Very disappointed. Got a group-on for window tinting and their schedule only allows 8am drop-offs, for the whole day. I work in my vehicle. I need my car monday thru friday. I have wednesday afternoons off and I can drop it off at 2pm. Nope. I ask about getting it done on Saturday... any company that wants any business has to be open one day of the weekend for those who can't get in during the week... Nope. Their tinter doesn't even work on saturdays. Here is some advice. If you are booked till june and have only one tinter that works only during the week.. HIRE SOMEONE TO HELP. Perhaps one that can work a saturday or two to alleviate the schedule pressures and help people who can't do 8am drop-offs during the week.
Rude and FAT – I just called them to see ask about the Groupon. I asked the guy who answered the phone if the Groupon covers Madico tint (since Johnson has bad reviews). He said yes at a higher price. I asked him how much more. He replied you have to bring it in to get a price. I asked if he can ball park it for me to give me an idea. He said "Ever since the Groupon ran, we have gotten over 300 calls like yours. You have to bring the car in for us to give you a price." He was rude and obviously he is FAT now since he is getting so much business from Groupon. Even at half the price, I will NEVER give my business to A$$h0les!
Good – I had previously written a 1-star review based on a negative experience that I had in which my confirmed appointment was cancelled without any notification and then I was then hung up on when I called All-Star. After posting that review, i was contacted by Tom (the owner) who apologized and made it clear that my experience was not acceptable or typical of All-Star.
We agreed to give it another go and this time I was offered a dedicated time slot (first call of the morning at 9am). I am pleased to say that this experience was far more positive. All-Star arrived at my home at 9am as promised and performed the work (a front windshield replacement) in around 45 mins. The work was done well and everything went very smoothly.
Typically, I would only update a 1 star review to 3 stars...but I have decided to give All-Star 4 stars for the effort they made to make up for the initial bad experience. I am pleased that the work was done well in the end and I am willing to accept that my initial experience was not typical. I would use All-Star again in the future.
One fly in the ointment – I had a huge crack in my windshield. I did some research and decided to go with All-Star. I got an appointment much quicker than I thought I would and it was at my home. I got a call from the tech before he got here, and another call while he was in the driveway doing the work from All-Star concerning payment. That went off without a hitch. Very nice people, professional and quick. The tech was very nice and professional.
When I drove my truck the next day, I noticed a wind noise starting about 30 mph and getting loudest at about 40+. I called and they asked me to remove the blue tape the tech had left on the window and roof. I did that but it made no difference. On Friday of that week, (two days since the replacement), I noticed a very, very tiny amount of water coming in from the top behind my rear view mirror. I called All-Star again and finally wound up talking to the manager. I forget his name, but he was concerned and suggested a couple of things and really tried to get someone back out to my house Saturday.
Monday I got a call from All-Star and it was the dispatcher, Greg. We made plans for Tuesday to have the work done at my work place. Because of the security measures at my work, I was trying to think of the best way to get my keys to the tech who would be doing the work. At this point, from his tone of voice and the way he cut in, I got the distinct feeling that Greg was getting impatient and wanted to get off the phone. I made plans to have my truck inside the gate, near our shop and called Greg and told him what his tech would have to do and where to enter the our facility. But once I gave Greg the address, he said, "We'll take care of it", and quickly hung up.
I came back to the yard that night to find that the work had not been done. The shop supervisor told me that he had seen the All-Star van out in our parking lot driving around, but by the time he got out there, it was gone. I called All-Star and got a very nice woman on the phone and told her exactly what I had told the dispatcher the day before. She said that the work order she was looking at showed nothing about having the work done at my job. She took careful notes and assured me it would be done the next day.
The work was done the next day. It was raining, but the tech was able to pull my truck into the shop where he could do the work. The windshield is now quite and there are no leaks.
The only problem I had with this company seems to have been with the dispatcher not giving his tech the information I told him he would need to get to my truck and his curt responses to me on the phone. Everyone else I dealt with were great and seemed really concerned that I was satisfied. I'm sorry I don't remember the name of the woman I talked to or the manager. They were great. I would use them again but if there were special circumstances to the job, I'd rather not deal with their dispatcher but with someone who can get the circumstances to the actual person doing the work.
Sweet deal – I'm excited enough about this to comment about them online. That says a lot. I actually felt the need to say something nice because impressive service sometimes warrants it. I spoke with a couple different people at All star and I'm so impressed with them. Clearly, they have a warm, friendly culture at the shop. Totally bowled me over with how nice everyone was. :)
The product is excellent. Had a full windshield replaced on my 2008 4runner. No problems and the work looks perfect.
HURRAY:) Love the guys at All Star Auto Glass! – I recently bought a used car from one of my car workers (as is) and the windshield was split in three. it's a cute car, but it was looking a little out of shape. called all star auto glass, they came out right away. really inexpensive and my car looks brand new! made such a difference:)
Replaced truck windshield – Upon discovering a chip on my windshield, I called Allstar and they provided me with fast, friendly service. I especially liked the free brown bear car washes.
Good stuff. – I've been fortunate enough to never have to deal with broken windshields before, so this is a first for me. I got just smashed by a rock on I-5 though, I suppose I was due. I had no idea how this was going to work, but I'm very satisfied. After making a phone call, I got a friendly and knowledgeable person who was happy to have them deliver and fix the windshield. I didn't even know that this was an option. Very cool. I'm pleased all around with the service and my windshield.
Water logged in seattle – I had two windshields replaced by all-star. when they did the job i was worried about the Seal on the BMW it looked cut, All-star said they were factory seal replacements and they should look that way. well every other BMW I look at does not look cut....... Now for the Humer I have an ungodly rattle in the plastic seal arround my front windshield and now I have water POURING out my drivers side door I have sucked about 3 gallons of water with a wet vac.... They also promised a 25% discount for working at a company that recieved the discount, the said it was in the mail... Wow I never knew it took months to deliver the mail... VERY DISSAPOINTED.. NEVER NEVER WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE...
Great service, didn't get dinged in the wallet! – Spoke with Tom by phone, he got me all dialed in on an appointment. The next morning, right at 10 am I had a repairperson there to quickly fix my windshield.
They accepted my insurance and even if they hadn't, they were by far the least expensive of the local companies I called. Good stuff all around.
