never just a book by it's cover – AND THIS PLACE TELLS US WHY. IT'S IN ANDERSONVILLE WHICH IS GREAT FOR VARIOUS TYPES OF FOODS, INCLUDING COFFE SHOPS THAI, DESSERT SPOTS, AND SUSHI. THIS PLACE LOOKS AMAZING AND FOR THE SERVICE AND PORTIONS YOU GET THE PRICES ARE NOT WORTH IT. 4 OF US DECIDED TO TRY THIS SPOT AND WE WLAKED IN WITH NO RESPONSE FORM THE SERVERS, SAT OURSELVES, GRABBED MENUS FORM WHAT APPEARED TO BE AN ABANDONED TABLE AND WAITED TO GIVE OUR ORDER. AFTER 20-25 MINUTES OF NOT EVEN RECEVIING WATER OR BEING GREETING WE GOT UP AND ABANDONED OUR TABLE AS WELL.
I DID GET TO TRY THIS SPOT DESPITE MY HESITATION FROM A BAD FIRST EXPERIENCE, AND IT WAS SIMPLY OK. PORTIONS WERE SMALL AND DIDN'T SEEM VERY AUTHENTIC.
THE PLACE LOOKS GREAT BUT MAYBE MORE MONEY SHOULD GO TOWARD BETTER SERVERS. WALK DOWN CLARK STREET AND YOU'RE BOND TO FIND A PLACE MUCH CHEAPER AND MUCH BETTER
Creative Rolls - Expensive but Great Flavor – This place is in Andersonville and parking can be tough - but if you enjoy interesting drinks and martinis along with dynamite rolls - then it's worth the effort. We have gone a few times and each time find another roll or dish that makes you crave more. The Braised Scallops the last time we went were amazing - we tried them now at other sushi places but nothing compares - their rolls all have a signature to them that had us gobble them up. Their prices are expensive - so be prepared - we opted out on the pieces as it was just too expensive and the sushi was small and not that great. Service can be uneven -- but they try.
Sleek Andersonville sushi restaurant serves up satisfying, reasonably priced maki and nigiri. – The Scene
At the buzzing intersection of Clark and Foster, this spacious sushi bar and restaurant is all about cool, casual sophistication: Stainless-steel panels gleam under pinpoint lights, while bare exposed-brick walls and dark hardwood floors amp up the urban-chic vibe. The crowd is a neighborhood mix--couples on dates and with kids--all noshing on elaborate sushi rolls to a soundtrack of ambient electronic tunes.
For a neighborhood joint, the menu is surprisingly extensive; nearly two dozen starters range from typical edamame and seaweed salad to more exotic fare like broiled squid and fried oysters in teriyaki sauce. Nigiri selections include multiple kinds of tuna, yellowtail, scallop and flounder; daily specials list intriguing maki combinations like the Green Bay, with soft-shell crab, cucumber and avocado with spicy sauce, and a meaty lobster roll. The menu also features soup bowls and bento box combinations with teriyaki and tempura items.
