Harmony has always been great. Never a bad service of any kind. Professional and reasonably priced. My favorite!
I love Harmony Salon! They're professional, friendly and I've never had a problem. I get my hair cut, colored and my brows waxed. I don't always have the same thing done and every time I've switched it up the color has been exactly what I'm looking for. The Aveda products used are wonderful and there's always a good selection in stock. I've been a customer for the past 5 years and have enjoyed my time spent there relaxing and being pampered :)
This salon FRIED my hair. After going back to show them how my hair is falling out MICHAEL RANDAZZO - the owner had someone do a conditioning treatment which didn't help. I asked for my money back and MICHAEL said and I quote, "You need a real tragedy in your life you GD, SOB. Don't call here again because I'm done with you." and hung up on me. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau! What's awesome is I have pictures documenting the process b/c the stylist "G" took them and I emailed to her home account. I can't believe any man would ever say those things - besides the fact that it's supposed to be a professional business. What's interesting is when reading others reviews on this salon, I see a history of him yelling and hanging up on customers.
It has been over one year since my FINAL visit to Harmony Salon on Rea Road and I still am having issues with my hair because of the service I was given there. The stylist my daughter and I saw became engaged and moved to the northern part of the country so I was recommended to another stylist in her absence. I am SO grateful that my teenage daughter wasn't the one who went to that appointment and it was me instead. The color was clearly incorrectly applied/and or/mixed and was left on entirely too long. My scalp was on fire and after I left, I discovered that my scalp had bled as I had a trail of dried blood around my face at the hairline. At first, I thought that I hade been cut with the scissors, but when I got home and starting pulling sections of hair back and looking in the mirror it was clear that I had a chemical burn!
I couldn't help clawing at my scalp over the next weeks as the pain and itch was unbearable! My scalp was peeling and constanting flaking and clumping off! This was extremely painful and also embarrassing as I had a sales/management job with tons of public contact! Just to was my hair would cause me to cry it hurt so bad, and I am NOT a crybaby!
I sought treatment from a Medical Doctor who confirmed that I had a chemical burn, the WORST one this medical professional had ever seen! I was desperate to find something to help my scalp heal and stop the pain, not to mention the hair loss as it was falling out and thinning especially in the back of my head.
I finally had enough and called Harmony and asked to speak to David, the Owner. When I started to tell him what had been going on, he started yelling at me over the phone, refused to compensate me for medical expenses, pain and suffering, etc. and instead offered me a return visit ! ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? When I asked him why in the world I would subject myself to more of their services, he basically called me a liar and hung-up on me!
My Family has been living here for 5 generations, I attended High Schhol and College here, have a broad base of friends here from sports, churches, organizations, neighborhoods, etc. Instead of responding to my needs in a professional manner, he chose the low road. I have let my friends know that I would NOT recomment this establishment to anyone based on the treatment I received after spending lots of bling there over a long period of time! My poodle's groomer provides much more professional service and knowledge and for her sake, I am grateful!
I hope that David can learn that this is no way to run a business, when you or your staff make a mistake, you admit the error and correct the problem.
Please do yourself and all you know a favor and RUN SCREAMING AWAY from Harmony Salon on Rea Road in Charlotte NC!!!!!
I can't say that I'm surprised after all of the awful review I read. I went here for about 6 months before I finally found the right stylist. But she left and and went back to nursing school. When I called to get the color formula that she used (since I had also moved) to take to another Aveda salon, they wouldn't give it to me! WTF? I paid hundreds of dollars for my hair service here, and if my stylist left and I moved, then why can I not have the color information to take to another salon? I've moved several times and have always used Aveda...NEVER have I had a salon tell me that they would not give me my color formula to take to a new salon.
I once had a stylist here leave early, while my hair was still wet because she "had a party to get to". This place is expensive and unprofessional. I don't recommend it.
Won't go back !!!!! F------ – First off the staff said hello at the desk and started to tell me that they ONLY carry aveda , all natural products. I said really???? then why do you have a wall full of Coppella and arogan oil that is NOT AVEDA and all natural. They looked baffled. And their apliances on sale are Babyliss which are great products too, but owned by Conair. I got a Master colorist and knew my hair did NOT need color run through the ends, only a root touch up. She put the color in, agreed and did a root touch up. I then went and proceeded to get a mani/ped during the wait. For an all natural spa they put some women practically in my lap as you all share the same table and soaked her nails to come off. She did my nails, my toes, and washed out the color, rinsed me and blow dryed my hair. The "Master Colorist" came over finally to look at how it came out and I said can you see how light the top is because of the coloring over the grey (I advised her ahead of time the grey was hard to take) and she stated well I couldn't leave it on any longer. Then I had to fight with them out front because they tried to charge me for a full color and I said look I used to sell hair products. I am full aware that you didn't and I'm not paying. They then sent me an email asking as the owner of the so called salon how I felt about my visit. Well I stated the issue, and to day a month since my very nice reply have yet to hear back from them. I perhap guess they assume since it's in the South Charlotte area , they don't need to hold on to potential new customer.
