My favorite place – I love planet beach. I have been a member for years. I heard this "loubird" review lady below make a complete fool of herself tonight in the waiting area. She threatened to smear bad reviews so I thought it was only fair to help these people out. This lady was yelling at the manager in front of several of us that even her boyfriend had to calm her down. She seemed in a tiff over not understanding details that seemed plain as day. The manager did a better job at keeping her composure. I wouldn't be able to.
For the record, it's very clean there. This lady is just trying to bring them down to make herself feel better. The girls are always nice even when dealing with unpleasant and miserable people, such as tonight.
Don't let negative people mislead you. People think if they complain and be mean to others, it gets them ahead. Really it does the opposite and makes them look foolish.
Do not visit this location – This location is not clean and very unsanitary, do not visit this location.
Do not under any circumstances, join as a member. I went through months of trying to cancel my membership and was charged hundreds of dollars in the process.
Not only that but literally, every other time I have entered this location, there was a customer complaining to the manager about either the service or the cleanliness of the location. I have never seen so many unhappy customers.
This is absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
I-LOVE-IT!! – I purchased a Groupon for Planet Beach. Little did I know about all these wonderful services they had to offer! I chose the Briar Creek location because they had the most to offer and it was convenient for me. I was blown away. The place is quite unique and very clean. The girls there are incredibly sweet and helpful. I am not a big tanner, so I may not have gone in without the Groupon because I didn't know they did all this "spa" stuff. Needless to say, at the end of my pass, I decided to become a member without hesitation. $89 bucks and month and you are on a mental getaway for an hour or two a week. Can't beat that! So even if you are not a "tanner" like me, this place will have something for you to enjoy. I have told all of my friends and co-workers about it. Worth checking it out!
Great Servicec with Great Results – I have been a member at Brier Creek for over 2 years and love this place. They just put in a slim capsule that has helped me loose weight and a red light therapy machine that has reduced my crows feet. The place is clean and the staff knows me by name. I opted for a membership as its the best way to go and have absolutely no issues. You can also just buy a month or sessions if you do not want a membership . OVERALL AWESOME EXPERIENCE

STAY AWAY!!!!! – They charged our account double by mistake and admitted to their error and said they would fix it and never refunded it! They continued making these mistakes along with also charging our frozen acct fee of 5dollars plus the $79. After all the overdraft charges because of what they did and continued to do, we closed our account and asked the owners(who never returns calls) what they were going to do about all those charges. They told us that there was nothing they could do and if we didn't give them our cc number for draft that they would send it to a collection agency. It was almost threatening. That's exactly what they did and they say I owe over 400!!! Unbelievable!!! PLEASE TRUST ME! I HAVE ALL DOCUMENTS TO PROOVE THIS AND AM FIGHTING THIS ISSUE!! PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!
I apologize for any inconvenience you have had. We are more than happy to correct any mistakes that we have made, as the last thing we want to do is to make an error and not take care of it. This is why we document everything that we do, from Membership Forms to Freeze Forms to Cancellation Forms, etc. We give a copy to the customer and keep a copy for ourselves, for protection of the customer and us. If you have documentation of freezes or a cancellation that were charged improperly please bring in all documentation and we will be more than willing to correct any mistake on our end. The only time we can not issue a refund, is if there is no documentation. Please note, under no exception, do we freeze or cancel an account without proper documentation. If you can provide the proper documentation for the items you feel wrongly charged for, please call the store to set up an appointment with me, and I will personally work through this situation with you.
The BEST tanning in Raleigh! – I went here for the first time about a year ago and I can say off the bat I was very impressed with the cleanliness and staff at the salon/spa.
When I first went there I only did some of the tanning beds but I came back this past winter and saw a bunch of services I don't think I noticed before- my favorite so far has been light facial (bye wrinkles!) and their slimpod (weight loss system).
The services & staff are beyond my expectations and they have different combinations with their packages so its really affordable to enjoy everything.
One thing I have to say is Ive seen a few negative reviews about contracts, fees and what not and I assume these people are talking about the monthly packages. Just a note- you don't have to do a monthly package, they have many other package options. As for me, I have the monthly package and thoroughly enjoy it and I for one think its much more convenient.
Overall, I say go! You'll be happy that you went.

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE – I have been with Planet Beach for 3 years now, and I have really enjoyed my experience with their tanning beds. knh1216: You shouldn't criticize Planet Beach for getting your credit card info. You gave it to them! You should have been aware that it was a contract for a certain amount of months you were going to use the tanning bed. Secondly, why would you only go there to buy tanning lotions? They don't sell tanning lotions that you can lay outside with. They only sell INDOOR tanning lotions, and the only reason to buy them is if you had your own tanning bed. Planet Beach is not scammers, and they do not pressure you to buy a package deal. Just say no, and they don't bother you. They are really nice if you actually tell them EXACTLY what you went in there for. I think your bad review is BS because you were unaware of YOUR actions that made you mad. You can't get mad at anybody but yourself..
On the other hand, you could go in there for the greatest teeth whitening! That REALLY does work! I love all their beds, and they do change the bulbs and clean the beds very good. I would recommend Planet Beach to anyone who wants a very nice tanning experience, but if you are on a budget, just go to the regular tanning bed place for $25 a month... There's a place on Six Forks by Domino's Pizza that is only $25 for a month, and you don't sign a contract.... People don't understand when you sign a contract, you need to READ EVERYTHING!
i wouldn't – i worked at a tanning bed in johnson city, tn and we got free mystic tans. my sister came in town and needed to be tan for a wedding so we researched local tanning beds that had mystics since i know the products.
Planet beach seemed to be one of the only mystic tanning beds around and since they give you everything for free on your first visit we checked it out.
Little did i know that unlike the mystic bed my previous employer had it wasn't the only where you turn 360 degrees... it only gets your front and back. it's not too noticable that i would stay in my but i would not go back. They also don't even use mystic products anymore they said users liked their new one better. Take it from someone that has used both theirs smells way stronger for longer even though they put aromas in free of charge. My face and the inside of my arms are blotchy from this product... needless to say i won't be going back even though their mystic is relatively inexpensive.
Good stuff! – Very clean. Nice tanning beds. They have other options that aren't tanning. Prices are good. The people that work there are friendly. What else do you need?

I recently came into Planet Beach not even thinking about purchasing a package, all I wanted was some self tanning lotion. When I walked in I was told to sit down that I still needed to consider the packages. That's when I should have gotten up and walked out, but somehow I got talked into a big package that costed too much that in this economy no one can afford right now. I went home and got reading my paper work and was uncomfotable they had my card number to take money out whenever they felt like it so I went to cancel my contract that I stupidly got talked into, and was informed that I had to pay for everything individually. I'm glad I read my papers before my 3 days to cancel were up. I would NEVER reccomend Planet Beach for no one!
