Got order wrong & hung up on me – I placed a pick up order for Baked Ziti. When I got it home, it did not have any cheese on it. I called to let them know of the mistake and they said that I asked for Ziti with marinara sauce. I proceeded to let them know it was their mistake and had given me the wrong order. They responded by hanging up on me. We found them rude the first time we ate there, but continued to give them the benefit of the doubt. This is absolutely unacceptable!
Decent pizza but RUDE service – The pizza is better than expected and tastes like NY pizza. However, the service is HORRIBLE. First - When I asked for more garlic bread, the server mumbled that I would "have to take it up with the owner". HUH? He then said that I needed to go to the register. Okay, fine. But, I can think of several ways that he could have stated it in a more friendly manner. Second - I noticed the young man behind the counter cutting a slice of pizza into squares for a child. When I asked if he could do the same for my 2-year old daughter, he replied, "Well, that was the owner's daughter. That's the only reason I did it for her". He begrudgingly cut the pizza for me, only after I told him he must be kidding me. This is the first time I've ever written a review on Citysearch, but I felt compelled to let fellow diners know how horribly rude the workers are at this place. I will not go back!
ATTITUDES-THE OWNER, THE MANAGER AND THE STAFF – I chose to eat here Saturday the 9th and I will NEVER make that mistake again. All I can say is that I was given attitude by the entire staff because I wanted cheese on my Chef salad. When the rude food runner brought my salad, I asked for some cheese and he responded "The owner does not allow us to put cheese on salads" He was NOT nice and laughed as he walked away so this got under my skin but I remained calm because I have been in the food industry myself and I know how things can be at times. Anyway, I spoke with the manager and asked him could I have cheese if I paid extra and he was rude also. He stated the same thing the runner boy stated. I asked if I could get my money back and he said "No you have already put dressing on your salad" At this point, I was getting more attitude then I deserved so we left. I finally reached the owner yesterday, who is as uncaring as the rest of his staff. He told me some crazy story that he had me on video and that I had ate the whole salad(which I only took one bite of) and that it was my fault. After he yelled at me for about 2 minutes, I apologized to him because it was at that point that I realized why his restaraunt was the only one dead at 7:30 on Saturday night. This in NOT a family friendly place to eat nor do they thrive on CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Don't Waste Your Money – I went to this restaurant for the first time for lunch about 1:30pm on December 12, 2007 and it was not busy at all. I stood at the counter waiting to order and several staff passed by without saying anything. That should have been my clue to turn around and leave, but I did not. Finally, a man, in a dirty t-shirt, came to the counter and he mumbled something and I replied I did not hear you. He then said what can I get you in not a friendly tone. There was my second red flag, but I ignored it. I ordred Lasagna, costed about $8:50. It took forever for them to bring it and when they did it was a piece of pasta, not layered, with sauce poured on it. I took it back and asked if it was Lasagna. He replied that's how we make it. I took it back to my table and tasted it and it tasted horrible, so I took back and ask that it be replaced with a cheaper slice of pizza. The response I got "if you buy a slice of pizza, I am not giving you a slice". He then accused me in front of other customers of letting the plate sit and get cold. I tried to explain to him that I had been waiting and if it was cold it was because it was sitting waiting to be brought to me. The man who brought me the food was standing there , looking everywhere except at me, when he was accusing me and did not acknowledge that he had just brought the food. The man in the dirty t-shirt was rude and loud. I place the plate on the counter and left. I paid almost $8:50 for some lettuce and tomatoes because that was all that was in the salad that I ate. The bread was burnt, so I could not eat it. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The customer service was worse than zero. I have never in my life seen anyone make Lasagna with one peice of pasta. The one peice of pasta would not have been as bad if it tasted okay, but it it tasted bad. If you want to be treated like dirt this is the place for you.
Not worth it – Yeah, the pizza is slightly better than average NC pizza, but it's not worth the surly staff and overall cheap attitude. If you order water, they give you a clear glass to put it in, presumably to make sure that you're not, heaven forbid, stealing soda. They also have a sign up stating that if you eat in the restaurant and then, want a to-go cup for that extra cup of soda to take out the door with you, that you will be charged. If you order a slice of pepperone or mushroom pizza, you'll have no trouble counting the mushrooms or pepperone slices on one hand. Even Sbarro's is better pizza... without the hassle.
"Different" doesn't mean "good". – I don't know why people think this place is so great. The food is not worth the wait, the money, or the attitude you are bound to encounter from employees. The pasta dishes are mediocre, the salads are a joke (as are the sandwiches), and the pizza is greasy with toppings that are anything but "fresh" - unless "fresh out of the can" counts.
IMHO, this place does well ONLY because people are so tired of the major chains and crave something - ANYTHING - out of the ordinary.
Exceptional place – i love this place. me and my mom go every now and again when were shopping at white oak. they have exceptional service. great food. good prices. and they have never been rude or unkind with me. and i go there every month. its a great place to bring you kids, good enviroment, and i have never had a problem with them. there a fantastic restraunt
DON'T EAT HERE!!!!!!! – I honestly don't understand how a place like this can stay in business. My finance was not greeted for 5 minutes upon entering the place, and the guy acted like it was a hassle to take his order. He got the food to go, and about halfway through eating my mediocre, bland calzone, I found a short black hair. When I called to speak to the manager, he was extremely rude to me. All he said he could do for me was make me another one, which I really didn't want after just finding a hair in mine and losing my appetite. When he started yelling and being louder and ruder, I told him to forget it and hung up. He had the audacity to call me back and yell at me, saying that he didn't appreciate ME being rude to HIM, and proceded to cuss me out. I tried to get a word in edgewise, but was unable to do so due to his abusive words and attitude. Having worked in the restaurant industry for several years, I know that customer service is key, and sincerely hope that everyone will stay away from a place like this. People who act like this to OVERpaying customers do not deserve business!
Good NY Style Pizza – These guys have great NY Style Pizza. I have been looking for a place to get a good old fashioned NY style pizza in the Garner area, and I was happy to find Primavera. They are located in the White Oak shopping center, and it is a very informal environment. Great place to take your kids.
Love their Pizza – I grew up in New England, home of great pizza. (greek, italian, NY, sicilian). This is a real good imitation of a NY City pizza "pie"... (however they don't follow through with the NYC tradition of having only 1 size pie..)
I have tried other menu items and am disappointed. The menu in the store is not accurate. They advertise veal, but never have it.. Pastrami is poor.. (not like Kats in times square! Now they know how to make a sandwitch!!!)
The pizza is worth the trip if your in the mood for pizza, I don't recomend anything else there but their pizza!
