always happy with my color, i LOVE kara – I have been going to charmed salon for two years now, i love my stylist kara baker, ! love that i can tell her what i want and we are always on the same page. I have been to both suzi and val for waxing and facials and have never had a problem. the staff is always nice and good at accommodating my needs. if you are looking for a smaller, more comfortable salon rather then the big overpriced fancy salon then charmed is for you! if you are looking for snotty rude people who overcharge you and give you bad hair go somewhere else! charmed is awesome and the staff gets an A + this is the first salon i have been to where there is no awkward tension in the air and you feel totally welcome. Thank you charmed salon, kara and the rest of your awesome staff, keep up the good work!
Worst customer service ever!!!!!! – Wow...I can't believe how terrible this place is. I have never been treated so unprofessionally and rude in my whole life. I'm very easy going and nice but I will never return to Charmed salon. Valerie did lash extensions for me. I payed her in full and even referred other people to her. How did she repay me? Not with accomodating services but by being 20 minutes late for mine and my moms appointments, then acting like it was no big deal. Then she proceeded to tell my mom she would't do her lash touch up because they all fell out. My mom would have paid extra but Valerie made no attempts to fix the situation. My mom decided to give them a bad review. I was willing to stay out of it and continue to be her client. Then Valerie and the owner decided to involve me by cancelling my referrals appointment at the last minute. This is my cousin who is traveling from the bay to get her lashes done. My mom called to see if she could still keep my cousins appointment. The owner proceeds to tell my mom she's menopausal!!!!!! What kind of business chases away three clients??? Crazy women at Charmed..Never again!
Response to Bad Lashes – Hello Kelly,
I typicallly wouldn't take the time to rebuttal a review, however, I feel that I need to due to a misunderstanding on your part and the review is totally false and incorrect.
To set the record straight, I was not pissy with your first time appointment, you arrived 20 min late and still had to fill out consent forms and I was booked all day which would push my clients that were booked after you behind, it wouldn't be fair to make clients who are on time recieve their services late. I was a little stressed, but not pissy. I also am not a manager. I am an independent contractor. I value all of my clients and treat them with the utmost respect,
Now, about this last appointment...I was informed my appointment was at 10:15 not 10:45 I called immediately, spoke to your daughter and apologized. I arrived at 10:40 to be exact and when we walked in together, I apologized to you and you responded with "it's quite alright, take your time". When I came up to the front to bring you back, you asked for "more dramatic" at that moment I realized you had NO eyelashes on. You told me that they fell off 3 days after. Why wouldn't you call the salon or myself to inform me when that happened? If I bought an expensive pair of Jeans and a pocket fell off 3 days later, I would most certainly call the store. I have been doing lash extensions for 5 years and in that whole time I have NEVER seen any client who lost all of there lash extensions, but there is a first for everything. Your daughter barely lost any which is normal. 2 weeks went by and you made an appointment for a 45 min fill. A fill is just that...to "refill" and replensish what was lost. You needed a full set, and when you request a more "dramatic" look I would have needed 90 mins. I had other clients booked after you starting at noon. So even if we started at 10:15 it wouldn't have been enough time. I was just trying to be honest because in good conscience, I wasn't going to take you back and do a sub par service and take your money. You then became snippety, started texting and opened your laptop . I was trying to speak to you in a friendly manner and you were just ignoring me. I realized you were upset and I left you alone. You also failed to mention that I gave an additional 30 mins w/o charge for your daughter to make up for my tardiness.
Thirdly, I apologize if you think that the price was "top dollar" you actually paid $249.50 for 2 full sets. One for one hour and the other for 90 mins. Most place charge anywhere between 150-350 per full set.
I am very sorry you weren't happy with your service or the way you think you were treated.
