Good, casual bar...but nothing special – Not too bad of a bar, but not that great either. Could use more girls, and less guys.
Worst place ever – Great place to hang out with washed up trash. And that's just the waitresses. Talk to server Ashleah. Wait, she'll prolly just ignore you and charge you for stuff you never ordered.
But seriously. Don't go here. I've been going there for 5 years. In the past couple of weeks, i have been cheated, humiliated, and over charged multiple times.
If thats how they want to run a business, that's fine with me. They just won't get mine. But find out for yourself. Some tips: You may have to yell really loud to get any one's attention. Bring extra money, because you will get over charged. Don't worry about your 19 yr old girlfriend, because she can get in if she shows her cleavage to the bouncers.
Goodluck. I would rather hang out with a homeless dude, any one of the 4 that hang out there.
Unexpected Fail – This place was almost great on St. Patty's day, until the Reverse-Racist-Anti-Whitey-Im-a-Blacky bouncer came up and kicked my friend out. My friend was casually talking to friends from his school when a big old Blacky came up to him with a lovely bouncer shirt on and told him to step off the line. Funny thing was, he wasn't on the line. He appologized to the blackidy bouncer and stepped towards the bar and away from the line, so as not to make blackythebouncer mad, but blackville wasn't having it. In his anti-white raid, he ended up kicking my friend out (he was leaving anyway) and enjoyed his old little power trip...good for him. I guess that's what that n1g has to do to be okay with the fact that he never even made it through cc to get his Associates. It's n1gz like him, that makes me (an african american male) happy that I went to college and got a real job.
Po' ol' n!g. Pickin my cotton. F him in the A, and C on his chin.
If you like black bouncers that are raci$t against white folk, go here! They'll throw you out just for showing up and footing the bill!!!!!
Tons of Fun! – If you have ever spent a Spring Break in Mexico, Cabo is good at recreating the atmosphere and two-for-one happy hour can't be beat! Its usually pretty busy so get there early if you want a seat. The food is pretty good for a bar. The 3rd St. location has outside seating, great for people watching and the Marina Del Ray Cabo is less than a block from the beach.
Nothing to recommend – This is for the 3rd St. location in particular, but also applies to the one on Wilshire and on Washington.
If you like your bars to be dirty, if you like to smell like the kitchen because of poor ventilation, if you despise being waited on, and you would prefer to be overcharged for your food and drinks, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, there's no reason to waste your time at any of these locations.
Love Cabo 3rd Street – I go to Cabo 3rd street all the time. Happy hour is cheap. Food isnt really great-but its a BAR! Typical drunken crowd, cute waitresses (although I havent seen my favorite waitress in some time)...friendly bartenders...
OVER RATED – cheezy, drunk crowd, over priced "2 for 1" happy hour, smokey, small seating areas, not enough restrooms, rude or stupid wait staff (didn't care to find out), marginal food.
Cool Laker game spot – Caught game 4 of the NBA Finals here. The waitresses were all polite and very fast in bringing us our drinks. From my research, this was the only spot that didn't attempt to overcharge patrons in L.A. during the Finals. Regardless of the high-profile L.A. sporting event being played --much to my surprise -- drinks were still 2-1. That alone warrants a 5-star rating.
Most patrons were the typical quasi-superficial L.A. crowd, but there were plenty of my UCLA brothers and sisters in attendance. The Bruin basketball team watched the game a few feet in front of us. It was pretty entertaining seeing their reactions every time I cursed at Jordan Farmar for his horrible play that day. :^)
All-in-all, my friends and I had a great time and would not hesitate to catch a game here again.
Waitress forgot Happy Hour – A bunch of us went there for happy hour. The waitress has forgotten that it was happy hour and brought everybody only one drink (while happy hour you will get two drinks for the price of one). When we reminded her politely she apologized and brought us the other drinks. The bar was pretty crappy though, with dirty tables, chaos and jam packed. A Santa Monica hangout to booze and hook up somebody.
College Vibes – Great spot for day drinking and bringing back the nostalgic feel of a college party! The happy hour has some good deals and the special events that occur ocasionally here are usually pretty crowded. The best part about this place was the crowd and the service (one in the same). Everyone was friendly and very talkative. The only down side was the strong stench of vommit when walking towards the bathroom. The place is kinda small so it get's rather crowded. You might wana get their somewhat earlier than the crowds just to snag a table or spot to hang at with your crew. The outside patio is literally right on the street of Wilshire Ave and is a great spot to people watch! All in all a fun place to meet people and have a few good priced drinks while you're at it!
