have him nearby.
In The Practice of Being Greedy and Uncaring (My Opinion) – by M. McCrery 07/13/2011
Negative 10 Stars
This morning (7/13/2011) I was denied the opportunity to see the nurse at Dr Haque's office because I did not have a twelve dollar co pay at that moment. What is most upsetting to me is that had the nurse not forgotten to write refills for my prescription on my last visit I would not have had to go there this morning in the first place. On top of that, I'm trying patiently to explain this to the receptionist when I called shortly after leaving the building, and she put me on hold for 10 minutes.
After finally hanging up, I called again and guess what... she did it again. I can't believe this just happened and all because they don't want to bill me twelve dollars after as much as Tri Care has paid them on my behalf in the past few months? My husband actually went to war in the Middle East and retired from the U S Army to qualify for these benefits and for the first time ever we can't make a co pay same day, this is the thanks? Well... thanks for nothing! In the meantime, I am out of my medication because even though I can make the co pay on Friday, the nurse wont be in again until next Wednesday and the doctor, it seems, is always out. I'm changing my Primary Care doctor and I would not recommend this place to anyone
Best Doctor in Memphis!!!!! – Dr. Haque is an amazing Doctor. I have not experienced a doctor with his level of excellence. He truly cares for all his patients. His level care far exceeds that of so many doctors that I had met. And he wants to" get to the root problem" and find out why you are ill. And if he can't figure it out he will research and find you the best doctor. His staff is also caring and very good. Just prepared to wait for a little while to see him. He takes his time with his patients. He is just a wonderful doctor and person.
Haque, Nasir, MD - Germantown Internal Medicine – I highly recommend Dr. Haque as an internist. He was my primary doctor in the hospital when I had a bad staph infection and almost died. I attribute him with saving my life, as he was persistent about running tests and getting to the bottom of the problem so I could get proper treatment. He's a wonderful doctor, a patient advocate and anyone should feel safe in his hands.
