Best Entertainment, Best Dinner, Best View, Best Value, Creative Evening Outing, Theater Ticket Alternative – My husband and I got there early to take advantage of the view. What a fabulous idea this was! Our evening was already off to a romantic start- we sipped wine and enjoyed delicious appetizers as the sun was setting. Then the mayhem ensued! We enjoyed top notch entertainment! I highly recommend a Dinner Detective evening over any overpriced musical theater ticket! Plus the food was fantastic! I was thrilled with the grilled salmon (and I know my salmon) and my husband wouldn't stop raving about the chocolate mousse dessert. We can't wait to go back and this time we're bringing another couple with us! They don't know what they're in for! Really a fabulous, fun, romantic evening with an affordable price tag!
we are glad to hear everything went well and you had a nice evening.
Best Dinner Show, Funniest Murder Mystery I've seen in Los Angeles – Totally worth it. Had some friends who recommended it and we decided to go as a family to the show in Los Angeles. My sister and parents were talking about how funny it was the entire way home. Definitley not your standard fair dinner show. I'm going back for my birthday. Two thumbs up.
We are glad to hear you had a nice time with The Dinner Detective. Please let us know when you will be joining us again and we will make sure it is memorable for you and your family
Really, really, fun – My husband and I have been to alot of these and this one is by far the most fun. I went to a few in Los Angeles and in Orange County a few years ago and they weren't anything like this. Really funny and talented actors. Food was pretty good, but then again I did not expect gourmet. Not sure what the other reviews are talking about but these guys are definitely worth coming back to.
We appreciate the positive feedback and thank you and your group for joining us. We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy any of our competitors, but the Dinner Detective family is glad to hear you enjoyed your evening with us.
Just another poor copy. – I love a good murder mystery and have been to them all. This one I was invited to as a guest and must say it was a major disappointment. Nothing new, just a cheap imitation of something that has been going on in LA for years but not nearly as good. Take your wallet for all the add-on extras-- including tipping the actors (when that happens it tells you something about the caliber of talent). Food was okay but nothing to rave about.
We take a lot of pride in our production and have received rave reviews over the years. In all honesty, if the show was terrible week in and week out we wouldn't be in business and all of the newspaper and television reviews would be negative. We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy yourself in this particular instance. Please give our box office a call at your convenience so we can try to make your next experience with the Dinner Detective a positive one.
An experience... – I was really excited about The Dinner Detective and was happy when I found free parking on the street, but the "show" wasn't really worth much. The food was decent, but nothing to really write home about. I tried all three appetizers that the waitstaff was walking around with, and the best of the three was the mushroom quesadilla. The salad didn't seem to have very fresh ingredients. My dinner selection was the beef tenderloin, which was the highlight of my meal; the mushroom sauce was excellent. For dessert I had the bread pudding, which was okay. I wished that the "show" was more interactive. Maybe if I had shelled out more money for a package, I would have had more fun. They also didn't give us enough time to review our clues, which my sister was very disappointed about. I was told that there is a Dinner Detective in Long Beach which is on a boat, which I would definitely want to try. I just feel the L.A. Dinner Detective wasn't "exciting" enough for me. Definitely not what I expected.
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors – Interactive murder-mystery dinner theater with choices of four-course meals and after-show entertainment. Prizes for discerning sleuths.
Unique Enjoyable Interactive Evening – I really enjoyed attending this. If you paid attention to the clues, it can be easily solved. It's pretty easy to figure out whose part of the show too. But if you let loose and just enjoy the show, it's fun. The food was surprisingly good. Moist, flavorable and filling. The mystery was entertaining and pretty funny. Lots of parking on street, so you don't really need to valet.
We are happy to hear you had such a nice time. We would love to have you join us again at one of our other locations. The Dinner Detective takes pride in all of their award winning shows and is just dying to see you again.
My date and I had a blast – We weren't expecting it to be as funny and entertaining as it was. The food was good and the show was great. I definitely recommend it for people with large parties and even guys looking for something to do with their girl
Try it once – Brought my 80 year old mother and a couple of friends. The hors d'oerves were presented outside and it was a little chilly in December, but they had heat lamps. Inside, the food service was good. The actors were funny and enthusiastic, but the clues to the murder mystery and the rather byzantine way the clues were woven together at the end left me scratching my head.
Best birthday ever!!!! – Where to begin....my husband planned a surprise party for me at the venue. I had never done one of these before and once I realized what we were doing I was totally excited. It was something I had always wante to do (it was on my lifelist...thanks Ellen). The actors were great, the interaction with the audience was hilarious and the food was fantastic. This was such a memorable evening for me and I would highly recommend it to everyone I know and don't know.
