Best service, excellent food – We eat at Todd's often, being locals, and have NEVER had a bad meal or experience there. The seafood (my choice) is always fresh and perfect and the meat entrees (my husband's choice) is always succulent and perfectly prepared. We are visited at the table by Todd almost every time we go there, which makes us feel really special. We have always been treated well and had a GREAT meal. Easy to get there, easy to enjoy.
The Best Food in an unlikely spot! – I found Todd's from searching the Citysearch website and, even though it was a litle drive from the strip where we were staying, it was well worth it. It was about a 10 minute drive toward Henderson and it resides in a little strip mall and you know that it is a locals place, because otherwise you probably wouldn't know about it. Ashley was our server and offered great advice and suggestions from the menu. We skipped the appetizer as we had a late lunch and expected the portions to be adequate and we were right.
My husband had the ahi tuna with mashed potatoes - it was wonderful. I had the kobe skirt steak on fire with chili cheese fries - what a unique combination and it was delicious!
The service was excellent!
The wine list was very good - I had a couple of unique martinis that were delicious and we had a wonderful dessert. This competes with anything on the strip for much less $$$$.
The ambience was charming and quaint, but if we wanted to be impressed with design we would have paid 2 or 3 times as much and dined in one of the overpriced restaurants in the big hotels.
It was a nice diversion and worth the little jaunt!
DRIVE ON OVER TO HENDERSON AND HAVE A GREAT MEAL!!!! – todds is one of my all time favorite places to dine in vegas, in a little strip mall in henderson, is a world class chef showing off his creative and unique dishes, every thing from his salads , to his apps(you have to try his goat cheese wontons with rasberry sauce) pork loin in a apple reduction, skirt steak on fire! just great flavorfull creations, great service , and very reasonable prices.dont miss this place!!
Amazing food and great service – 05/11 On Wednesday nights everyone in Henderson knows that Todd waives the usual $20 corkage fee. This is our favorite Las Vegas restaurant for a number of reasons not the least of which is that Todd is an amazing chef who is creative and only uses seasonal produce and seafood. Prices are more than reasonable given the quality of the dining experience and service that has been consistently nothing short of outstanding. Our wine this evening was a bottle of Blackstone merlot which was fantastic in comparison to the wine we have been drinking on this trip.
We started off with a Dungeness crab cake appetizer which was the best crab cake we have ever encountered albeit a little smaller than I would prefer. For an entrée I ordered Teriyaki halibut which, in season, is always a popular menu item particularly in the Westie household. It was accompanied by coconut rice, a baked tomato, bok choy, beets and an enoki mushroom. Ann’s entrée was a good very rare piece of ahi tuna in a soy garlic sauce that literally melted in her mouth. Accompanying this entrée was a large dollop of waabi mashed potatoes that she refused to share with me. LOL
At the conclusion of the meal Todd stopped by our table to thank us for our continuing patronage as well as to comp us glasses of an after dinner drink made with chocolate from Holland and wine.
12/09 revisit: Todd Clure, the owner/chef of this restaurant, continues to accumulate awards for his innovative cuisine. Unlike other celebrity chefs in Las Vegas, you will find Todd in the kitchen every evening. He also modifies the menu in concert with the availability of fresh fish and produce. We like to dine on Wednesday nights when the normal $20 corkage fee is waived. On this evening we enjoyed a bottle of Los Vacos cabernet sauvignon.
Our server, James, recited the evening’s specials and answered our questions about the menu. We started off by ordering one of Todd’s signature appetizers, Asian dumplings with a soy-garlic dipping sauce. These dumplings were delightfully light and flavorful. He also served us a complimentary appetizer, in appreciation of our continuing patronage, of arancini with tomato sauce that were unlike any we have ever experienced (this is a compliment).
Ann ordered the mahi mahi stuffed with crab served with island rice and an almond sauce. My entrée was South African sea bass with a barley salad and Riesling reduction sauce. Both plates included a roasted tomato, grilled squash, enoki mushrooms, watercress and carrots; a rainbow of textures, colors and flavor. At the end of this feast, I was kicking myself after realizing that I had forgotten to bring an email Ann received for a complimentary dessert in recognition of her birthday. It did not matter because shortly after our plates were cleared, James brought us a complimentary Toddamisu, Todd’s take on a tiramisu
09/08 On Wednesday nights Todd waives the usual $15 (now $20) corkage charge so I brought along a bottle of cabernet sauvignon. On our arrival we were disappointed to learn our favorite server had departed for parts unknown, but Sunny, our new favorite server, proved to be both appropriately named and equally efficient. We started off with a basket of delicious homemade breads. We decided to share a watermelon salad that included pepitas, cayenne, lime juice and feta cheese - an amazing mixture of flavors. We each chose the fresh teriyaki halibut entree served over coconut rice and bok choy, but Todd has reworked the recipe to include fingerling potatoes plus baby carrots and sugar peas. This ended up making this fabulous dish even better. Near the conclusion of the meal Todd came over to our table and thanked us for our continuing patronage.
