this place was catchy considering they carry parts for pc's not even best buy does, BUT first thing I noticed is that the store looked like thrift shop then i noticed prices were 20-30% more expensive then fry's or newegg (which is free shipping on most items)...AND THE WORST PART.... the owner had his daughter follow me and my wife around as if we were going to steal...i was 19 at the time and pissed me off soooooo much i never went there again...THANK GOD THEY CLOSED DOWN!!! the reason im writing this review is hopefully they read this and realize were they went wrong...dont have your daughter follow customers around the store..uncomfortable...and ultimately thats what you guys get....CLOSED DOWN!
All Digital is the anti-thesis of customer care..........
I went to my locally owned computer hardware retailer, All Digital, to find a solution to my task of obtaining a suitable print server for my Canon all-in-one.
Upon describing the hardware that I currently own, I was shown a print server and was assured that this model would be compatible.
I took my new print server home but could not get it to function. After looking at the manufacturer's website, I found that not only was the new hardware incompatible with all-in-ones , it wasn't even current. My new print server had already been replaced by a model that was more current.
After the owner expressed astonishment that their recommended server would not work, I was told that most print servers work 99.9% of the time and that it must be user error. Though I knew differently, I felt demeaned and unwelcome. Though the co-owner took time to phone a few sources to see if the compatible unit was available, the owner made it plain that a refund would be subject to a 20% re-stocking fee. This item was $129 (though the unit from the box store was $99) so the fee to return the item that THEY pulled off the shelf and sold to me was $26. Apparently, keeping my money to pay their overhead has priority over delivering good customer service and my product needs.
I took what was left of my refund down the street to the box store that had the proper hardware, had knowledgeable staffing and made sure to let me know that I could call if I needed tech support and even offered in-home set-up for a charge if so desired.
Though I put a premium on patronizing independently-owned local businesses (some of which are excellent), All Digital is the anti-thesis of customer care. The owner was highly arrogant and I was made to feel like I was cheating them.
I just wanted to use this forum to vent my experience and share my $26 lesson with others.
