Awful service – I finally hit the last straw yesterday and had Dish Network installed. I have had equipment problems and they said they would get back with me (the tech) and did not. A week ago I was at my mother's helping install the digital box Comcast sent by mail. It would not activate. The boxes they send to my home would not activate. I tried to get an appointment for a Tech and was on hold for 20 min. I hung up and recalled. The second time I was on hold 30 min. That is when I thougt it best to cancel my service. So when I called the Comcast at 4700 Little Blue Pkwy, Independence, Mo - I spoke with Chris. I said I was canceling and wanting to return the equipment. I asked if I return the equipment to this address - and he said yes. I said I had not given the address yet - and he said 4700 Blah Blah Blah. Exact words. I was reconfirmed why I was canceling. Horrible Customer Service. I love my new satellite TV service. The cost is less and the picture is better. Time will tell with the customer service.
Security Needed – So I just got back from returning my Comcast modem. As slow as it is I finally got irritated with them that I went with DSL. Slower but cheaper and although the service is not great it is a huge leap beyond Comcast. But here is my point. I was the first one in line to return my equipment with one guy behind me, of course suppose to open at 8:30 so they opened at 8:35 while the two of us stood outside in the freezing cold. While in line a security guard walked in and asked the do nothing manager behind the desk if they had ordered a Security guard. She said yes so he asked what he needed to do. She replied just stand in the corner and keep the customers off of us. To which the guy behind me says, "Comcast needs security?". Do nothing responds with, "yes we do the people that come here are out of control." He and I had a loud conversation about the why they needed security which of course did nothing. But this tells you two things. One the people of Olathe hate Comcast so bad that they actually get violent. Two Comcast could care less about serving their customers they just need to keep the customers off them. Well let me be the first to say your best bet is to help them accomplish that goal. Never go with Comcast.
cable for the 7th circle of hell – For $140+ for the basics (cable and internet) you would think that the sound wouldn't fade in and out. And for the price i should get phone service but if the cable and internet is this bad....i don't even want know what the phone is like. When we first called to get service it took 2 weeks to get everything right. At first the internet wouldn't work. Then the cable box broke!!??? how does that happen? They still charge me monthly for the cable modem they sent out that i had sent back. They argue with you if you have a problem. CALLING DOES NOTHING!! Internet speeds are not what they advertise. I am constantly having to unplug the modem and wait 10 seconds and plug it back in. BAD product topped off with HORRIBLE service. Please please bring another cable company to olathe.
Never – Wouldn't even give them a star, but this system requires at least one. After more than 15 years with this provider the first time we had a problem we received deplorable service (they don't keep appointments). They have rude service staff, and they can't correct their mistakes, nor do they deliver what they say they will, when they say they will. They are over priced, and at every level of management (including all the way to the top) they are very unresponsive. What a dud!
Never in my LIFE! – Everything the other user said is spot on! I have never been stuck with ONE service provider that wants $140/mo for tv and internet (that's BASIC tv and internet). The service is horrible. The tv cuts out all the time. I have been on hold now more than ONE HOUR trying to report it. When I do report it, I'm told someone is already working on it and it just goes away in a couple DAYS. The internet is not fast. I have top end equipment that is wasted on their slow services and poor signals. I went with a cable company only because I didn't want those outages during rain and snow with satellite. I have MORE signal problems and outages than I did with Dish Network. As soon as my special price is up in a month I am going back to satellite. You just can't get anything really good here in Olathe.
worst of the worse – Comcast is my 4th cable company and by far the worse service I have ever seen. The service people are incompetent and do not want to show and tell with the controller or much else. Questions are basically ignored. Comcast has one of the worse program line ups that I have had to date. When you call for service or need help with something the people who answer the phones seem like they don't have any idea what is going on. Then you get these phone calls that tell you that you are such a great customer that Comcast is increaseing the speed of your cable and it slows down. Takes forever to down load or send something. NOw there is constant flickering and interuptions of the programing and it doesn't matter what the program is. The comcast controller is the worse that I have ever seen, hestates times out and half way works most of the time.
My recommendation to anyone is watch the local stations you get the same bad programing but doesn't cost you a thing. The Comcast group is the highest most expenseive cable I have ever had.
I would suggest to anyone 'do not move to Independence or Olathe' unless forced to. Every place else has at least 2 cable companies and are competitively priced.
Lousy cable worse I've seen.
