The secret is out.... Best Jeweler in town! – About six years ago, I saw the most beautiful diamond ring on one of my customers. She told me that Travis Kukovich designed it.... Over the year, I kept an eye out for designer/artsy looking engagment rings because I knew I would be getting one. All the ones I really liked were designed by Travis.
Long story short, Travis created a simple, yet unique full bezel ring for me. He also designed my wedding band!! I have had him create other pieces (necklaces, earrings, etc.) over the years, and I am always pleased (THRILLED) with the end product. Most recently, my grandmother died, and I received a stone that I immediately took to William Travis Jewlery to reset. He turned an average solitaire ring into a piece of art!!! Quite simply: I love it. That's the thing with Travis, he just makes things that make you feel happy. How great is that???
Admittedly, I am a jewelry junkie.... so having someone as passionate about his art as Travis only fuels the fire! I have gotten several neat pieces from him--- not all custom designed. But, the few that stand out as my favories are a "Mama" necklace ( that looks like ones seen on Hollywood stars), a black diamond necklace, and a black pearl and diamond necklace..... I am very hard on my jewelry, so Travis has made sure that all of my jewelry can stand up to serious abuse---- without sacrificing style. I cannot stress how well he listens to his customers needs and delivers!
I get stopped "on the street" routinely by people asking where I got a certain piece of jewelry, and I always send people to Travis. He really listens to his customers, and comes up with fun ideas for things. If you like attentive, responsive service, this is the jeweler for you. If you like buying "cookie cutter" jewlery, fire up your car and head to the mall!!!
Unprofessional and terrible customer service – I do not recommend William Travis Jeweler. My fiance purchased her wedding band at this "establishment" and the jeweler told her that he would use wax casting to create her ring (ring has unique engraving). Apparently wax casting would have provided a better quality ring with deeper, more precise engraving. After agreeing to wax casting the jeweler went ahead and ordered a platinum band and engraved the ring to match our specifications. This process yielded a substandard ring. Do not use this jeweler! I purchased my wedding band at Grimball's (also in Chapel Hill) and received excellent service from their professional staff. I recommend Grimball's.
