I came in as a new client looking to get my hair cut, I had Lisa as a hairstylist. She seemed distracted and rushed through the haircut which was a disappointment because it showed in the end. I would not recommend this salon, but more so I would nor recommend Lisa as a hairstylist.
Best Facial!!! – I have been going to Renee for years to get my eyebrows waxed. Recently, I just had my first facial with her. I get facials often and I have tried many of the spas on Newbury Street and all around Boston. Renee gave me the best facial I have ever received. My skin was not in the best condition when I got to Debu and after I left it was a little red but the next day, my skin was clear and glowing. It was a complete transformation. I would recommend Renee to anyone needing a a facial.
debu's color specialist is da bomb :-) – i am a 1st time dyer and very pleased with the color treatment i recvd i will always go back to chairen for my hair color she was very pleasant, and above all honest. she helped me choose the right color for my skin tone. i have gotten a lot of compliments. there was an older lady i am not sure if her name was ines but anyway i would like to give her props for the cloud9 hair washing experience she gave me. i would recommend her as well. to all at debu- thank you for having a classy-professional-pleasant-laid back-atmosphere-p.s.chairen see you soon!!!!
Great hair removal and brows – Amazing salon!! Fast hair removal, almost painless. Great job with the brows as well. Definitely will come back!
Great Salon – I would whole-heartedly recommend this salon to anyone. It is very inviting, relaxing and funky. I would take this place over the stuffy, high-priced Newbury Street salons any day. I particularly love the way Tatyana does my eyebrows (they always look amazing and I actually get complimented on how nice they look) but everyone in the salon is great!
Heavenly Highlights – New to town, I was a little apprehensive when it came to finding a new hair stylist who could do great color, be reasonably priced, and have a warm and inviting personality. I thought I'd find some fancy place on Newbury Street and settle for paying the big bucks for overrated salon sass until I was recommended by Netta at Isis Spa (which is fantastic) to see her cousin Lisa at Debu Salon and Day Spa. If Lisa was anything like Netta I knew I'd be in good hands. Just as I suspected, Lisa was friendly, patient, and knowledgable about the look I was going for and how to get me there. Unlike other upscale salons where the stylist slaps on color and disappears, Lisa was attentive and professional - checking on me frequently and offering me cozy salon service like hot tea and coffee. This tucked away Salon offers more than just impecable service and an inviting atmosphere - it is the upitamy of relaxation and quality customer satisfaction. They have the most incredible hair washing, head massage I've ever had - my neck felt completely relaxed and tingled from the sweet-smelling peppermint conditioner! Needless to say, my entire experience was top notch - from the personable service to "heavenly highlights" and I would recommend this Spa and Lisa to anyone. If you're a girl desperate for seemless, natural looking, brillant highlights - trust me that Salon Debu will have you coming back for more :)
Perfect Atmosphere, Perfect Eyebrows – I had my eyebrows done a few weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. Tatyana was fantastic; she was friendly and knew exactly what she was doing. I've already recommended Debu to my friends and they're looking forward to getting their eyebrows done. The atmosphere was very relaxed and it was a perfect price to pay for a job well done.
Very impressed -- pricey like Newbury but without the attitude. – I agree with the other reviewers that Ines is an amazing stylist; she is nice, friendly and down-to-earth and does an outstanding cut. She also listens very well and provides great suggestions. As far as brows, there are better places in town; see my review of "Violet Skin Spa." I thought the relaxed atmosphere would also signal more relaxed prices, but that isn't the case. You'll still pay a lot for a haircut, but at least you aren't paying for attitude.
Editorial Review – Cutting edge spa and salon caters to a modern clientele in the shadow of South Station.
Love Debu – I have always been a bit leery of "upscale salons" only because I am not an upscale person. Debu staff and owner Ines are completely down to earth. The salon is beautiful . I have naturally curly hair that had no ryhme or reason to it and Ines gave me the best cut I have ever had in my life. My curls are fresh and soft and I'm goiing back for color. OH and the hair washing is great !! Who doesn't want a nice scalp massage first thing Saturday morning?? I am a customer for as long as I live and work in Boston. Thanks Ines for saving my curls !!!!!
