If you like ordering your pizza to never receive it, Basil Doc's is the pizza chain for you! If you want to actually get what you purchase, then perhaps another restaurant will be more to your liking.

And the manager really has a terrible attitude and is unwilling to help you.

FAST SERVICE, GREAT PRICES, FRIENDLY STAFF – Basil Doc's never disappoints. This carry-out location (on Holly Street) is consistently outstanding. Reasonably priced and great service. We don't eat pizza all that often, but when we do - this is our first choice. The crust is just incredible. Clearly one of Denver's finest!

The staff is also consistently friendly.

Plain BAD pizza and the employees don't seem to know what they are doing. – I am an ex New Yorker. This pizza doesn't touch New York style pizza. I really don't get the rave reviews they show on the pizza box. I've lived in Denver 9 years and never had tried Basil docs. We decided to give it a try and it was the worse pizza, BAR NONE I've ever had in Denver. Sauce is flavorless. Crust is starchy or too sweet. It came soggy, and out of 2 pies we ordered, they got the large one totally wrong. Because it was a gross combo we didn't want, we had to drive all the way back there TWENTY FIVE MINUTES later, to get a fixed one. Guess what? Upon checking the order while still there when getting the replacement pie, we disovered they had screwed that one up, too! They fixed it as we stood and waited, but still. The staff gave us the pie for free but we would have RATHER had a good pizza without the extra driving time to pick up the replacement pie after driving to get the first pie. The staff doesn't seem to know what they are doing, nor do they know what it takes to make a good pie WHATSOEVER. The shrimp on our pie made us laugh; those tiny little gross shrimp that barely count as 'real' shrimp; a total disappointment. I would never give this place a second try. NOT GOOD.

Some of the best pizza to date I've tried is on Leetsdale and Holly, I LOVE NY PIZZA. Another place that has good pizza is FAMOUS pizza or this pizza place on Leetsdale near Holly, between the Goodwill and El Coyotito (Which is great Authentic Mexican btw)..can't remember their name. Even Papa John's kicks Basil Docs to the curb.

Best Pizza in the World – This is the very best. They advertise a secret ingredient, and what ever it is might cure all the world's ills. Every bite is extraordinary.

Take out-only pizza chain tosses crunchy-crusted pizzas with a variety of tasty toppings. – The Scene
Basil Doc's sets magazines out for those who wait -- and Milk Bones for four-legged accompaniers.

The Food

Expect a miracle of a crust--as crisp as a cracker, with teeth-pulling dough--hand-made red sauce loaded with fresh basil; and judicious amounts of cheese and toppings, all sprinkled with more basil, garlic and grated pecorino Romano cheese. The crust is really a marvel. Although all pizzas from Basil Doc's need to be transported somewhere else, the crust retains its crunch and crisp for many minutes after the pie exits the oven. Even after time in a cardboard box. Specialty pies include Athenian (with feta and kalamata olives) and Tuscan (with sun-dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts). These aren't slopped-together, haphazardly laid-out pizzas. When they're finished, they are a picture: rust-brown sauce, like lava flowed to the sphere's edge and curled around black-topped dough bubbles, under its quilt of toppings.
