Mixed results. Our experience visiting JeanRo Bistro from out of town was mixed. We arrived with no reservations, and were offered only poor tables next to doors (in spite of the fact that there were many nice tables available -- and remained available through our entire visit). But our server was very nice. The starters (charcuterie plate and beet salad) were wonderful. But the liver we shared as an entree was awful -- you simply can't serve a 1-inch thick chunk of liver rare (especially when we asked for it medium-well), and the overly-vinegary sauce just left a bad tasted in our mouths (literally). Possibly with reservations and careful menu choices, this would be a fine place. However, we left slightly unsatisfied.

Overrated. I have had to be in Cincinnati for business twice in the past month and ended up at this place both times. Maybe it's because I'm a New Yorker and we have so many excellent French bistros here, but I didn't like anything I ate either time. I just don't get it. Service is also a little snooty, which really cracks me up. If you know what good bistro food is, don't bother with this place.

Fantastic little bistro - great for those wanting to experience Jean Ro but can't afford Pigalls!. My mother and aunt took me for my birthday to the bistro. Our service was superb and they had great specials on bottles of wine. The soft-shell crab appetizer was perfectly crisp and easy to chew. The escargot was better than I've had on cruises, where food is phenomenal. I cannot wait to go back - we were so impressed with how knowledgeable our server was; for a casual atmosphere, the experience is a close feel to fine dining.

Unique but delicious food combinations. I went with a party of 6 on sunday for Half price wine night...we had fantastic bottles of wine and the food was great!! The french onion soup is some of the best i've had, the lamb shanks were devoured by my friends, and the rest of us had either the tilapia special or another fish option. All of it was unique but delicious! The service was great and it's such a cute place! I look forward to going back.

Dissapointment. The family was looking forward to this special outing. The recommended Cream of Spinach soup was barely tepid and the warm goat cheese salad was practically inedible. However the French Onion soup and the braised Lamb Shanks were both fantastic. The ambience is wonderful and the server was patient with our large group. I would like to give the Bistro another chance.
