I love the soups! – Everytime i have gone to Saha I have been impressed by the soups. One of my all time favorite soups was a jalapeno, fennel soup, it was so flavorful and creamy, but it was entirely vegan. I find the food to be consistently good, and that they use a very creative combination of ingredients. I eat mostly vegetarian food, and the menu offers a great selection, many dishes are even vegan. In some of my other dining experiences, I have found vegan food to be rather flavorless, but not at Saha. I am always surprised by how much flavor is packed into these dishes. I highly recommend going to Saha, and bring a good appetite with you.

Good but not great – After reading all of the great reviews here, I recently dined at Saha but, unfortunately, didn't have the same experience as many of the other reviewers. The food was good and the service was excellent but, compared to other SF restaurants with small plates and similar flavors - a relatively new on in the Mission comes to mind - Saha was just average, maybe a little above average. Everything was good but not outstanding - e.g. the hummus, the bastille (chicken/spices in phyllo). The kifta (meatballs) were even bland. Only one of our four dishes (the crispy couscous tower) was amazing. It may have been that we ordered the wrong items or come on an off-night (it wasn't a weekend) but, with so many incredible restaurants in SF, I can't recommend it.

AMAZING – Absolutely everything at this restaraunt was flawless. The sampler platter is the best of the best - a must do. Everything had amazing complex flavors. The atmosphere is romantic without being overbearing , however; it is great for groups as well. A fantastic find - I'll be back!!!

Home away from home... – Business brings me to San Francisco every other week. During my week long stay at the Hotel Carlton (which is a great hotel), I typically eat at Saha at least three nights out of the week that I stay there. I have nothing but great things to say about both the amazing array of cuisine but about the entire staff as well. The food is outstanding as you can see from all of the other reviews. My review will point out the staff's ability to make a dining experience comfortable and enjoyable while still maintaining a professional existence.

Saha was great! – I had to plan my friends birthday for 16 on a Thursday night at the very last minute. Where on earth was I going to get a reso of that size on a Thursday night? Thank god someone recommended Saha, they had space and even let us bring in our own balloons and dessert. Saha offers a three course dinner for 30 dollars that worked out fantastic as sometimes the checks for these birthday dinners can just get out of control. Our servers name was Heather and she was amazing, knew all about the menu and handled my drunken, high maintenance friends like a true professional. Even the rest of the staff was wonderful and make you feel at home in their restaurant. Three cheers for Saha!

Exceptional cuisine and ambience – There are many good restaurants in San Francisco, but there are only a few especially great ones that keep me coming back and Saha is one of them. The food is exceptional, distinctive and very flavorful. The ambiance is romantic and stylish, yet unpretentious. And the service is fabulous. Prior to frequenting Saha, I had no experience with middle-eastern flavors or dishes, and I relied on the staff to advice me on my selections. Now I always take what they recommend and its always a great experience.

I find my car steers itself to Saha – Over the past year, I have frequented Saha on numerous occasions. Throughout my many visits I have found two consistencies: the reliability of good service (the waitstaff are knowledgeable about the cuisine and the wine), and the ability for the fare to excite my taste buds time and time again. This consistency has prompted me to post a review and to share my experience with others. I sometimes find my car steering itself to Saha so that I can sample the raviolis, mint tiger prawns, the fatoush and the lamb tagine. The hostess is genuine and inviting, and she makes me feel at home each time I visit. Truly, something wonderfully different in a sea of ordinary restaurants!

Very Disappointed – Upon arrival we were told that our table wasn't ready, so we should go to the bar. We do, but the bartender doesn't greet us. He was busy with paperwork of some sort. After we sat there for 5 minutes, he decides to serve us. After getting our drinks at the bar, we wait another 5 minutes, only to have the hostess not show us to our table, but point to a table across the room and say "that's

your table." The bartender then becomes our waiter. When I began asking him questions regarding the menu, he either didn't know the answer or seemed annoyed at the question. We left absolutely no tip. The straw that broke the camel's back was this: Saha ran out of cous cous. Tell me, what kind of Arabic restaurant runs out of cous cous? That's like KFC running out of chicken, isn't it?

User review by k0re – 30 of us descended onto this restaurant for a birthday party last week. they were very accomodating, more so than other places, coming up with a special prix fixe menu which people could order from as well as pick anything else they wanted including surprise champagne and birthday cake for all. service was excellent, they were able to handle the chaos of a big group flawlessly.

and of course everyone enjoyed the food and couldnt stop talking about what they all ordered. the pumpkin, carrot, curry soup was fabulous, people loved the seafood kibbeh, salad with tomatoes in season, orange chicken, tagine of lamb and this amazing fish stuffed with crab.

the place has great ambience as well. people can forgo years of botox by making sure to make public appearances only under saha lighting.
