TGI Fridays tying to be cool – This hole in the wall is full of 21 year olds tring way too hard. The same is true of the staff. The place smells and everyone is standing around like there in a nice place. They dropped an order of fries on the floor and picked it up and served it. There are too many good places in ther area to waste your time and cash on this dump. The staff was rude. skip this place

Average, over priced, poor service – This could be a cute dive, but the snooty staff and car noice destroy any chance for a nice dinner. limited bar mean you can't get the brands you want. Staff not well trained. the patio is like a trash bumpseter enclosure. It's like a saterday night live skit about stuck-up service. go anywere else.

Fun Place, good food – We went to Beechwood the other night, the service was good. My girlfriend had Snapper and I had the chicken. Both were very good. I like the chicken more, but I ?m more of a steak and potatoes guy. My girlfriend loved the snapper enough to ask for the recipe. The drinks were fair priced and the cocktail list looked interesting. Overall we will be back to try more.

Once upon a time this place was awesome! – This is a hard one to write. I once loved Beechwood and would bring anyone there who came into town to visit, but until recent this place has gone from "Great food and service" to "STAY AWAY." I actually signed up for Citysearch just to write this. Something I would normally go to the management to complain about if this weren't specifically about him.

I have been a patron of Beechwood since the pulled pork sandwich and Tatiana. (Both should still be there) Until the end of last year I used to walk into the restaurant and was greeted with three beautiful smiles from three ladies (Again, they should still be there, wish I remembered their names. I think one might have been Brooke???) great energy from the bar staff and servers, the music was always right and the food was beyond compare. Now I enter the restaurant and I get a grunt from the lobotomized hostess and a man (assuming he is the new manager) is braiding her hair. Not only is that foul to do in a restaurant, but offensive and downright inappropriate.

The new staff is rude and inattentive...the feeling of being at a local joint is now gone. If you guys fired the last staff...BIG MISTAKE...if they quite, I understand.

Again, I would have called the restaurant to make a complaint, but it was the managers offense, so the only way to get the message out is by writing.

Please, if you are reading this and own Beechwood let's get back to business as usual Venice is waiting.

Horrible Service, Rude & Arrogant – We have been to Beachwood numerous times. The food is really good, the drinks are weak/overpriced and the pompous waitresses and management are disgusting. They act like their patrons are lucky to be there, total jerks with no understanding of the service industry. I was there for my birthday last year and they tried to charge the entire bar tab to one credit card, saying that their "policy" is to only accept one credit card for groups, the waitress had a nasty attitude to go with it. Last night we met a few friends over there for drinks and bar food, then a few other friends showed up. The waitress accepted credit cards from each group of friends as we arrived but then charged different people for the wrong orders and refused to correct it. She acted the whole night like she was too busy and never came around. One of my friends wanted a drink so he went to the bar b/c the waitress was absent. Then she ran up to him at the bar and yells at him, saying that "it isn't fair to her". Our check was $40 over, and she said "well you better go ask your friends (who left an hour before) for some money" , then she gave herself an %18 tip. I spoke nicely to the manager who proceeded to defend his wait staff and made no effort to acknowledge an obvious problem. He basically said that it was our fault for coming in with a group and ordering too much??? Anyway, we go out drinking with friends every weekend and don't mind spending money. I guess we'll spend it somewhere else. The problem comes from the top, a friend told me that one of their wine suppliers canceled their account b/c the owner guy was so rude, arrogant and never wanted to pay their bill. Too many other great places in town to waste your time here. It's a shame b/c I do love Brooke Williamson's food.

SKIP IT! – i took a friend from manhattan and a friend from denmark to this dump. neither of them could figure out why in the world the doorman/bouncer or the bartender were so dang arrogant. the bartender told me that i "need to tip" him. uh, yea, real bright guy, stating the obvious. mind you, he said this as he was handing us our first round and i had left the tab open. duh, much? for a place that claims class, it employs the trashiest people. never again. we went down the street to the brig, where the bartenders know how to pour well and do so w/o pretension. and they're actually hip. beechwood, who are you kidding? embarassed to say this is a business establishment in my town.

