Poor Service with Food to Match – A friend and I along with her two daughters had lunch here this weekend, though should have kept on driving. Our waitress was unfriendly and seemed burdened by us. The food was forgettable, very bland. I will not return.
Old-fashioned hamburgers, laid-back Austin setting. – In Short
This no-frills hamburger joint opened on Congress in 1976 and now has several locations. Creaky hardwood floors and big wooden chairs make up a causal environment where buddies relax with suds and grub. Old photographs and signs decorate the walls, reminding you of the days of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Willie Nelson. Everything is made to order. Aside from the famous burgers and fries, regulars crave the Texas Philly sandwich and queso chopped steak.
Earvybody gettin tipsy – Not a bad place to eat, but why eat when you can drink? Tuesday nights represent the best of the best when it comes to Happy Hour & Drink speicals throughout Austin (despite its lack of represenation on Citysearch) and the Round Rock Waterloo is rock solid with $2 pints. I'm a Boddingtons Man myself (reg. like $5 a pint...al la Ringers Downtown), but they have 40 Beers to choose from, ALL $2 ALL Tuesday. Your girl won't be mad if she catches you checking the score on their half dozen TVs after she's knocked back a few $2 Texas Lemonades or $2 Cosmo's. All Apps are $2 off as well. Works out nice when chips and salsa is $2.50 reg...you do the math. And wings... $0.25 ea. Anyway, everybody's poor sometimes, but for me its a course of habit and cheap beer is always the best (legal) solution. Cheers!
User review by holamacaroni – let's leave waterloo in austin and the austin will remain in waterloo
Go North, young man! – The Round Rock location of Waterloo Ice House is just as good as the others. The only thing I would recommend they do is get the shake machine hooked up with chocolate-cinnamon shakes. It's my favorite item on the menu besides the chicken-fried steak!
Kids will love this location, not only for the playground, but for the railroad car dining.
