Maybe it was an off night – I'm trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt, because it's a cute little hole in the wall in a great neighborhood. That said, the ravioli was so overcooked it was nauseating, and it was swimming in too salty pesto. The half chicken was salty and overcooked and the steamed carrots and broccoli did nothing to liven it up.

On a positive note, the server was attentive, the restaurant is cozy and the salad dressing was delicious - definitely the highlight.

Petite Mission nook serving European fare to neighborhood regulars. – In Short
Burnt orange walls are adorned with European artwork and loungey jazz fills the air as diners sip from carafes of wine. There are approximately a dozen entrees and the kitchen uses free-range meats in everything from roasted herb chicken to beef lasagna. There's also duck cassoulet, spinach ravioli and seafood paella peppered with country sausage. A single server presides over all 10 tables.

Best "hole in the wall" French in SF! – This is a charming and cozy spot that's nestled a few doors down from its parent restaurant - watercress. This is a true value in SF where there isn't an abundance of authentic and delectable French cuisine. A group of 10 dined for $300 including plenty of wine and appetizers. The star of the night was the flatiron steak. Served in a roulade with a demi glaze drizzled over perfectly seasoned mashed potatoes. The lasagna was a winner. However, stuffed tomatoes just didn't make the grade and left the diner disappointed. An amazing caprese with a basil oil and very fresh mozzarella was also the top starter. You've got to try this place...
