i love this place – I tryed this place for the first time a week ago and it was great!!! i love the steak hoagie, and the fries are the best!! It feels realy great to be supporting local l.a. I am forever a costomer, and well....my fav. is the cute guy taking my order!!!(those eyes)
Great wings, great service, great price – My boyfriend and I have searched far and wide in the great city of Los Angeles for the best wings. Some were too tough, some were too dry, some were not hot enough and some just were inedible. I came across this review on citysearch and was a little skeptic. I tried another wing place with a friend of mine that was recommended by other users and it was horrible. But, I decided to give it one more shot, just when we thought there were no good wing places in LA. I ordered a huge order of hot wings and a large order of their garlic fries. I have to admit, this has got to be the best wing place in LA, actually one of the best wing places I've ever been to! The sauce was perfect, just hot enough, with a kick. Some places skimp on the sauce, so I ordered an extra side of sauce and when I opened the box, the wings were perfectly drenched with just the right amount. The fries were incredible and everything was still hot when I brought it home. The service? Phenomenal. Very friendly, hip, young staff and helpful. I highly recommend this place to everyone. The only con? I wish they had plasma tv's and ice cold beer on tap.
Uh...I don't think so – It's to be expected that not everyone has the same tastes. But to imply that everyone who disagrees with you must be a liar or imposter is going a bit too far. How do we know that an overexaggerated negative review isn't the product of a competitor?
I have visited this little hole-in-the-wall with LaTruchaLoca: I'm his wife. (BTW: check his other reviews; he's not a one-time poster trying to support a relative.) He loves the lemon pepper wings. For me, it's a toss up between those and the mild hot wings. I later brought a girlfriend here and we sat out on noisy Venice Blvd. with an assortment of four different types of delicious wings. The staff went out of their way to serve us, even asking if we wanted more napkins or refills on our sodas. Which no one would expect when you're sitting outside a cheap joint drinking out of a paper cup. He was a complete gentleman and we appreciated it. Yeah...it took a while to get our wings. But they were hot and delicious, so that was forgiveable. My friend took a friend of hers later, and she also raved about the wings.
They deliver, so I had another girlfriend over one day and we ordered wings and I got a steak hoagie special. Now she's hooked as well. I like the steak hoagie, but it's not as good as the one at Al's Sandwich Shop on Robertson.
This place may not be for everyone, but I've been there several times, observing the diverse customers happily walking away with their bounty of wings and such. It's refreshing to see an assuming wing shack get great reviews, and that some people aren't afraid to step foot out of the westside.
What a joke. – I decided to check this place out after reading all the glowing reviews and how a Harvard grad and some Cordon Blu graduates owned it. The people who made my highly over rated hoagie and wings combo looked more like Pep Boys graduates. My theory is that friends of the owners wrote these reviews because the food was not that tastey and it took a long time to receive even though it was not busy. I think from now on I'll try places that only have bad reviews. I would NEVER eat there again or recommend this to any of my friends. Don't be fooled by all the misleading reviews.
Ample & tasty wings, GREAT service (why is that so rare in L.A.?) – There's certainly a huge buzz about this place and you'll probably be quite surprised initially when you pull up to find that it's just a curbside "shack"-style joint. It's also kind of in the "hood" a bit (hey, I live a few blocks from this place so I can say that). Anyways, it is so refreshing to go to a place, especially a cheap take out place in the middle of the city, where you get excellent, excellent service. Don't get me wrong, the wings are also very good (they're big, cheap, and tasty; I like the lemon-pepper best). But I really think the key to their success is that they honestly greet you with warm openness and seek to make you feel satisfied. That just seems like "How To Run A Successful Business 101," but apparently most folks in L.A. never took that class. My hat is off to these guys (and they do seem like young guys from the neighborhood who are running this business), and I am spreading the word to patronize this place because you'll be satisfied with the food and with the service.
Best Cheesesteak in LA – This place has the best cheesesteak, makes you think that you're actually eating in Philly. There fries have good seasoning. I had the Steak Hoagie with fries and wings. Everything taste great but the sandwich was what makes this place stand out. It located on a corner in a residential area and you might pass it trying to find it but it's well worth the drive.
yum yum & yum – I am still drooling over the fries and wings I had yesterday....so much for my diet! I highly highly highly recommend Hoagies & Wings...best food, sandwiches, wings of course and service is impeccable. These guys are truly invested in their place and its very evident in how they treat every customer. Nice work guys!
Great Wings and Hoagies – Found this restaurant on this site and thought we'd give it a try. Late Sunday afternoon we called in an order for wings and their Chicken Ranch sandwich for delivery. Person on the phone couldn't have been friendlier. He apologized that it might be an hour before they could deliver, which was fine. Less than 30 minutes later our food was there, and everything was great. Thought the lemon pepper wings were a bit bland, but the hot wings and especially the hoagie was quite tasty.
Best Wings!!!!!!!!! – Wings are one of my favorite foods and I've tried wings all over the country. I can honestly say that H & W has THE best wings! The hoagies are very delicious too, but their wings are AMAZING! And they have a great variety of flavors.
Great Wings, Good Hoagies, Excellent atmosphere – I live down the street from there and been there since they first opened. The guys are great people. Great customer service. They make it an initiative to remember all people that go there. There Lemon pepper wings are definitely a choice on the Menu to try. Fries are also something to look forward to. Over all this place has a great atmosphere especially if your into sports. Always something exciting there when theres a sporting event. Nothing but good people that work there and customers. If your looking for some tasty wings, great hoagies, relaxing atmosphere and a place to socialize, this is definitely a place to check out. Hands down a definite place to check out.
