Just a cool place to kick back and have a beer – I live just a couple miles from the Nomad, and I've been coming there off-and-on for several years. One nice thing I've always liked about the place is the owners -- Big Larry and Little Larry -- always make you feel right at home, and the bar maids are always friendly. Beer's reasonably priced and always cold.

I usually ride my bike there, but it isn't a Harley -- it's an old BMW. First time I rode it up there I thought I might be given a hard time. Heh, no way. Instead, a few of the other bikers came out and checked out my old Beemer and we chatted some about it. These guys aren't poseurs -- they're real. They ride not because of the brand but because they like to ride. 'Nuff said.

See y'all there! I'm heading that way directly. :)

Um... Incredible? – So, upon first look I was a little scared to go into Nomad's. The Press talked it up as being "one of the most real biker bars inside the beltway" and went on about how rough it was and you shouldn't go there unless you're a biker... Idiots.

The crowd of people out front can be a little intimidating... and, I'm not gonna lie, I parked at the gas station across the street just in case. Note that there was MAYBE one motorcycle there. I got inside and sat at the bar and the bartender was a little unpleasant at first, but after jokingly asking if she was sad, she warmed right up to me... and now we're facebook friends. I got into a conversation with a relatively inebriated old man about Houston blues musicians from days past which earned me several free beers and some plays on the jukebox. The guy ended up being the famed Uncle Mel - and, I might add, all descriptions of him were valid.

The owner walked in and I asked about people driving motorcycles into the bar... apparently, he's the only one that does that - so no wonder no one was concerned (re: HoustonPress story) when he did. It ended up, despite its rugged appearance, being one of the most welcoming bars I've ever been to and upon my departure I had to shake hands with at least 10 people who all suggested I come back on Tuesday for something or other.

Don't be intimidated - get past the front doors and it'll be pure awesomeness.

(This is the BEST hidden local BAR in Houston) – I LOVE THIS BAR!

I recently went into this place and had the time of my life. I have been back several times because the place makes you feel right at home.

If you like a real and warm kind of atmosphere, this place is for you . There is no B.S. happening here just good ole' fun!

The people are real and down to earth and the owner Larry and barmaid Tiffany are absolutely AWESOME.

I would recommend this spot for anyone who wants to let some steam off after work or just have a few COLD BEERS....
