Thank you for giving me an opportunity to share with you my experience at CITY BARK .

My name is Yogi ( named after Yogi Berra ) and am a pug that has been a guest at City Bark for 10 years. I was trained with Kari Bastyr when I was shy puppy. I started going after I was trained and still sit in the corner and observe other four legged friends. You see, I'm not really sure I'm a dog. My mother dresses me up on Halloween and have won many costume contests at City Bark.

My mother thought it would be a good idea to rescue a pug so I have a brother named, Buddah. He definitely knows he's a dog. He plays with other dogs, smells their behind, and snores really loud when he gets in the car after he has played at City Bark all day.

I know that City Bark is a special place because I over hear my mom ask the staff if my brother and I played well with other dogs. She even calls in the middle of the day to check on us.

Please continue to strive to be the best and HAPPY 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF TAKING CARE OF US !

Love and hugs,

Hello - My name is Nelson, and I am a five year old Great Dane. Several times a week I get to go to City Bark, and it is my most favorite place! At City Bark I get to play with my friends, explore the backyard, wade in the pool, and nap in the sun. The best part is that I get LOTS of attention from the great people that work there. On special occasions I get to stay at City Bark for a sleepover. Sleepovers are the best!! I am so lucky that City Bark is here in Denver. I know my people feel good about letting me spend time there.

Almost perfect puppy-car – I've been using this doggy day car group for a while, so needless to say, I am overall pretty happy with the service. My only criticism would be the web cams for which one is able to watch their pet. During all three stays so far, I have seen my dog in action once over the course of 12 days. This leads me to feel uneasy about the experience, in that I don't know whether my dog is actually getting the play time I both pay for and he needs. The cameras are sitting at strange angles, and the image quality isn't the best - so even if I DO spot my dog, I'm not even positive that it is in fact my my and not some other pooch of the same breed. My advice for the company is to update its webcam equipment and have someone more professionally-able to install it. When my dog comes home, he seems happy and well cared for. I just don't think the website should boast "live webcam feed of your dog!" if the cameras suck as bad as they do.

Great daycare – We have been taking our black labrador to city bark since we adopted him four years ago. When you meet people that care about your dogs you can see that right away. Whenever I pick him up you could tell that he is very happy and well cared for. As far as the other review, it's unfortunate that someone had a bad experience, but like all businesses- you can't please everyone and hopefully they found the right place for themselves. I think it's a great place!

Wonderful, Caring Staff – City Bark and its staff are amazing!

My husband and I are both busy and active people and at least one night a week we both find ourselves not able to be home in the evening and were feeling awful about leaving Remy (our black lab and pointer mix furbaby) at home all day and evening without us. Then we found City Bark.

At first I was VERY apprehensive of the idea of leaving Remy at some random doggy daycare facility with strangers. But my apprehension quickly went away when I got to see the wonderful and caring staff. Remy has been going to City Bark for about a year and loves it. Although Remy only comes in once a week, the staff all recognize him and make him feel at home (but better and with a pool)!

I also like that the staff always reports on how the day went and make mention of anything that may of happened, regardless of how minor it may seem. It makes me 100% comfortable with leaving him in their care.

I would reccomend City Bark-Denver to anyone that is looking for a doggy day care place.

Excellent service and care. I 100% trust the staff there wi – I have been taking my 6-lb miniature dachshund to City Bark for almost a year, and it's been a blessing. I was very worried about leaving her there, given how small she is. But the staff was very attentive to her needs, and she has grown to be very comfortable there. The 8th avenue location is particularly good for small dogs because of their high volume and greater likelihood of having small dog groups on a regular basis. She has never come home with an injury or anything like that. And if even the most minor thing happens, I hear about it. I've boarded her there for up to 10 days, and she's done magnificently. In the past, she's been so anxious about separations that she's stopped eating.

My dog is a happier and healthier dog than she was one year ago. She more socialized to humans and other dogs alike, and she gets plenty of exercise from going in a couple days a week. On the days that she is at home, she's exhausted and sleeps for most of the day. She also sleeps well through the night and no longer wakes me up.

I highly recommend this place to friends and work colleagues who ask about doggy day care.

Amazing Place! – I can not say enough about the staff and facility at City Bark, these are people who truly care about your pets and their well being. We've had the pleasure of taking our chocolate lab, Charlie to city bark for doggie day care as well as boarding. He's a rescue from Safe Harbor Lab Rescue, and is very afraid of new situations. But the staff here have done a wonderful job of working with his issues and making sure that he has a fun and playful time during his stays.

They keep a detailed record of everything and are the first to tell you that your dogs vaccines are almost up. They also know each dog by name as they come in the door. What's even more amazing is how closely the staff watches the dogs. Charlie can have extremely high anxiety sometimes, but the owner and staff not only called to let us know what was going on, they were also kind enough to let him relax with them in the office when his anxiety got the best of him.

I would never take my dog anywhere else, and I feel confident in City Bark's treatment and care of him. If you're looking for a place that is clean and professional, but will still love your dog, this is the place to go!

Sometimes I Wish I Could Go To Doggie Daycare! – Blanket started going to Doggy Daycare when she was just 6 months old. She loves it there so much that when she sees where we are going, she goes crazy, literally jumping out of the car and into daycare.

