What a dump! Service? There was no service! We went there last night before a show and what a mistake. Once you confirm that you have purchased a groupon you are immediately escorted out of the main restaurant and ushered into a makeshift conservatory/patio. This is where the groupon people are taken to like cattle. We waited 1 hour for a glass of wine and appetizers. Several people were also complaining about the lack of service. A few refused the food and left! The manager stated that they had an unexpected large group that came in and are a bit behind. Lies!! The problem is the kitchen! DO NOT waste your time! Keep walking as if this place does not exist. Patio room is a horror! Uncomfortable metal tables and chairs. A "Brazilian" restaurant blasting rock music via outside patio speakers. This dump needs to close! They should be ashamed of themselves. With thousands of fine restaurants in the greatest city and they have the nerve to offer this incompetent service??

Great time last night w/co-workers – Last nite Friday July 1, 2011 my co-workers and I had a wonderful time at this restaurant. Our waiter and staff were superb. The food was "great" and we said we'd come back again ! I'm glad we finally ate here after so many time passing by this place. We ate so much there was no room for dessert. Obrigada :)

God awful service, mediocre food – My husband & I chose this restaurant on a whim. We were walking around, looking for a nice little place to enjoy our 1st anniversary dinner. We were recruited by the host, who was standing outside trying to encourage people to come in and dine. Not uncommon, but since it looked charming & my husband loves Brazilian food, we decided to give it a whirl. We were seated on the patio, which is cute & great for people watching.

Our server came up almost immediately to ask if we wanted water, which we did. He brought it quickly and asked if we were ready to order. As we had been sitting only about 1-2 minutes, we'd had next to no time to review the menu. He said ok & walked away without asking for a drink order. He came back 2-3 minutes later and asked if we were ready again. We're trying to enjoy a night out--why was he rushing us? We felt as though he was trying to turn the table before we'd even eaten. We said we needed a couple minutes, & as he turned to go we had to stop him & let him know that we could place a drink order, which the bus boy brought 10 minutes later. Within a minute or 2 another person came to take our order. After 30 minutes of empty drinks, empty water, & zero server attention, a bus boy brought our entrees. My salad had totally been forgotten. I told him to just cancel it.

We started our food, only to find it completely mediocre. The palm heart ravioli were certainly nothing to write home about. My husband"s medium rare tuna steak turned out to be a very dry well done. Since he had only a sandwich while working at the con all day, he just ate it. At this point, we still have not seen our server since the 2nd time he approached to take our order around 40 minutes earlier. We'd had nothing to drink for quite a while. Oddly, the tables around us seemed well tended to. Finally, he barely approaches our table, literally with his side to us. "Everything is good?" And then starts to walk away. We stopped him and ordered another round. When that round hadn't appeared 10 minutes later, I went to the host and asked for a manager, explaining a little of what had transpired thus far. He was acting inconvenienced by having to wait on us.

Another server came over & tried to make excuses about them being busy, but if that's the case, why is your host out recruiting more business off the street? Not to mention that I doubt that's the first time the place had been busy on a Saturday night-I mean, come on! She bought us a round & took 10% off the bill. While we were speaking to her, the surly server finally, magically appeared with our drinks. Shortly after, the actual manager came up & we told her it was fine & we had spoken to someone already. Later a 3rd person, the guy who had taken our order, came up and apologized about the salad. Still, after all that, our waters were unfilled, my 2nd drink (Bailey's & coffee) was never topped off with more coffee, and we still only saw our server when we flagged him down for the bill.

I was so upset at having my anniversary dinner ruined that I teared up at the table. I especially have to question the kind of service we got when my husband, the guy who takes everything in stride & rarely notices a slight, says "I feel like we must have done something to offend him." The only thing we could think of was that we hadn't ordered right away, but why should that be a problem.

Hands down the worst service I have had in any restaurant ever. I've traveled all around the U.S. & Europe and I don't think I was ever treated so poorly as a customer.

GREAT MUSIC & FOOD! – Went there during the Carnival celebrations and they had a live DJ, even though it was a restaurant everyone was dancing, and having a great time. The staff was very attentive and great at recommending dishes and drinks. The food was more than enough and very tasty. Would definetly recommend!