BAD SERVICE and BAD EYELASHES BEWARE of this SALON – DO NOT BELIEVE THE GOOD REVIEWS FOR THIS SALON........PROBABLY WRITTEN BY EMPLOYEES
I first went to this salon two weeks ago for eyelashes for me and my daughter. The former owner was a little pissy because we were 10 minutes late. This did not set a great tone but I admit it was our fault that we were late. This place is EXPENSIVE. We paid top dollar ($300) to get the lashes applied and we were told that they last two weeks and fills are $40.00. A bit pricey but we figured we would give it a try. I followed their instructions exactly and all of my eyelashes were gone in less than two weeks. We made appointments to go back and arrived on time to the salon to find that it was closed. We called and left a message that we were at the salon at the appointed time but the door was locked. We waited 45 minutes and the former owner arrived (her sister the actual owner) called her and told her she had clients waiting outside. We finally got in..she did apologize, she thought the appointment was an hour later.I was nice about it and told her "no problem", however no effort was made to make it up to us...no discount...nothing. Then she informed me that my appointment was for a fill and if I had no lashes left, it would be more time and money. I told her to forget it. A wise business owner would have said, "well since I thought your appointment was later, we do have extra time, let me see what we can do". I would have paid her extra!!!!!! I am not a difficult customer, actually I think I am pretty nice...all you have to do is meet me half way at least. I hope the owner reads this because she needs to get rid of the sister as a manager there. Twice I have been in this salon (not a great location) and they have a very slow business right now...no other clients. You would think with this economy, they would want to give excellent customer service. If they had, I would probably be a regular client and they are making good money off of these eyelashes...not to mention the word of mouth. I will not recommend them and I am writing a bad review on every site I can find. They need new management that knows the value of good customer service.
Very disappointing – I need a new hairdresser after the one I have for 6 years moved to LA. I am leary but full of hope when I read Charmed's reviews. I called and asked for someone good at short hair. I was asked basic questions like the style of my hair, how short, etc. Then I was referred to Lou.
My hair looks good even after 5 weeks because in my opinion it's the technique a great hairdresser like mine does to my hair that really counts. So I had asked Lou to just clean it up same style same thing. I already can tell because of her techniques that my hair will not look as good as it was. I was very disappointed.
But the shock was the next morning when I washed it and blow dry it. I have a straight and corse thick hair. So I apply a smoothing balm to my wet hair. After blow drying it, my hair at the back were stanfding up. I sometimes use a paste sparingly to just give it a little texture, however that morning I used a lot of paste to keep my hair down! My hair was uneven on the sides because she did not touch it.
All in all, the $45 charge was worth one of those places you go for $10. I learned a lesson that day. It's better to get a referral from someone who has had a personal experience and who have gone there repeatedly because of a great service.
Best Brazillian! – I have gotten brazillian waxes at a few other places and always came out of the salon disappointed. At charmed, they do an amazing waxing job and they are cheaper than all the other terrible ones ive gotten from other places.
Lack of Customer Service – You would think in this current economy, businesses would step up their customer service to gain more customers/clients. Well not in this case. I simply got the 'I don't want to deal with it' and a final good bye. Well Charmed Salon, thank you for saving me the time. I will spend my hard earned cash elsewhere
Christina is the best hairdresser ever! – Christina is the best hairdresser I have ever had! She is soo friendly and and has an amazing artistic talent. Everytime she does my hair it looks amazing!! thank you stina!
Christina is an amazing hairdresser! – Christina is an amazing hairdresser, she does an amazing job and is extremely kind. She acts more like a friend and is very passionate about her work, which is why i trust her Thanks Christina.
Charmed Salon is super fantastic – I have been going to Valerie for a few months now and she is absolutely one of the best waxers ever. She is always efficient and clean. She is also super nice and friendly, which helps me to relax. I completely loved how she did my eyebrows, they came out so great. I've been to other places, but after going to Valerie and Charmed Salon, I wouldn't go anywhere else. The atmosphere is very mellow, which is fantastic. I would highly recommend this Salon and Valerie.
