Pricey dumplings – They were good but; 6 for $6? I'm not sure if I can splurge here all the time. For cheaper and just as good dumplings, go to Chinatown. But I suppose the prices reflect the higher costs of rent here.

$10 for 5 dumplings and a soup? – This place was made to cater to the American palette, but if you want real dumplings, don't go here. The dumplings are okay, and it sounds inexpensive, but I didn't think so at all. I've never paid $10 for 5 dumplings in my life! In Chinatown and brooklyn, you can get 4 dumplings for $1, and they taste SO much better!

finally a student deal at the new one – first time i went in i paid like $10 for lunch and was like whoa. i just walked by the 8th street store and saw they had an nyu student deal for 7.50 and was psyched. good thing i am spending $100,000 on tuition and housing so i can get this combo meal. i got the szechuan chicken and a miso soup. the szechuan dumplings are actually spicy (i hate it when they say things are spicy and aren't) the one thing about it is that the container for the dipping sauce is a pain in the dumpling because i spilled it the first time and i spilled it yesterday trying to open it.

I love this place ,,,,,,Good food, nice staff, Great music........ – I eat here every thursday . Relatively inexpensive, great dumplings..I see alot of the same people here every thursday which is saying something for Manhattan fast food.No its not Chinatown and quite honestly I dont think thats what they're trying to be....Great space, clean, nice staff, and a simple menu that offers enough choices to keep me coming back for more ....TRY THE CHOCOLATE DUMPLINGS ........YUMMMMM

Pretty bad, really – People who think these are cheap and good don't have a frame of reference. They're neither cheap (compared to Chinatown), nor good (compared to Chinatown). I can't explain, but the taste is just off. They are less greasy and probably healthier than a classic dumpling, but I'd rather have just one dumpling from Chinatown instead of the 8 weird dumplings from Rickshaw. Considering you can get 10 steamed dumplings and a beef sandwich on sesame bread for $3.50 in Chinatown, I don't see a reason to every trust anyone else's dumplings. If you think Chinatown is run down, then you need to branch out.

The dumplings at this place is bad, i don't understand why all the positive comments. If you've ever had real dumplings, they are suppose to be juicy, with just the right wrap thickness. These dumplings taste like frozen dumplings from a bag. The wrap is so thick that you have a ways to bite into before hitting the filling. It's not how good dumplings suppose to taste. I'm embarrassed that people are eating this thinking this is what dumplings should taste like and even go as far as saying it's "gourmet dumpling"?? Please go to chinatown and get the real thing--cheaper and tastier.

I'VE HAD LUNCHABLES BETTER THAN THAT! – I'M A FOODIE AND I LOVE TO COOK AND EAT. I KEPT HEARING ABOUT RICKSHAW'S AND FINALLY DECIDED TO TRY IT. NO THANKS..I WISH I COULD HAVE REGURGITATED IT ALL AND GAVE IT BACK TO THEM FOR A REFUND. THE ONLY TIME RICKSHAW DUMPLINGS SHOULD BE EATEN IS..NEVER! THEY ALSO NEED TO STOP USING SO MUCH ONION TO FILL UP THE DUMPLINGS, AND STOP BEING CHEAP WITH THE REAL FILLING.

Decent Dumplings and New Options – I had heard from several sources that Rickshaw was awful - assessments made by individuals who have had authentic Chinese dumplings. Against their recommendations, I decided to give it a try since it was so close by. I ordered the pan fried pork and chinese leek dumplings w/ a salad (soy-sesame vinaigrette). The dumplings were decent, not the best I've ever had, but by no means awful. The greens were nice, but could've used more than just bean sprouts and some crunchy stuff. The soy-sesame vinaigrette was way too salty. I would go back again, but would be willing to try their salad only again if I was able to choose another salad dressing. I think I'll try the dumplings w/ noodle soup next time. FYI, you can order the dumplings and pair them w/ a salad or a noodle soup for an additional charge which I thought was a nice touch - almost like making it a combo of sorts in fastfood speak.
