The bustling Flatiron meet market has closed its doors and has been replaced by a new bar called Catch-22.. The Scene
It's hard to miss the neon red-and-blue sign outside this hook-up scene, where minglers line every inch of the long bar on late weekend nights. Flat-screen TVs and a smattering of couches make for a fairly standard main level, but cozy balcony areas add loungey appeal--the tiny front terrace offers lots of privacy, while small parties often take over the back section with pretty blue tiles, soft colored lighting, and a service bar. Most nights, DJs spin upbeat sets of current hip-hop, house and '80s hits.

The Draw
The young, festive crowd always gets served plenty of shots by the sociable bartenders. Baseball-cap-wearing boys sip oversized martinis and vie for gussied-up girls on weekends, while happy hour drink specials and a tasty menu including mini-burgers, pizzas, and homemade guacamole reel in the after-work crowd.

Doomed!!. Between the rudeness of the staff and Prey charging a $20 cover, I would say this place will be expected to close in a few months. My friend and I was dumb enough to allow the doorman to convince to pay a $20 cover and we would have a good time. Keep in mind that we are both 28. We walked in and the place was filled with underage kids drinking and acting rowdy all over. It was a disappointment.

Horrible Managerial Staff. I made the mistake of having my husband's Surprise Party at Prey last weekend. In the beginning everything seemed okay. Our waitress Mariah was great. However, there was a group of men seated near our large group of 50 people (so I definitely brought business to this place) who were obscenely drunk. One of the men decided to pour his entire drink on my cousin, which angered my cousin greatly. We had a NYC Cop part of our group who was able to calm things down, but what happened afterwards shocked me. The manager came up to me and blamed our group for the disturbance saying that the drunk man was related to the owner and that we should consolidate our group and spend more money or LEAVE! Our group was a mixture of Black and Latino young professionals, none of whom were drunk and it was interesting that we were the ones blamed for the incident. Afterwards they kept a bouncer upstairs to watch our group and they also let the drunken guy back upstairs and he was walking around pushing people (he pushed me a few times) around and being a drunken nuisance. When I spoke with the bouncer he kindly stated ?To be honest with you, they don?t even want us in here.? Also we paid a cake fee, and they did not provide napkins or even plates & utensils, what was the fee for then? I was so unhappy that this is how things ended up, I did my research to try and find the most suitable place to celebrate my husband?s birthday and accomplishments and all I got was a poorly managed establishment. We still loved Mariah and tipped her well, she was awesome, and wasn?t involved in any of the nonsense.

Stay home....... Rude female bartenders. Bad service. Horrible DJ. = Closing in the near future?

Went there for a Birthday party with friends. The place was a ghosttown but the only reason we had fun is because our group is crazy....lol. Instead of coming here...... Go to the store buy a few bottles of goose and turn on your radio and invite your friends to your house.... it will be just as fun but you will save a lot of money.

Do Not Go Here...KIDDY BAR. If you are looking for an underage bar, you have came to the right place. I had planned my birthday here with Kristi the manager. She assured me that the place is perfect for a 25th birthday. The place is disgusting!! The bar was filled with nothing but underage teenagers, some must have even been under 18 years old. I felt like it was a high school party, how embarassing to invite my friends and made them do bottle service. I felt like I was lied to and ripped off. Do not EVER plan your birthday here unless you are looking to hang out with high school kids.

Maybe we came on the wrong night?. Perhaps we came on a "bad" night........it is possible. The bartenders were not very friendly at all, I asked for a drink suggestion and she was rude. There weren't too many people there, and the crowd that had gathered wasn't what I expected from reading previous reviews. Luckily, we moved on to another bar with some friends and ended up having a great night. I would not go back.

Great Atmosphere. I organized my H.S. reunion all the way from Florida and let me tell you...there were tons of places that I called and the people were down right rude. But as soon I got in touch with Prey, it was nothing but proefessionalism from the start. Kristi, the events planner, was on top of her game. She really made me feel like everything would be ok when left in her hands. Again, I live in Florida so I was a little nervous. On 8/18 the spot was pumping and the music was great. All of my friends were happy to be together again and all of them gave kudos for choosing Prey. The guys really loved the flat screened TVs and some of them checked out sports in between drinks. Next time I have a party, I will definitely check them out again. Go Murry Bergtraum HS Class of 1996!

Where were all the people?. Went this past Saturday to a friends birthday party. He reserved the top section or VIP area and had an open bar for 50$ per person. Pretty fun night, cool bartenders and chill atmosphere but only drawback- there was NOT A SOUL in the downstairs bar area. Would reccomend, but wanted to see a larger crowd in addition to my friends ( I like the craziness of busy bar/clubs). Had a conversation with the doorman and manager outside- pretty nice guys.

Beware!!. I learned my lesson the hard way. I called up the manager to inquire about booking my 25th birthday. She kept telling me that the place is very similar vibe to the places in the Meatpacking so I went ahead and booked it at Prey. When we arrived, not only did the doorman not have our guestlist. He made our entire group pay a $15 cover. The place was a Frat bar...was it some kind of joke? The manager was no where to be found. What a waste!! We ended up leaving after an hour. Thanks for ruining my birthday