A seasonal menu filled with seafood specialties is served in an intimate strip mall setting. – In Short
Guests are greeted by a tightly-packed dining room of simple wooden tables and comfortable booths beneath decorative archways. An L-shaped, full-service bar with upholstered high-back chairs and a small television set take up one corner of the restaurant. Main courses are led by seared wild sockeye salmon seasoned with tart lemon shallot sauce with a tiny mound of delicate steamed rice, and fork-tender braised short ribs with creamy, jalapeno-dotted mashed potatoes.
Todd's Unique Dining – We recently celebrated our anniversary at Todd's and could not have been more pleased. The Kung Pao Shrimp appetizer was fabulous, and as for the Short Ribs...they are absolutely addictive. The service was great, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We'll be coming here often!
Perfect Dining Experience in Vegas!!! – On the first night of our vacation, my wife and I decided to go to an Off-Strip restaurant. Our friends (who just visited) recomended Todd's Unique Dining. We went there thinking it'd be a OK dining experience, but it wasn't it was Perfect. The service, the food, the Atmosphere, (Non-Smoking by the way) it was all just as we wanted. It was espiecally romantic.
We first started out with some Apps. I had the Asain Dumplings, they were perfectly cooked. They were so tender they melted right in your mouth. My wife had the Malaysian BBQ Shrimp, cucumber salad and Johnny cakes, they were just as spicy as our waitress told us it would be. Yumm...
With our appitizers out of the way we decided to have our Entrees. We has the Skirtsteak and the Short ribs. The Skirtsteak was very spicy and also very good. The Short ribs were so tender it fell apart in my mouth, the blend of it all was perfect. This is our best meal off AND on the strip... I highly recomend this restaurant if you want to have a romantic, fabulous, and PERFECT dining experience this is the place to go. It is the Best in Vegas and the best all over. It was even better when Chef Todd came out to greet our table. That was a nice suprise! To think that he cares so much about his restaurant he checks on the tables... This was very good... I will definitely be back...
A wonderful evening! – My wife and I ate at Todd's our first night in Vegas. We wanted something different and delicious and NOTHING could have been better. Our server, Marc, was perfectly attentive with dead-on recommendations. The place was hopping, but our appetizers and entrees came out promptly and beautifully presented. Most important, of course, was the taste! ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! We started with the Asian Dumplings and the Kung Pao Scallops - both were wonderfully unique.
We had the Skirt Steak and the Flat Iron Steak -- both extremely tender and cooked exactly as ordered. The Skirt Steak was very spicy, just like Marc told us -- exactly what I was looking for. The Flat Iron was delicious, too, with great fresh veggies and an excellent twice-baked potato. We couldn't finish either dinner, and we told ourselves "No Dessert".. NOT!
Marc dropped off the dessert menu, and the Creme Brulee called to my wife, and the bing cherry cobbler was beyond my limit of temptation. It seems that every course here just gets better than the ones before... The cobbler was perfect -- sweet, with full cherries, and great vanilla bean ice cream. The Creme Brulee was BY FAR the best we've ever had -- the carmelized sugar on the top perfection, bringing that perfectly toasted marshmallow taste to mind, and the custard underneath was so light and perfect.
This is by far the best meal we've had out in a LONG TIME -- Todd's is a MUST if you have the chance!
The prices are more than fair, the portions are great, and the quality can't be beat! The specialty drinks were excellent too -- we tried the Pom-a-tini (a pomegranite martini) and a white chocolate rasperry martini -- both delicious!
As a couple, each of us had a drink, appetizer, entree, and dessert, and the bill was just under $100 -- AN ABSOLUTE BARGAIN for what we got!
Call and make a reservation -- go have a great meal, and then you'll find yourself writing the next review!
Wonderful Experience! – Choosing to celebrate my wife's birthday off the strip while in Vegas, we pulled up to a non-descript building away from the bright lights and crowds. Upon arrival, I was worried, it was not what we expected it to look like from the outside. Inside, we found the place full, ok, that's a good sign! Sitting at the bar, the wine choices were wonderful. Our table was ready right at reservation time. The food was amazing. Goat cheese wontons with Raspberry sauce were perfect, salads were awash with flavor and the main course did not disaapoint. I had the lamb and my wife had the pork tenderloins and we both insisted the other experience the perfect blend of flavors presented with each plate. Definitely worth taking a break from the glitz and faux glamour of Las Vegas, and experience a great meal at an affordable price in a friendly atmosphere.
My new Vegas Favorite – Starts with great service, awesome appetizers, phenomenal "Todds unique" dinners, and great desserts. Amazing seared ahi for my wife, and believe it or not Skirt steak w/chili cheese fries for me. Had to laugh initially at this offering, waitress said it was out of this world and boy she was right. Probably in the top 5 meals i've ever had. Will be back to try more. Thanks Todd and staff!