They have different playstations for the pups, and they try to group similar dogs together. For example, my pup LOVES to play all day long, so they place her in a very active group with other playful dogs.

There are doggy cams throughout, so I know that Blanket is safe, being cared for and well attended to. I often pull her up on the internet and show my coworkers what she is doing at doggy daycare.

Blanket is so happily exhausted after a day at doggy daycare that she falls asleep the minute she gets in the car. Doggy daycare is a perfect way to make sure that your pup knows you love them, while still allowing yourself to have a night out on the town without your home being destroyed by a bored puppy.

City Bark is the best!

Helps with my personal guilt!!! – My dog Sophie has been going to City Bark for about a year now and I am very grateful for their help! I feel extremely guilty of leaving Sophie at home during the day or the nights that I have dinner plans or errands and can't spend as much time with her. But City Bark really helps keep both of us happy!!! When I pick up Sophie after a day at City Bark, she waddles to the car like a little Eeyore and falls asleep in the back seat before we even make it home. The rest of the night she sleeps from being so active all day!

On the mornings I take her to daycare, she is alert and excited to get in the car. When we get into the lobby of City Bark she is off to the playrooms without hesitation. This reassures me that she is getting the best care and having a lot of fun in their hands!

For wary parents, they do have "pet cams" in their playrooms. And I do check it every now and then during the day to watch Sophie playing. Makes me laugh at my desk and eases any worries I have :)

Sophie is adopted and comes from a home of previous abuse. While trusting strangers is not always easy for her and still makes her nervous, it warms my heart to see her interact with the employees.

This year at the Dumb Friends League's Furry Scurry in Wash Park, we ran into Sophie's "favorite teacher", Miranda, at the City Bark booth. We were immediately met with greetings and Sophie was lovingly showered with affection. It really made me feel good to see that the even outside of City Bark, the employees know and love the dogs, and you could see that in Sophie's returned trust and affection.

I am very protective when it comes to my little mutt and did a lot of initial research to ensure that I was leaving her in the best hands. I also choose to board Sophie there when I am out of town because I trust them to follow my instructions.

Sophie is a little petri-dish and has came home with kennel cough systems and I was asked not to bring her back for 10-days to ensure that she wasn't contagious. And while at first I was frustrated by the whole ordeal, I am now grateful that she was kicked out to ensure that there no further contamination and that they take the health of the dogs seriously.

They also remind me when Sophie's vaccination's are coming due, which show me organization and being on top of their business rules.

I completely recommend City Bark for protective pet parents!

I TAKE EXCEPTION ! – I read the review entitled "Doggie ABUSE" and felt compelled to write a review about my experience at City Bark. No one ever wants to see a dog get injured. Realistically however, whenever you put a group of dogs together, there is always a possibility of injury during play or by a dog that is misbehaving. That is why I take exception with the conclusion that an injury to a pet at a daycare/boarding facility is tantamount to “Doggie Abuse” or neglect.

With that said, it has been my experience that City Bark staff does everything within their power to prevent any animal from being injured. My dog has been going to City Bark 3 days a week for the last 5 years and regularly boards at the 8th Avenue location. During that period of time I have seen dogs denied admission to City Bark as a result of their behavior during the initial interview process; staff strictly but gently enforcing behavior compliance; stimulating the dogs with appropriate play; enforcing nap time; putting dogs that are misbehaving in “time-out” to encourage behavior modification; and the day care manager gently taking an owner aside and explaining that for the safety of other animals, their dog will no longer be able to come to day care (but in turn giving the owner suggestions and resources of things they can do to address the dog’s behavior issues.

Aside from the above, in the event an animal is injured, a daycare staff should act with the utmost compassion and care. I recently experienced this when my dog was unfortunately bitten by another dog while attending day care. Although my dog showed no signs of injury the staff noticed she was licking her side. Upon closer observation the staff member saw that she had an open wound, although she didn’t appear to be bleeding. I was immediately called and informed of the situation. One staff member took my dog to the vet while the owner reviewed video to see if she could determine how my dog was injured. Although very shaken upon hearing the news (my dog is the most important thing in my life), the daycare manager and the owner both spoke to me on the phone and thoroughly explained what they believe happened and what was being done to care for my dog --- this brought me a tremendous sense of security and comfort that my dog was getting the best care available, particularity given that I was out of town on vacation. The vet called me and spoke to me for a lengthy period of time, and explained that my dog’s wound would be stapled and she should have warm compresses put on her wound and given medication for the injury. Knowing that I was out of town and unable to get a flight back to Denver until the next morning, the owner of City Bark told me that she felt it would be best for her to take my dog (a Doberman Pinscher) home to spend the night with her and her family so that she could get round the clock care. When I returned to Denver the next day, I picked up my dog from the home of City Bark’s owner. She had obviously been treated like a princess (which she is) and she couldn’t have been happier! She returned to daycare two weeks later after her wound healed. During that period of time I received calls from both the owner of the day care and the manager to see how my dog was doing and to express how bad they felt that she had been bitten.

Ultimately, as pet owners we take a risk when we send our dogs to daycare – so make sure you chose a day care like City Bark that has professional, trained and compassionate staff that provide the most secure environment possible.
