Kind of Disappointing. First bad food experience in Seattle...People and place were nice. The music and atmosphere were cool but NOT for the new year. Cocktails were also disappointing...tried at least 6 different ones to drown out the disappoint felt that we chose this place for new year. Who knows maybe this place is fun on non-holiday occassions to have drinks and hang out but would not recommend for a new year bash...
Even though our server was nice the food was terrible and gross. Overall, our experience here was very bad. Being new to the Seattle, we decided to go to the Apartment for New Year's Eve after being suckered by their false advertisement. The food was not good the atmosphere was wannabe New York (which falls beyond short) and everything was overpriced. After being told that they were highly "booked" and we had to arrive early b/c they were so busy, we got there only to see that there were 6 other patrons in this lame, EMPTY, wannnabe bistro. $200 later, we were being rushed out of our booth for their "busy" schedule, when in fact it was still pretty empty, lame, and not fun. Terrible, terrible New Year's location. Overpriced, bad food, and the atmosphere is simply not fun. There was supposedly to be dancing later but the place is small and I am not sure how they managed the "dancing" as we left given the experience we had. Would recommend doing something better with your time and money - go somewhere where you can leave feeling like it was worth the cost.
Great Happy Hour - Cozy and Cute!. The Apartment Bistro has a fantastic happy hour - they offer really creative cocktails and have more variety than most places downtown - the atmosphere is really cozy and fun!
A trendy, with-it crowd flocks to this mod Belltown bistro for fresh cocktails, sassy food and a Monday movie night..
In Short
This jazzy, hip bistro makes the most of its narrow space with minimalist decor, sleek black booths and a patio that extends onto the sidewalk. Each table sports a fish tank, jangly jazz plays in the background and a flat-screen TV shows a constant loop of muted classics. The menu is varied, experimental and heavy on the fish--items include calamari fried with house-infused cucumber vodka, molasses-roasted king salmon and miso-marinated black cod.
Awesome EVERYTHING, but try the salmon.. I went there with my husband, and two friends. They were friends with the chef. The atmosphere was awesome, the wine phenominal and the service fantastic. I ordered the salmon, one friend ordered the chicken & my husband & the other friend ordered the steak. Let me tell you, the salmon was so tender, juicy and perfectly prepared that EVERYONE was eating my salmon. It was the communal salmon. I highly recommend it. Go early, stay late.
A Great Night Out. After eating here I have to say the food was amazing and the service was equally so. We went on a weekend so it got a bit noisy around 10 due to its small size, but still it had a great ambiance. My date had the flatiron steak which was perfectly cooked, and I had the Halibut special which was just as good if not better than Flying Fish next door. Try the infused martinis, they had one the night we were there that our server said was directly from the Pike Place Market. Drinks are priced at average Belltown prices. Definitely worth the trip.
Could be a great place..... We had a perfectly wonderful evening here... delightful server, perfect cocktails and meal... until they started setting a table for another party that included our booth. One would think that a $200 bill would afford us the luxury of enjoying our booth from 5:30 until 7:30. Aparently not. The manager and bar tender started setting up for the next party before we were done with our meal, including clearing plates that we were not done with. In spite of our dirtly looks and comments, they continued. Until the manager and his staff learn better manners, we will not be back. We were absolutely disgusted with their behavior.
The Food Will Surprise You!.
This is a great little, new hotspot in Belltown, right next door to Bada Lounge. It is a good place for drinks and people watching, though it is teeny. The food is not an afterthought as it is at most Belltown watering holes. A recent Alaskan King Salmon dinner was HUGE and cooked to perfection, moist and flavorful, with Heirloom tomatoes. About half the price as a place like Waterfront Seafood Grill and about twice the portion size. Other dishes that were notable was the chicken with crispy skin and pan seared scallops.
A great addition to the Belltown dining scene.
Great Birthday!. I had been to Apartment Bistro before for their fun drinks but decided to celebrate my 29th birthday there as well. The food was wonderful as was the service. The halibut was amazing and so much better than many area seafood restaurants in the area. I told the manager I was expecting a large group later for drinks, and despite the tights spaces, he did everything to accomodate us all. I can't wait to go back there again!
Yes, Flipper is parked in a bowl on your table.... Yes, there are fish on the tables, but they seem to be enjoying themselves, as do, the lounges patrons. I've visited this hot spot several times, dined and, on occasion, sipped a well-made martini or two. The staff has always been friendly and I can say the same about other customers. Seating is limited and the bar tends to get crowded on the weekends, but the food is delicious and the cocktails inventive. Its nice to find a place where you dont have to spend a wad to get good service, tasty food, and a stiff drink.
