Gannon's Pub

Great local irish pub with yummy fish & chips. Great place for something low key with friends or pre-game.

Gannon's Pub

A perfect neighborhood joint w/ a lovely beer garden, decent pub grub, an ample draft list, and super-friendly staff. Come here to watch the game & try the fish & chips!

Nice neighborhood bar – While it has a little competition at the intersection of Cullom/Lincoln (with newcomer Feed the Beast and the Wild Goose), this one has the best neighborhood feel and a nice beer garden in the summer. Drink specials and beer variety are key here, and the pub grub is recommended. Service and getting tables may be scarce at times, but if you catch it on a slower night it's a great place to be.

One room pub that doubles as a casual weekend brunch spot and neighborhood local draws a crowd with daily specials. – The Scene
This local pub near Lincoln Square is as popular as it is unpretentious. The basic interior may not be fancy but hardwood floors, tin plate ceiling, old mirrored bar and wooden narrow high tables for four are comfortable and charming enough. Weekend nights the narrow room fills up quickly with a neighborhood crowd that's nearly on a first-name basis. Service is friendly even amid the demanding humanity.

The Draw
It's tempting to become a regular simply for the daily specials on cocktails, beer, brats and fish and chips. The broad bar menu is inevitably familiar (burgers, pizzas, pretzels and quesadillas also figure in), but there are some minor surprises with the breaded pork Milanese and mustard mashed potatoes. Draft beers range from Miller and Bud to Sierra Nevada, Goose Island and Bell's.

Quite a nice bar – I went on a Sunday afternoon to catch a football game. Nice atmosphere inside. Good choice of daily specials. Sunday was Goose Island beer and chili. Menu was good - nothing too unexpected, but not too plain. Food was very good.

The only problem was that the tvs were too far above the bar - by the end of the game my neck hurt.
