Amazing! – I don't know what show a lot of these other reviewers saw. Ka is wonderful. It has a storyline, is incredibly theatrical, and just breathtaking. Definitely a MUST SEE in Vegas.
Skip it! Disappointing – This show was extremely disappointing.
There were a few entertaining parts and the set & stage are fantastic. BUT the show itself follows too much of a story. This show is not the flying around the theatre, acrobatic performance you expect to see at a Cirque show.
At one point in the show, they were doing shadow puppets with their fingers. This is not what we paid $100 a seat to see. If I wasn't sitting right in the middle of the row & had to climb over a dozen people I swear I would have walked out of this performance.
If you're going to drop $100 on a ticket see ANY OTHER Cirque show but this one!!!!
Quite a disappointment – While the show did have some entertaining parts, overall it was a disappointment. I saw it with five women and the overall consensus was that it was a letdown. The set is interesting, but the storyline was difficult to follow and the show lacked in the expected Cirque acrobatics. I'm not sure why it is getting such great reviews. I've seen three other Cirque du Soleil shows and this was my least favorite. Save your $125 for "O" of any other Vegas show. Some of us even napped during the performance--if that tells you anything.
Vegas' monstrous venue showcases boxing, rodeos and top music stars. – In Short
Located inside the world's largest hotel, the MGM Grand Garden is one of Vegas' top arena-size music venues, with fairly decent sightlines and acoustics. As far as pop music goes, this is the Strip's "big room" that accommodates artists like the Rolling Stones, Elton John and Barbra Streisand. Rodeo and boxing events are also regularly scheduled here.
different but awsome – ka may be different from the other cirque shows but i've seen it 3 times. It is much more theatrical that the others and if you open you're mind to other possibilites that to a cookie cut of the other shows then you can see that this show was created with a storyling. amazing special effects and costumes. and like the other cirque shows, the music is live. i recommend it highly to anyo who wants something different. if you're looking for a duplicate of O or mystere then move on.
Disappointing – I've seen many Cirque du Soleil shows over the years and enjoyed them all. I was therefore very excited to be able to get tickets (even at $300) to see "Ka" in Las Vegas and share it with my boyfriend who had never seen the company perform before.
Well, the excitement died out after about 5 minutes into the show. It had nothing of what you would expect from a Cirque performance. No unbelievable acrobatics. No amazing feats of balance or contortionism. Instead you got a baton-twirling, dance show. The action was so slow, I actually fell asleep for a moment. Other people were leaving halfway through. For a classic Cirque experience in Las Vegas, see "O" or "Mystere" instead.
this is the concert venue in the MGM hotel. it holds approx 15,000. I saw pearl jam here in 2000. it's a decent concert venue. nothing special. I was staying right in the MGM hotel so it was obviously easy to get to the arena. just take the elevator down a floor, walk thru the casino, and you are right there. after the show you can head back to your room or head right out to the Strip for some late-night partying
