Oh where oh where is my waiter – If you can get service at this place you are lucky I would then suggest you start playing the Tennessee Lottery! You have a better chance of getting a cocktail at the Betty Ford Clinic then you do at this low end restaurant. The service is without saying the worst service I have ever had outside of a snack bar at Disney World. Keep your cash you would get a better meal out of a vending machine and the service would be better, atleast you would be getting what you paid for. The Flying Horse is not worth your time or money.
Just Plain Avoid – How to sum up my personal experience:
1.) Horrible Service
2.) Crappy Cold Food
3.) Marginal Drinks (watered down by the time you get them)
4.) Little Value
5.) Horrible Service (did I mention that?)
6.) Great Location
Bad food but the service is worst – The service is beyond terrible, we arrive with reservations at 6:00 pm on a Friday night, the table was not ready. Once we were finally seated the waiter never came to offer drinks, water or anything. I had to get up three times to find a server, finally we flagged one down and ordered 1/2 of the food came out wrong, the food was cold and below average at best. I complained to the assistant manager who seemed shocked, everyone around us was complaining... too many good restaurants to bother eating here, the service is horrible, the food is below average and not worth your time
Inventive specials blend with New American staples at this upscale, unpretentious Franklin restaurant. – In Short
In this huge space just outside the Factory shopping arcade, Brentwood and Franklin professionals and their families fill up two spacious dining rooms. Guests enter through a small, low-lit foyer. While those behind Wild Iris and Yellow Porch also run Flying Horse, don't expect the same kind of menu. Specials of the day are usually inventive enough--think crispy Cornish hens atop creamy pasta--to complement the conservative menu. Desserts include a sinfully rich flourless chocolate torte.
Nothing Special – Went here with group of co-workers. I was hoping for something more... Something unique as this is not a chain restaurant. Dining experience was OK, food was OK, Service was OK. Nothing to write home about.
Great for a family dinner or time with friends – We have been to the flying horse many times. On one occasion we had bad service. We brought it to the attention of the manager, who was apologetic and asked to make it up to us. We declined and assured him we would be back, as we had always had good service in the past. Since, we have returned many times and have had great service and good food. It's a fun place to relax, listen to music and enjoy your companions.
Run away! – went to flying horse for first time. Waitress told us that they were baking fresh bread and it would be available shortly. We are still waiting for them! i ordered the shrimp pasta and the shrimp literally smelled like a dumpster on a hot day. We told the waitress and she apologized but no one offered to do anything to rectify the situation. They brought the bill, charged us full price and we paid and left. We will not be back and we will be sure and tell everyone we come into contact with to take their business elsewhere. Its been about eight hours since the meal and my stomach still aches. this place sucks!!!!!!!!!!!
a great family restaurant! – We took the family to The Flying Horse for dinner last week, and it was great! We were seated promptly, had excellent service, and great food! the mushroom enchiladas were fabulous, as well as the pulled chicken sandwich and the carrot cake for dessert! The kids had thir own menu, and everyone was happy! Definately worth the trip and we will be back!
Great place for dining!! – My fiancee and I recently dined at the Flying Horse restaurant. It was our first trip there, and I must say I was truly impressed. The menu had a variety of offerings so there was something to eat for everyone. Prices varied with each dish and were very reasonable. The atmosphere was very comfortable and highlighted with some great art pieces. We were sat immediately and greeted by our server quickly. All the staff seemed to be very friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel valued. My fiancee had a chicken dish while I had the ribs, both of which were very good. We also had an appetizer (potatoe wedges with cheese, bacon and sour cream) that was very good. They had some local brews on tap...which I of course couldn't resist.
All in all, it was an excellent experience with very good food. We were very satisfied!!
Great potential but just average – This place has excellent potential, especially since few Franklin restaurants have patio seating. The menu choices are excellent, the recipes were creative but flavors were a little bland. For high-grade fare prices, the service and ambiance was well below average. They need to understand their wines - they need to pay extra close attention to detail. There are few incentives to spend $85 on a Monday night meal for four people. If they'd learn to make you feel they really want you back, they can succeed.