Skip the Prix Fixe........ – Met friends for dinner this past Friday evening, decided to walk down restaurant row and saw Brazil Brazil's menu, looked good so we went in. First thing we notced was the lack of Air Conditioning, it was a warm night for November, letting the staff know by fanning myself with the menu didn't spark an idea for them to turn on some AC. Our waiter came, he was new and a very nice guy, great service from him thru the night. We all decided to try the prix fixe, food was not worth the $25, you can get some great prix fixe menu dinners from many restaurants on the block and on 9th avenue. The ala carte dinners did look good, not sure if we would go back to try them though.

Best Restaurant on Restaurant Row – We were going to a play last night and Broadway and were having trouble deciding where to do. We had heard good things ablut Brazil Brazil so we decided to give it a try. We are soooo glad that we did. The atmosphere is very nice and we were very pleasantly suprised to find that they had outdoor seating. The pre-fix menu was great & the Tilapia and homemade salsas were incredible. My boyfriend had the steak special and raved about it. We will defintiely be going back!

Good food and wine for its price – Had dinner last Friday with 3 friends and was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. It was raining and cold but the indoor garden was sheltered from the rain and was comfortably warm, but we decided to get a table indoor as we spotted a celebrity in the midst. The service was average (our waiter was young and inexperienced) but made it up in charm and attitude. Our food was very good - I had the tilapia and it was a nice size portion, buttery and full of flavor, my friend had the grilled salmon and she said it was delicious, my other girlfriend had the churrasco and it was deliciously moist and succulent. Didn't care much for the black bean soup, though as I found it to be too bland but my friend enjoyed it. For dessert we had the flan and it very good, just like mom used to make. As an added attraction, the dancer and live music was enjoyable and fun to watch. At the end our meal, the owner came over and asked how we like the place and when we mentioned that our waiter took a little long with the wine, he immediately gave us a bottle of wine on the house. All in all a very enjoyable evening and would recommend it highly for its price and quality.

Tourists beware!! – A group of co-workers and I ate at the restaurant last night and while the food was very good, we were extremely disappointed by the service that we received. In fact, we felt that our waiter was trying to take advantage of the fact that we were tourists and was trying to overcharge us. (According to the receipt, his name was Ivan)

We were lured into the restaurant by the man on the street and by the sign indicating $4 happy hour drinks between 5 and 9pm. We were seated at a table in the restaurant and when we asked which wines were available for $4 we were told that that price was only for bar service "but I can do it for you here". We ordered 6 glasses of wine and 1 margarita.

When we received the bill, the drinks that we had ordered were charged $5. When we questioned the waiter, he said that the wine was actually $8 but he "gave" it to us for $5. We told him that the sign outside said that the wine by the glass was also $4 and he said no it wasn't and we could go look. We did look, and it was in fact $4. He had also added a 20% gratuity to the bill because we were a group of 5 people. I told him that this was unusual, I have only heard of this for groups of 6 or more and he told me "not in Manhattan". I asked him if this was listed anywhere, in the menu or on the sign out front and he said that it was in the menu. He came back with the new transaction receipt which had been reduced by $7. I told him that this was not right, the price should have been reduced by $7 plus the applicable taxes and gratuities. He got all annoyed and went back to change it. When we got the billing right, I asked him again where it was listed that there was a 20% gratuity for groups of more than 4. At this point, he claimed that it was on the website (I checked, it's not). I was tired of arguing with him and I already had 3 charges and voids on my credit card so I signed for the amount and we left. I will not be going back.

Surprisingly Good! – I chose this restaurant based on previous reviews and to my surprise the reviews were right - THIS PLACE IS GOOD. I had friends in town for a Broadway play and I wanted something convenient for them as they were staying nearby and we wanted to have dinner right before the play. I arrived first and had a caipariniah (sp?) at the bar and the bartender was friendly and poured a great drink. Once my friends arrived we were escorted to our tables and the server was very polite and attentive. The appetizers we ordered came out quickly and were very tasty. Just as a note... we did not inform the maitre'd that we had theater tickets and would have to be served fairly quickly. The entrees followed and were also very tasty and we enjoyed them. 3/4 of the way through our meal a dancer dressed in carnival costume came out and interacted with the patrons of the restaurant. GREAT TOUCH!!! This made for a wonderfully fun dinner, as we did not expect the carnival dancer to come out. Nonetheless we were able to enjoy a great dinner, that was served efficiently, and we had a bit of entertainment. The bill was less than $200 for 3 people as we did the prix fixe dinner and added on our own appetizer and drinks. I also commend the restaurant as the night we went we experienced torrential rain and a distrubance at the building next door complete with police tape and inside the restaurant you could not tell. Great job!
