Stay away – We ordered specials; the pasta sauce tasted slightly burnt, and the fish dish had a strong odor and fishy taste. Service was good, but the food was horrible.

Authenic Tuscan Cuisine – Had dinner last night at Fioretto. We'd actually been there the previous week and I had homemade tagliatelli with beef ragout. It was fabulous but David the chef/owner also had risotto with braised lamb and dry aged ricotta on the menu. Since he changes his menu seasonally I knew I only had a few weeks before the spring menu started. So back we went. Each time we had the Mela salad as a starter. Another incredibly delicious item that will be coming off the menu when he changes to his spring fare.

I am a hugh fan of risotto and lamb and make them both often at home. So I am hyper critical when eating these dishes out. The dish was beyond excellent and beyond outstanding. This is one of the truly talented chefs in this town and you would do yourself a favor to experience his cooking. He is also open for lunch and has great specials very reasonably priced. It is a small casual trattoria located in a strip mall between Marina del Rey and Culver City. Highly recommended.

Delicious, authentic Italian food?one of L.A.'s best-kept secrets – This tiny gem is tucked away in a bland stripmall in an industrial area, but don't be fooled by the exterior. The food is just so fantastic and delightful. I'd never tried pici before, but it's now my favorite pasta. The meat sauces are rich and tasty but not overpowering or too saucy. Salads are superfresh and calamari is light, crispy and yum. I'm not crazy about the traditional Tuscan-style bread, which is heavy and lacking flavor, but that's the only negative thing I can say about the food. The staff is very attentive and friendly, and great for asking for suggestions. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed!!

Best Meal In Los Angeles To Date – I had been searching for a restaurant in Los Angeles that served pici since staying in Tuscany last year. I don't claim to know Italian food because of this trip, I just know I loved pici and couldn't find it anywhere. When I found out Fioretto offered pici I had to try it. I was a bit nervous as heading to a new restaurant to try a food you remember as an absolute favorite leaves an awful lot of room for disappointment. I'm happy to report that this place exceeded my expectations. Here are a few notes on the basics:

Bread: I've read some reviews that focus on this. The bread here is as authentic Tuscan as you will ever find. That said, I'm not a huge fan of Tuscan bread as its not big on flavor. It is more of a carrier than an element to enjoy on it's own. Ours was fresh out of the oven and came with a nice olive oil.

Appetizers:

Baccellli (fava beans, pecorino, walnuts, olive oil): This dish was superb. Really fresh and every ingredient was exceptional. Perfect balance.

Frittura (fried clamari/shrimp): I wasn't all that excited to order this, but it kind of wowed me. Perfect texture and flavor on the calamari and the shrimp were exceptional. Nice light red pepper sauce worked very well.

Mains:

Pici: we ordered the sausage/mushroom ragut version. Fantastic: If you haven't had pici it's worth a try. It's a think hand-rolled pasta made with only flour and water (no egg). The version served at Fioretto is authentic and prepared perfectly.

Lasagna: I was nearly floored by this dish. I'm not normally impressed by restaurant lasagna. Until now, Osteria Angelini was the only exception to this. Fioretto's version now tops my list. It's a vegetarian version with an emphasis on baby artichokes. The texture and flavor combinations were among the best I've ever had.

Service: I've read some conflicting reports on this, but ours was excpetional. An older gentleman was working the room during our meal. He was great. I've never felt so at home at a restaurant in LA.

Delicious meal, friendly service, perfect portion at a great price – I had such a great dining experience here this past weekend. Cozy restaurant with wood tables, friendly and attentive staff. The food was so scrumptious - I had the zucca salad (butternut squash, arrugula, goat cheese) and the tagliatelle pasta. It's in a little strip mall, which might worry or scare away some, but I have spent the last two days telling everyone about this place. You won't be disappointed!

Best Tuscan Dining -- not just in LA but in the States! – I discovered this place last month and have been back many times since.

With some of the best and most authentic Italian food I have found in the States, this is truly a gem of a restaurant tucked away in Culver City. If you are missing the Tuscan dining experience, Fioretto's is the place to go. And don't let the strip mall setting deter you -- be prepared for amazing flavors at reasonable prices in a cozy and peaceful environment. The restaurant is family owned and operated and you will feel like part of the family while you dine.

Everything including the mozzarella cheese and pasta is made from scratch. I highly recommend the Beef Carpaccio, Rigatoni tossed with eggplant, basil & mozzarella, and anything from the seasonal menu. Also, be carefull not to fill up on the delicious bread with rosemary & olive oil... save room for the Tortino (flourless chocolate cake with orange sauce -- so decadent).

I hope you enjoy this restaurant as much as I have!

Unique and Authentic Tuscan Cuisine – We have been eating here for a year and a half. It is some of the most innovative and disticttive Italian food in town. The menu changes seasonally so there is always something new, and weekly specials as well. The ragu (bolognaise sauce) is outstanding, and his fish dishes are all prepared with care. The pastas are always perfectly cooked and the lasagna is one of my wife's favorites. The pizzas are a bit non traditional, having very thin, crispy crust and slices of cheese dotting the top, so don't look for Domino's style here. Look for the salad of baby artichokes and parmesan, spigola (fish) baked in salt crust, rigatoni al ragu, gnocci in tomato sauce, tagliata (sliced steak), and any of the seafood or fish dishes. Don't get attached to any particular dish, because it may go away after three months, or it may stay another season. It is hidden in an unassuming strip mall in Culver City, but well worth the effort to find. The wine llist is modest, but you are welcome to bring your own, the corkage fee is minimal. He does have a good barbera by the glass and they will recommend something to go with your meal. The owner, Chef David is a charming man, and if it is not too busy will visit you at your table and regale you with storys of his native Tuscany. His laugh is infectious and it is always a pleasure to see him. The prices are modest compared to the quality of the food. If Fioretto was on Main Street in Santa Monica, you could expect to pay double. The ambiance is somewhat spartan, however, but for some of the best and different Italian food in town, Fioretto can't be beat.

Simply Terrible – Wow...although some of the food passed for average, a couple of the items, including a tortellini dish, were inedible. Service was lacking, too. You can find a better place to go for the money.
