Worst Customer service/Menu EVER!! – My family and I read a glowing review about Mona's in the Denver Post. I have since determined that the reviewer must have been a good friend to the owner! The hostess was RUDE, the bartender was incompetent, and the selection was horrendous at best. I would rather starve to death then step foot anywhere near mona's again! Consider yourselves warned!
AVOID MONA'S, horribe service and the food is mediocre – As many of the other people on this site, i had a horrible eating experience at the new Mona's on Broadway... waited too long for a table, it took over an hour for our food to arrive (just a plain breakfast burrito and eggs benedict, both of which were plain and over priced), the order was incorrect, and the worst/unapologectic wait staff i have ever encountered... the only time i have EVER not left a tip. AVOID MONA's!!!
WORST choice for breakfast – We arrived at Mona's ON BROADWAY on a weekend and expected to have to wait for a table. However, half the restaurant was empty and the Manager would not seat anyone. When looking around, the place was clearly understaffed AND the staff was moving like molasses. We waited 45 minutes and were the only group left to seat (with a handful of empty tables still available) and the Manager ignored us. We finally got up to leave and after walked across Broadway, the Manager yelled at us and antagonized us!!! "Thanks a lot, and we love you!" So bizarre. Granted we did not even eat, but clearly this was not the place we wanted to spend our hard earned money. AVOID MONA'S AT ALL COSTS.
Skip Mona's on Brodway – Dear Mona's (Garen)
Well I have to say I am very disappointed in your restaurant. After a 20 minute wait to get a table, during which we saw open table that whole time. So that tells me your kitchen is under staffed. We then wait a long time to get our food. which was ok but nothing to write home about. I requested green chile on my breakfast burrito I could hardly find it, what was there was good. very cheap.
We had been give a gift certificate to try our your place by a friend. We gave it to the server, the price of our table plus a good tip work out just right. She said that could be done and thank you. In leaving the place we were stopped by the manager I assume and told we could not use it for the tip and he gave us back the cert with six dollars left on it. I was shocked. I never had a restaurant do that before. This just say's to me that you are more worried about nickel & dimming your customer to death than providing good service and food. I will be throwing away the rest of this gift certificate and letting all my friends & family know to skip Mona's, there are much better place to support.

Mona's cafe on broadway – Mona's Cafe/Restaurant
the service was horrible, we never got one single refill on our ice tea. the waitress checked on us 15 sec afgter we got our food (had to get our own ketchup) 15 sec is not enought time to even get your napkin unrolled not enough time to even take a bite. Surely the waitstaff should KNOW THIS!! no other checkbacks except to get our money for the bill. NOT RECOMMENDED. food is ok but service is LOUSY...the owner/mgr (garren) was even there and did nothing. DO NOT GO THERE i would comjpare this "so-called" 4 star restaurant to burger king PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE WHERE THE SERVICE IS PARAMOUNT
Servers with (bad) attitude – I have been to Mona's before for breakfast, but after my experience this morning I will never return. I and one other person dining with me had to send our food back. His came back re-done-incorrectly again; I got nothing. We patiently waited for my plate to return, but instead all we got was the check from our waitress and she asked how things were (the first time we'd seen her since our food was delivered because we sent our food back to another gentleman that was working the floor) we said "not so good." She proceeded to tell me "not to cop an attitude" and then walked away. No apology or anything from her. I have never been treated so badly in a restaurant in my life. I would not recommend this restaurant to even my worst enemy. Mona's is certainly not the restaurant it was when it first opened.
I was impressed by brunch – I've only eaten at Mona's for brunch, but was very pleased. Our hipster waiter guy was very sweet to my kids and provided excellent service (read as: we always had lots of coffee!). The food was *delicious*, and the pancakes with chocolate chip faces delighted my boys. Ginormous servings. The wait was a tad long, but we could at least sit on a bench outside (this would not be good in winter!). The prices were a bit higher than what we usually can afford for brunch, but it's a good place for a treat. I'd definitely go back.
Delicious food, pleasant atmosphere – In addition to breakfast and lunch, Mona's serves dinner on Tuesday through Friday. I recently had dinner there for the first time and the food was exquisite (and a great value for the price--especially with the $23 bottle of wine we ordered). My eggplant ravioli had a rich explosion of flavors with capers, raisins, green and black olives, etc. The restaurant is stylish, but comfortable and laid-back. Our server was friendly and attentive.
Update: the Platte River Valley neighborhood location no longer serves dinner. The restaurant is apparently in the process of opening another location on South Broadway, but I don't know if it will be open for dinner.
Excellent food and service- a local favorite! – Mona's has a great, unassuming atmosphere with fantastic food! Superior service- I think I was offered more coffee at least 4 times, and the food just can't be beat. A real local's favorite and Denver treasure.
The best breakfast/lunch food in town! – This place has the greatest breakfasts and lunches!! For breakfast they have excellent and huge breakfast burritos and delicious orange french toast and blueberry pancakes to name a few of my favorites. The coffee is good and bloody marys are excellent as well. Lunch is great with a delicious tuna melt that has cranberries in... really makes the sandwich. Their homemade french fries and chips are great too. The weekday daily soup specials are excellent too. It is a must visit for anyone in Denver!!