Great food & atmosphere! – I had a great time here. The only downside was that I had a reservation, but still had to wait about 30-45 min. to get a table. Fortunately, there's a great bar and heated patio. I highly recommend this place for drinks, dinner, or both.

Hollywood attitude for no apparent reason... – In two words, baseless arrogance. Despite a decor that would be cutting edge for a suburban Chili's in Wisconsin, the staff at the Beechwood seems to think that they belong on a movie set. After taking a friend from out of town to this disaster of a spot for drinks after dinner, I was rudely told by a bartender to close out my $12 tab immediately at 1:15 AM. Before I could sign out, a barback/ bouncer advised that I tip more next time (keep in mind here, I have lived here for less than six weeks and have never been to this place before)....

While I am new to LA, as someone who has worked in the service industry of a well regarded ski town, I can say that an outdated and/or lame decor, poor service, and an aggressive attitude from staff is a losing combination. TAKE YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE AND BE TREATED WITH THE RESPECT THAT YOU DESERVE....

Watch yourself. – Ah, yes, the rude, pregnant brunette hostess. I have read that others have felt her icky stare and her overbearing presence also. My date and I had just sat down with a couple nice glasses of wine. My date had her feet tucked under her on one of the couches. Little did she know that the hostess had her in the crosshairs. "Uh, I'm gonna need you to get your feet off of there," she blurted at my date. Okay, maybe feet shouldn't be on couches. But they weren't steel-toed work boots and I'm not sure you should be told to take your sandled-feet down at such a place. The next victim was the bouncer, who was guarding the outside patio for a private party. Now, I didn't hear the whole conversation (it was loud), but I did catch the raised-voice part in which she accused the bouncer of calling the servers liars. "My servers are not liars," she sorta-yelled. Don't know what that was about. As far as I'm concerned, when a hostess at a restaurant is behaving brutish to, and in front of customers, it's time to go. So we did. Beechwood is an otherwise pleasant place with good drinks and good food and a very nice atmosphere. But the hostess may as well be swinging around a riding crop. And, upon asking a server about it, I was told that she is often the subject of customer contempt. Like I said, the drinks are good. But they're not that good.

Best service in town! If you like to dine out, I suggest this place. – Ok, first off...to the people who wrote the awful reviews of this place, don't have a sense of a great discreet flavorful eccentric gem of a restaurant if it got lodged in your throat when you were eating it. The food at this place is extremely good. I will start when my party and I walked in. We were greeted by a not-so kind lady who was very pregnant. Her attitude was not that pleasant but I decided to forget about it and just enjoy my meal. We were a bit skeptical of how the rest of the evening would be having just met the first person of the staff. When we walked into the dining room I was shocked. It was packed. There was probably about 20 tables. It was a Friday and it was extremely busy. The dining room which is hidden from the busy bar and lounge area has a Frank Lloyd Wright feel to it. We sit down and are greeted by this young 20-something year old guy named Dan. He was very personable and welcomed us to the restaurant. We had never been here before so he explained to us how the menu's work. You can order bar food inside the main dining room as well. I suggest to try the skirt steak, med rare-med with the unforgettable sweet potato fries-that's what he recommended and my girlfriend took him up on it and could not stop raving out it. He also suggested about trying some of the edamame for the table and the tomatoes and burrata cheese. It has some crispy proscuitto on top which just made it perfect. I usually drink Pinot Noir by the bottle or a light-medium bodied merlot but the server suggested that we try this really nice bottle of Sangiovese from Tuscany. It was fantastic. It paired perfectly with the duck leg confit Dan suggested and the great flat iron steak my friends split. We ended with a nice portion mint-chip ice cream sandwich for dessert. It was a bit noisy but a great experience non-the-less. Dan thanked us for coming and asked us our names, assuming that we would be back, which we will. GREAT FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE.
