I have been going to see Adam since the winter of 2006. He is the best!! It is totally out of my way to go see him now but I do not care. I would not trust my hair to anyone else. I take my entire family to him and he even gave my son and two nieces their first "real" haircuts. I get stopped by strangers quite often and asked where I get my hair cut and I always send them his way! He takes the time to talk with his clients to get a clear understanding of what they want. As far as the couple of bad reviews that I see on here, I don't know what to say because that is not the Adam that I know. He has never said anything unprofessional to me about a client, another stylist or about anything for that matter in all of these years. Also keep in mind that people are far more likely to write a review to complain than they are to compliment.

Adam did a wonderful job highlighting my hair. He colored it exactly the way I wanted and trimmed it nicely. I highly recommend him

Adam is absolutely amazing! I have gone to him twice and he has done exactly what I asked for. He even did bangs for me for the first time. They came out awesome. MUST VISIT.

Eeeeh, not so much – I went in the summer of 2011, say July or August, to Adam. The color looked really nice. Then, he styled my hair with a blow dryer and round brush. When he was done, he asked how it looked. I politely told him the coloring looked fine, but I couldn't tell about the style, as that was not how I typically did my hair. He got very defensive and tried to persuade me that I liked how he did it. There was a little back and forth, and finally, I just left because I was done of debating it. Frankly, it had become annoying.

When I got home, the bottom layer was uneven. Instead of going back to fix it, I just went to someone else.

Great Place! – I've been going to Adam for over 2 years now. I forgot the salon number and recently looked it up and saw the bad review on here and HAD to write my own.

Adam is a GREAT stylist. He is a very nice person and extremely focused on doing a great job. He does awesome layers to make your hair stack and his highlights are just as good. If anything, he knows how to layer better than any other stylist I've been to.

Like the prior poster, just know ahead of time that he may be a little late for you scheduled appt. because he is taking his time with the last. But remember he will spend just as much time and thought with you.

People ask me where I get my hair done because they love the cut. I proudly say Adam. Give him a try and you won't be disappointed.

Great Place to Get a Haircut! – Adam has been cutting my hair now for over a year, of which I have nothing but good thing's to say about him. He is definitely a professional and perfectionist, who takes a lot of pride in his work. Lareesa is very pleasant and friendly as well. Occasionally, you may have to wait because Adam doesn't rush and wants you to get your money's worth! I read one of the reviews here about some prima donna crying about her disappointment after only one visit. She should lighten up and I was somewhat offended, because I have gotten to know Adam and he is a great person and a solid professional!

adam :dr. jekyll and mr. hyde. DON'T CHANCE UR HAIR'S HEALTH – WHERE TO BEGIN...I WENT IN THE BEGINNING OF JANUARY. I went becuz my neighbor had her virgin hair bleached by him. it took him 6 hours but it looked wonderful and the price was cheap. so, i make an appointment.

he was quitting smoking and on some drug to help me quit smoking which can or could have caused his bizarre behavior.

He was mad becuz I had used box color to do my hair. He said he would have to use bleach to strip it out. I had worked more than a year to get my hair healthy. He burned it. Then he puts bleached on my eyebrows. He charged me for a CORRECTIVE coloring so he could charge me more. HE EVEN GAVE SUCH A BAD HAIRCUT that one side of my hair had 3 extra longer than the other side. the horrible part was I HAD TO POINT IT OUT TO HIM.

when I finally went to Atomic salon and had a girl named Bree or something like that. she told me she worked w/ him at Michells salon and he was crazy. She said he gave horrible haircuts. Another stylist at Atomic salon was there and worked w/ Adam at Mitchell's. The hair stylist called her over to show her what damage and crazy cut or bascially how Adam butchered my hair. They could not help but laugh.

Even then she just put a drab brown and would not totally fix the crazy lazy layers he put in my hair.

I finally went to a salon and told them just to cut off all the damage from the "stripping w/ bleach: Adam did.

I still have horrible looking hair. The sides that he did uneven are growing out so slow.

But my hair is healthy now...short but healthy and I am still coloring it.

I think it is great if some ppl go in and Adam is polite and does your hair well. He was polite and did my neighbor's hair well. He did not charge her a lot.

If you want to take the chance...go in w/ virgin hair. I would not trust him w/ a cut. He will prolly want to give u a bob or if u are a man he will give u the Justin bieber cut.

Again, I look in the mirror everyday since the beginning of 2011 and am reminded of what hair trauma drama he put me thru. There was no reason to have to strip my hair.

i think that was a very arrogant response to an unhappy customer.

7 months....7monts...I finally have healthy hair but I can't style it becuz I really only have less than 3 1/2 inches of healthy hair to work with. My hair was bleached and damaged to the scalp. hair grows only 1in. to 1/2 inches a month. My hair tends to do 1/2 in. The stylist who have tried to fix his blunder keep having to cut my hair even now that it is healthy becuz the cut he gave had such uneven layers. The whole mullet thing comes in to play so every time I go into see a good stylist they have to cut the back so I don't have the infamous mullet.

I hope to one day forgive Adam for ruining my hair and betraying my trust in the fact he knew what he was doing.

just beware. I repeat my neighbor w/ virgin hair was took forever but it was cheap and it looked wonderful...then I go in and it was fired and died and I am still suffering and terrified of another adam coming along. I am just sticking to Salon Moxie or Samuel Cole. I will save money to go to pros who are constantly being educated on how to do hair.

Bad hair day! – Took a chance and got burned...literally!!

Champs Hair Salon – I called for an appointment on a weekend, and Adam said come right over. I was afraid that he would rush me in and out as quickly as possible. Instead, he sat down and asked what I liked and what I didn't like about my hair. I decided I liked his attitude and his method, so I told him to decide the cut based on his opinions of my face shape/hair texture, etc. I was pleased very pleased with the results, the atmosphere, and the way I was treated. I will certainly be a repeat customer.

AWESOME EXPERIENCE...THANK U, ADAM. – I saw my neighbor's hair and I HAD to know who had made her a NATURAL looking blond. She told me ask for Adam at Hair Champs. Yesterday, I did just that. I had red hair I had done myself and then I cut it myself. Adam told me I needed a corrective color becuz I really wanted it lighter Instead of just doing my roots to an awful hair color I got from a box. I now have hair color I can be proud to seen. HAIR I NEVER THOUGHT I COULD EVER HAVE!!! mynatural hair is almost black! The hair cut that he fixed is beyond cute. He was wonderful. He got rid of all the dry and dead hair I had caused from trying to color on my own. . Now, I have healthy hair...that I am going to take very good care of.

The salon is off Glenwood ave near Lynwood Grill. I would go to Adam ...get my hair done....then hang out at the Grill!!!

Adam is a perfectionist. U r not going to be walking out of that salon w/ red/orange/ yellow would not allow that...Thank God.

He was very patient w/ me. I was a nervous wreck going thru this total change. I look like an entirely different person. No salon has done that for me!

Do yourself a favor. Call Hair Champs and Ask for Adam...esp. if u want ppl to think u were born blond.

I will be a dedicated client. I hope after reading this will go and you will become a dedicated client too.
