BIG RIPOFF – I called yesterday and spoke to a women on the phone, I specifically told her that I had a Noritz water heater that needed tp be flushed out with vinegar (reg maintenance, required once a year) She quoted me for $105 for the vinegar flush. She was extremely eager to make the appt for the next day, which was fine with me. However the technician guy comes out and says I need about $800 worth of work done to the tankless heater which only cost $1000 and is about 5 yrs old. I have no problems with the heater currently, but they were now insisting that it was installed incorrectly and needs a valve kit to be installed along with a bunch of other crap that I'm sure is lies. I said No I don't want the work to be done, then they said they couldn't flush out the system because I don't have the valves for it but they were still going to charge me $105 for the service fee of the man to come out. Long story short I argued with them on the phone and said I wouldn't pay anything esp if he didn't do anything and I would take it up with the BBB if I had to. At this time the technician left after we said we wouldn't pay anything, some manager I spoke to tried to tell me I was responsible for the $105 and put me on hold, I hung up[ on him. A couple minutes later the technician came back and said he was authorized to do the vinegar flush for $105 although we didn't have the valves. He did it with the supervision of my husband ( I wouldn't trust him in case...) These people are a total rip off, for every call they get, they try to sell/repair/replace the heater although its is not needed!! And if you don't do the work they recommend they still want to charge you $105 for coming out for nothing, that's how they make their money. They don't tell you that on the phone

Only Company able to fix Problem!

Well first of all a couple of weeks ago we had this pipe leaking on the side of my home! I wasnt sure where it was coming from so I called a Plumber the first Plumber told me it was related to the water heater and it needed to be replaced for about $1587.00 I told them i had two more guys coming out and the next guy came out and told me the water heater was bad and had to be changed but he was more expensive than the other plumber he wanted way to much $1865.00 HE SAID THEY USED A BETTER A WATER HEATER! SURE!

When the Plumber from Payless showed up, he asked what were the symptoms of the problem, He got out some tools ran a quick test or two. He told me I know exactly what was happening here your T& P Valve is Popping off. which ricky explained to me was the temperature and pressure relief valve that releases when the pressure or temperature gets to high it releases. He helped me understand the Problem which was nice.

So the fix to the problem he told me I need to replace the T & P Valve and the pressure regulator that sits in front of my home! Which is the root of the whole problem. NOT THE WHOLE WATER HEATER! he told me the job would be $385 to replace my regulator and T & P Valve. I was so relieved from what he told me I thought I was gonna spend well over a $1500. for a new water heater today but instead got it done for less than $400 Thank You Guys I appreciate the honesty and my family does also in these times!

Wow Tankless Installed in One day! Great Job – I had a Tankless Water Heater installed in our home Today! I called Payless this morning, shortly after a gentlemen showed up at 10am ready to get my problem solved with a new water Heater but instead I opted for the new tankless. Which to my surprise could be done the same day. I gave them the go ahead they started work right away. It took some time because they had to run a new larger gas line and a new vent as well. By 5pm that day we had hot water from our new Tankless Water Heater. We love our new Tankless Water Heater and im getting 30% tax credit & $150 Gas company rebate for installing one of these tankless water heaters. Never ending showers and i have two teenagers this is the perfect solution. Very Clean work and it lokks great. Thank You Pam A

Avoid Payless Water Heaters – I chose and paid extra for the top-of-the-line heater with the twelve year warranty. The quote said the water heater would be $549 but with installation and all the extra stuff we "needed," our total was $956. If I wanted the the top-of-the-line heater with the twelve year warranty, that was another $100, bringing the total to $1056.

The day of the installation after the guy took out my old water heater and installed the new one, I was told that I needed to replace our existing water pressure regulator. I balked at this, especially because of his timing. He waited until after installing the water heater instead of telling me before he began. It seemed to be a ploy to extort more money from me. I tried to avoid paying for this extra. Then he wrote a note on my receipt saying that if I did not replace the regulator the warranty would be void. Under duress, I agreed and paid the total of $1326.

Since I am not sure that I needed the water pressure regulator I was forced to buy for an additional $270 on the initial installation date, I do not trust Payless water heaters. I also think they did a little price gouging since it took about 10 minutes of labor to install the regulator, and a friend told me he bought one at the hardware store for $50.

Two years later, I noticed there was no hot water. I went into the utility room and smelled gas. I called a plumber, and he came right over. He inspected the heater and determined that the heater could not be repaired and needed to be replaced. He shut off the heater and the gas and water going to it. Because of the previous experience with Payless Water Heaters, I did not want to have them handle the replacement. The plumber took the heater in to exchange it. The staff at the place where he exchanged the unit made a photocopy of my receipt because they thought it was interesting. Bradford White, the manufacturer of the water heater, does not offer a water heater with a 12 year warranty. The heater that had been installed in our home was a water heater that comes with a 6 year warranty. I guess we were lucky it only took two years for the heater to fail, so it was still under warranty. Not really. We got a "free" replacement heater from the manufacturer, but we had to pay for professional installation.

If you are looking to replace your water heater, I suggest you avoid Payless Water Heaters.

Let me be clear about whom I am speaking. The company has contractor number 836216 is owned by Scott Oksas and the salesman who set me up was Bryan Oksas.

They are located in Valencia, but they have several addresses set up in the area. Check the contractor number and you will find they are all the same