Beware of the staff – I walked in with healthy, uncolored, frizz-free hair for a mere hair cut and walked out with itchy, silicone coated damaged hair that was soaking wet. Gross!
Currently, the staff is pushing "Moroccan Oil" on customers and using it to style hair. Don't use it! If you are considering using it, don't listen to the staff. They promised that it was all natural oil and chemical-free since that was Aveda's commitment. Whatever. Only after buying a bottle did I realize (before opening it) that the 1st two ingredients were silicone.
There is a no refund policy on the oil (which is not oil, its silicone) but since I reacted to it and specifically asked if it was silicone and was told no (twice!) then I was able to exchange it for another product and paid them the difference.
As with the previous reviewer, I agree that the front desk staff was rude and unprofessional. There is no commitment to quality. I had to go toe-to-toe with them after explaining that I was misinformed (whether intentional or not, I don't know; I am going to assume unintentional) regarding the ingredients of the oil (aka, silicone).
If you love your hair, don't trust them. I've been going to
this salon on and off for 3 years and it keeps getting worse and worse and worse. Stylists come and go so quickly. Someone call Tabatha! We, the community, want this to be a quality neighborhood salon.
Horrible – I had medium to long length super curly hair that has a coarse texture. I always end up with it in a ponytail. I went here because a close friend loves her aveda salon. I told the MASTER stylist I wanted a hairstyle that is shorter and wont be hanging down around my face esp when I am working. I am a RN. I told her I didn't have a particular style in mind, I just wanted a STYLE not a ponytail. Maybe something I could push behind ears to get out of face in need be. Took her over an hour to cut it. She started cutting shorter in the back, thought she was gonna cut in a short stack and make top and sides a little longer for a bob look. I could have dealt with that. No she didn't stop there. She cut ALL my hair off. It is not even long enough to tuck behind my ears. Since my hair is coare texture it won't do anything. I had to leave in a hurry to pick my daughter up from preschool didn't really realize how much I disliked until I got home and really looked at it, Tried to rewash all the product out and use the ones I have here at home, but it still wouldn't do anything. Not enough hair left to recut into a different style. I will never go back here and I will not recommend anyone else does either.
never going back – I have been going to Harmony Salon for five or so years and have always had snobbish attitudes from the front receptionists but always blew it off because I liked what they did with my hair. They really are the first people you see and the last that really makes up your whole experience at a salon. They almost act like they are better than the customer and that they don't want to deal with you or your concerns. The girls are great who are stylists but after five years of the front desk and the customer service provided, it isn't worth going there anymore.
I had mixed up my days and missed an appointment. I thought that they would understand and reschedule. I have a pretty good relationship with my colorist after five years and wanted to speak with her to see what my options were. I figured, since I am the one paying, I should be able to speak with her (I called fifteen or so minutes after my scheduled time). I was put on hold after clarifying who I was and the receptionist got back on the phone and continued speaking. I wasn't sure who I was speaking with anymore, so I asked who exactly I was speaking with and she never answered me, and just continued to verify who I was. I then was rudely told that I normally would not be able to speak with my stylist after asking to ( "i normally wouldnt let you talk with her but since she was beside me, I did this time") in exact words. I guess Lisa was offended I asked. After explaining that I didn't want any miscommunications as to why I missed the appointment, she rudely dismissed what I said and said in the most sarcastic way possible, "we look forward to seeing you tomorrow" and hung up on me.
This hasn't been the only time I have had to deal with the front receptionists being this way. After five years, I have seen girl after girl been replaced and I still find it hard to believe that they are still treating customers this way. I simply don't want to pay for this kind of service anymore since getting my hair done there is not worth this level of customer service. I already have an appointment made at another salon and won't be returning to Harmony Salon anymore, even after five years of service.
You were placed on hold as many customers are at all businesses especially during the busiest time of the year. We do not pull stylist away from guests they are in the process of serving, and they do not have clearance or know how to schedlue appiontments using our software. This is why we generally do not get stylist involved with scheduling issues. It happend by what you wrote that the stylist was finishing a client and came up to the desk so the receptionist placed her on the phone. She then gave you back to receptionist to schedule the appointment. SKM we have valued and appreciated your business..
Favorite Hair Salon – I have been going to Harmony since '93 and never worry about who will be available to cut or color my hair. Michael teaches all his staff well... best part is I'm always being complimented on my hair so am more than happy to recommend Harmony to everyone who asks.
