Veal Satimbocca, Pizza , and Fried Calamari as good as it gets! – After hearing about Dolce from friends I finally had the opportunity to try it a couple of weeks ago. Having lived in Italy for many years I am very reluctant to venture out for Italian. Finally a friend of mine who I am usually on the same page with as far as food is concerned convinced me to go along with him. Since then I have been back four times. Every dish I have sampled has been fabulous. The Veal Saltimbocca is the best I have had bar none. The chef manages to let the flavor of each ingrediant come through. The presentation alone of this dish will leave your mouth watering. The chef also makes pizza the way it is supposed to be made; thin, and well baked with just the right amount of sauce and fresh mozzarella cheese. The other dish that I have had every time since my first visit is the fried calamari, it is absolutely sublime. The batter is so thin that you would think that it was put on with a paint brush allowing the subtle flavor of the calamari to shine through. The calamari has just the right amount of spring when you bite into it where it almost feels alive. It is served with both rings and tentacles. Give me some fresh lemon and tobasco sauce and I am in heaven. The chef, Antonio Sarlo, along with his sons Anthony and Gregory and the entire wait staff make you feel right at home. Give this one a try, you won't regret it.
Dont waste your time! – Dolce Vita is a joke! It's the most mismanaged retaurant I've ever been in. The owner, Antonio, is sometimes in the kitchen cooking, but the last time I visited he sat at a table in the bar with other guests and proceeded to get drunk while in a chef coat. How unappropriate! My pizza I ordered took over an hour to arrive, because the chef was liquored up next to me and no one was in the kitchen cooking. The bartender was the only one running around trying to take care of all the customers in the bar (I think he might have even been the one who was cooking some food). Antonio should make a choice, does he want to run a business or have a social club...? He seems to be running a popularity contest as it stands now, and he's not getting my vote.
User review by marianneott – Dolce Vita is one of my favorites! The menu has something for everyone and never disappoints. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the service is great, and the chef/owner is the best host in town. I've dined there frequently with small groups, as well as renting out the whole place for a private party. I also had them cater an event. Each time has been a great experience!
Absolutely the BEST! – I love "La Dolce Vita"! An hour after you've arrived, you feel like family! The staff is amazing. The food is fantastic. The bar is wonderful. The ambiance is the best in Denver. All I can say is: you need to go!
